I am finding it virtually impossible to find support for Mozilla products on support.mozilla.org simply because there is no obvious way to AND search terms rather than have the website OR them by default. When I get hundreds of results I want to refine them by adding more to my description, but when I do that I get even more results. If providing the option to select AND rather than OR is too difficult, at least have the search default to AND, which is in nearly every instance more helpful.

The most recent updates to Thunderbird have disabled my ability to change the size of the menu fonts. Therefore, my e-mail is now unreadable.

The utility I was using Theme-font-size-changer, no longer shows up in the Tools menu.

That means I guess I don't need a Mozilla account anymore because I can't use your products!

I now have to find a usable e-mail client.

Why do you pull sh*t like this anyway?

Due to a complex problem on Win7 64 Laptop, I can only access the net with 64bit apps like WaterFox. 32bit Thunderbird can't send or receive emails. At home, I use 32bit Tbird on a desktop, but I need a 64bit client for travel. If there is one, can I use Mozbackup to have it get my settings. Will the emails I read or send from the laptop still be available on the desktop when I return? Thanks for any insights. MrToad

Updating server setting in Thunderbird reverts with restart (win10)

I'm trying to update the server settings for an email address in Thunderbird, but it reverts to the old settings when Thunderbird restarts.

I go to the account settings for the email address of interest. I then update the Server Name or the User name (they both do the same thing). This then produces a pop-up that says "Restart is required to apply the server name or username change." Click OK to restart and when Thunderbird has restarted the Server Name/User Name has reverted back to the old setting.

A similar thing happens if I try and make the matching changes to the outgoing SMTP settings. They appear to change until Thunderbird restarts at which point the old settings have been restored.

I needed to make this change to two PC's. One PC (a windows 11 PC) worked fine. The other (a windows 10 PC) consistently fails. The affected PC is using the latest Thunderbird ver 115.5.1.

What am I missing here? Why can't we change the Server settings?

I had a previous one version of Thunderbird, perhaps 50xx. All start when my gmail account doesn't want to work anymore. Seams was connecting and reading something, but not downloading anything and when try send something get error: "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again.". First I had smtp.googlemail.com when I get this message. I changed to smtp.gmail.com, changed different port 587, 465 but doesn't want work at all.

Then I upgrade the version to 60.5.1, but happen the same. Later I was curious to see if other email works, but not even hotmail, also a privat server 3em.it don't work. So all stop working. I delete the password from Saved logins, it asking again but receive same error message when try to send. When I try read gmail account is telling me that I have 4 emails for example but don't download anything!!!

I restarted Thunderbird even with Add-ons disabled and same happen. I don't know anymore what to do? Can I get some help?

I recently started using Thunderbird and have been impressed with the ease of use it has allowed for me to have multiple emails in one place.

But I have hit a problem with my hotmail account. I deleted all unwanted emails and then I sent the rest to an archive folder I had manually created, then I realised there was an archive folder within the hotmail account (still within thunderbird) so I selected all the emails and drag and dropped them into the proper archive folder. This created a list of folders ranging from 2012 to 2019.

Everything from 2012 to 2015 seems ok but everything from 2015 to the present is not showing and I'm not sure why, I have read through some other forum posts and managed to get into folders but am not confident in changing anything in case I make it worse. I'll attach a screenshot of the archive folder details.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Print screen was not working for some reason so a pic was taken.

For some reason I do not see my sent emails in my Unified inbox anymore. I do see the pink arrow that I replied but the reply does no longer show up in the thread.

I used to be able to see the entire thread including my replies but now I have to go to my Sent Folder to see what I replied to.

Something is not right and I would like to know how to fix this please.

Thanks,

Windows 10 (64 bit) Thunderbird 60.0b7 (64 bit) Just had an automatic Thunderbird email update. There was an "Option" to insure that my sent email was received at the required location. You would send a "ping" informing you, - Email received - Email "not" received When it comes to very important email's, this tool was a great asset. Why was this very important (secure) "Option" removed? Thanks

Internet provider is Comcast. I know the correct IMAP and SMTP port and SSL settings, but every day or so, I stop getting emails (either that I send to myself as a test or that I know someone has sent to me) because the correct port setting keep reverting to wrong port numbers. So I have to go to Account Settings, click Actions, choose Add Mail Account, enter my current email address and password, and wait for a message that tells me this account already exists. At this point, if I go to Manual Configuration, choose AutoDetect for both IMAP and SMTP SSLs, and click Re-test, the correct port numbers return. I click Done, and then I can receive incoming emails again -- sometimes for a couple of days, sometimes for only a few minutes, before the wrong port settings reinstall themselves and I have to go through the avoid steps again.

My mother uses Thunderbird on her PC. I set up an Apple iCloud account for her. Can she set up that email address on Thunderbird?

Also... she seems to think that Thunderbird is controlled by my brother, who initially set it all up for her. Can he see her emails somehow? Is Thunderbird a program ON her pc? or is it something he controls in a cloud somewhere?

Multiple Win 10 users all need to access the same Thunderbird profile containing 7 email accounts. Each user MUST have their own Win 10 login on our Domain. But they ALL must be able to access emails for 7 doctors. I know I can set up an one user of TBird with all 7 emails, but then I have to repeat the administration 13 TIMES for the other 13 users...any way to install the accounts like other "Public" items (e.g., "Desktop") in Win 10?

So I'm looking to install and administer TBird ONCE and have all Users access the ad ministered accounts/profile.

I have added multiple email accounts to Thunderbird numerous times. Tonight I added one with no problem. However, I tried to add another account and it would not take. That it, the semi-automatic set up screen failed to add the new account. I rechecked all settings many times and they were perfect. Yet Thunderbird won't let me add the account.

As a test I tried to add the account to the Windows 10 built-in email client. It worked flawlessly with the same settings I tried to use with Thunderbird.

This is driving me crazy. I really wish Thunderbird had a pure manual email account setup routine. I really don't like the automatic system of adding an account.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
