Can no longer send, reply to or forward any emails after update to 91.2.0 from TB 78. It affects all my email SMTP servers. It happens regardless of firewall setting, VPN or Safe Mode. I have tried the abook mab vs. sqlite route, but that does not work either. My abook remains empty. Manual entry of email addresses make no difference. When pressing SEND nothing happens.

The last update, 91.2.0, did not install correctly, and I could not send emails. After Uninstalling Thunderbird and reinstalling, Uninstalling McAfee, and resetting the Windows Defender, I still can not send emails. The latest update is installed. I can receive emails. I really don't want to switch to a different email "bundler," but I have spent 2 days, enlisted an IT professional and am at my wits end.

Do you have any suggestions?

Hello,

Thunderbird just updated to 91.2.0 on my Mac (OS Mojave) and when I opened it, my mail profile is gone. I've been trying to follow the steps here (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Recovering_a_profile_that_suddenly_disappeared) but Mozilla already links to a profile and I can't find the profile that used to be my mail profile.

Thanks so much!

I have several (pop) mail accounts and whenever a mail (for any account) would arrive on the server a notification icon would appear telling me for which account and how many. My machine is Win10. Since the automatic upgrade to TB91 this functionality has disappeared and now all that remains is a TB icon with a red dot telling me there are nn unread messages, leaving me to guess for which account(s). Can this be fixed in an early update?

(The problem is similar to Q1353312 but I did not want to join the mudthrowing...)

Hello

I just have upgraded from a very old mac to the newest. I like to update Thunderbird now from 17.0 to the latest version. However, if I use the "check for updates" in the about section of the old Thunderbird, it say's that I'm on the latest version ...?? I have downloaded and installed the latest Thunderbird, but this one did not migrate the data from the old Thunderbird. It asks me to setup new account. I also found an option to import data, but there is only the option to import from 3rd-party ...??? Please let me know how to upgrade; I need all my email accounts and conversations from my old 17.0 Thunderbird in the latest Thunderbird.

Thanx Lukas

Hi all!

Many thanks in advance for such a great product, I think Thunderbird is the best!

I'm running Thunderbird 78 32-bit on Windows 7 (2 Laptops and 2 Desktops) and all seems well.

Before I upgrade to Thunderbird 91.x 64-bit, should I uninstall the old version first?

I've been unable to find such advice searching here, but I am not very good at searching. I do say I have learned a great deal from y'all though.

Any related tips would also be welcome.

Thanks, Mike. P.S. Moving to Windows 10 and/or new PCs is not in my near future.

I've used ThunderBird for nearly a decade, my password has stayed the same. Now my TB password is wrong & I never changed it. I finally had to buy a new computer, can't transfer over TB because it keeps asking for a password. Transferring instructions works until I get to password. How can I resolve this hair pulling dilemma. I use AT&T for my email.

I have successfully migrated my profile from Mac to Windows. All of my stored emails and folders are present. I can receive and send email. There is just one problem. Thunderbird will not remember any passwords for the POP3 or SMTP server.

When I migrated the Thunderbird folder to the Windows machine, I did as instructed and deleted the pkcs11.txt file. The first time I started up Thunderbird I used the command line with the -p option to make sure the migrated profile was use instead of the program defaulting to creating a new one. Like magic, all of my old emails appeared, exactly as they had been on the Mac. Great success.

However, Thunderbird has not created a new pkcs11.txt file on the Windows machine. I am asked for the password everytime I check or send email. If I go into the Thunderbird preferences and look at the saved passwords list, it is blank. Everytime I enter a password I check the box to remember the password with the password manager, to no avail.

What are my next steps?

Hi-- Thunderbird auto-updated from v78.x to 91.2. I use POP and have a large folder structure with 15 GB of mail. v91.2 initially opened and functioned well, but eventually on this fully updated Win10 machine it stopped opening (there would be 4 Thunderbirds running in task manager, but nothing would appear on the screen). I tried starting offline, and also the other options of disabling addons and something like returning to defaults.

When I tried downloading v78.x again, that started to run, but told me that v91.2 had modified the profile and it would not work with v78.x

I'm guessing that my only option is to create a new profile and copy the .sbd directories, the .msf files and the other file with no extension to the new profile I've made. I've started to do that, and it all works.

Wondering if someone could explain to me what went wrong and if there are other options. What is so different about v90.x that it makes the profile unreadable by v78.x

Mozilla.

I need help. I am currently trying to move my father to Linux Mint from Windows 10. I am having great difficulty with email. I moved my father to Thunderbird as it came with Linux Mint and I am somewhat familiar with Thunderbird. I was wondering if you could help?

For starters a potential bug. It seems that Thunderbird may be deleting emails after they are moved to a folder. They certainly seem to go missing. He is dragging and dropping them to the folder list. If you open the target folder you can actually see them arrive and then disappear after a second. And they are gone from the In Mail folder. Using "Move to" works but is a big pain because he has lots of folders in a deep hierarchy. (And his hands shake so he may have to go back and start over.) If I can get my father's email imported, then I would also need instruction on how to sync everything with Gmail. (Yes, I have set Gmail to use the less safe options or whatever the setting is called and turned IMAP on.)

And I have a few feature requests: I was hoping you could make it so multiple vCard files could be imported at once. I would also like it so that my father's old emails could be imported by dragging and dropping them onto the folder pane. Lastly, my father would like it so the attachments popup, the one in grey at the bottom of a message, to be allowable to show up at the top of a message.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this email.
