Hello everyone, I've a question about (local) disk space for IMAP accounts. I have an IMAP account; at the beginning I've checked in "Synchronization & Storage" the flag "Keep messages in all folders for this account on this computer". After a while, after I had received many emails, I've unchecked this; I was expecting the disk space occupied by the account to be released, but it didn't happen. I've also checked in the "Advanced" button, just below the flag "Keep messages in all folders for this account on this computer", that every single folder is NOT checked for offline use.

How can I recover my disk space without losing any email?

In the Thunderbird email client, the subject line color of unread emails automatically changes from blue to black, even if I haven't opened them. This makes it difficult to distinguish unread emails, as both the sender's name and the subject line appear in bold black.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

I recently purchased a new computer and want to setup Thunderbird to use my ATT Yahoo mail account. I went through the automatic process and got an "incorrect information" message. I tried Yahoo's instructions and they don't match what shows up in the account setup in Thunderbird. I am stuck and need some step by step instructions to set this up. I use TB via MailWasherPro to receive emails. Some of the emails which arrive at MWP do not transfer to TB. I have looked in the spam etc boxes and they are not there. I have contacted MWP and they say the emails are only previewed in MWP and have no part in the transfer.

Maybe some settings in TB are not correct?

How do I report an issue with the way NVDA and Thunderbird interact? When I tab, I can't out of a link, and the focus does not move. If I tab to a link in a message then arrow down, I am where I expect, but then if I go to the top of the message, the tab focus remains where it was when I last hit the tab key. This is not standard behavior, but everyone else I've talked to seems to think it's behaving normally and has no tips for me on how to fix it.

My Macbook Pro has been crashing - sometimes Firefox, sometimes Thunderbird -sometimes multiple times/day. I've saved many of the crash reports in case they might help someone know how to fix this. An Apple tech person diagnosed my memory was broken, so I just got a new logic board and reinstalled all my data from my Time Machine backup. Then a message popped up that Thunderbird was damaged and should be put in the trash. Around the same time i replied to an email from someone at Thunderbird donor who was responding to a question i had about a small donation i tried to make - i explained i was having trouble with Thunderbird. At that time, i could see the Thunderbird icon in my task bar. When talking with someone from Apple support this evening who was helping me answer a couple of questions, including about a new "mail" icon that showed up in my task bar, I mentioned that i'd like to learn how to back up or archive my emails in Thunderbird. That's when i saw that the Thunderbird icon - had disappeared. The Apple support person and i searched all over my computer for the Thunderbird app, but couldn't find it. I'm really nervous. I have over 300,000 emails I've been wanting to learn how to archive - or something. I don't want to delete most of them. I hope someone can help me find everything. Thank you.

I tried switching over to the monthly release branch however none of my addons work.

Is there some major incompatibility introduced (aka WebExtensions)? I can not find any documentation anywhere as to what changed or why an extension would not work with 129+.

Also the release notes do not mention that 136 changes the Profile format, requiring a redownload of all messages from the server and therefore reindexing. This took several hours, only to find the addons don't work. Downgrading Thunderbird gives a profile error, and requires the `--allow-downgrade`switch to restore functionality. There should be a warning in the release notes regarding the one-way nature of the upgrade.

I recently upgraded my OS from WIN 8.1 to WIN 10.0. Previously, I had installed Thunderbird in order to download my Gmail messages etc and import them to TB locally for archival purposes. When I upgraded to WIN 10.0, it was a clean install so TB and all the data was deleted. I have backups of the Gmail files I previously imported to TB but it seems the instructions are not clear on how to get them back into TB locally. I want to be able to search and read these emails when needed, since I deleted them from the Gmail server

We are experiencing a certificate error. Under linux I get a message at the top of my screen telling me of the error and asking me if I want to override. That message does not show up under windows 11. Because the message does not show up we can not override. The problem is temporary but I need to get to the server as soon as possible. Please help.

Dear Team After Updating from 102.15.1 (32Bit) to 115.28.0 (32Bit) I can not connect to the provider "pop.hispeed.ch" anymore. Ping pop.hispeed.ch (on CMD) shows normal raction of beeing reachable with a "reply from xxxx.". I am on Windows 7 SP1. I have checked several times all setting POP and SMTP, switched off Firewall, uninstalled virus scanner, and and and many more (all knowledge found on internet..). Pressing the "Get Message" button in the upper menue bar shows no raction when pressed. The icon "Get Message" on the left side of the button "+ New Message" results in a none moving blue status bar at the right bottom of the window. After a while with the message "timed out.. ".In the settings "Config Editor.." the values of "mailnews.tcptimeout" are set to "300", and "true". I am using TB since donkey years with many many eMails. Are the lost? Get Messages doesn't work anymore. I created another profile with the same email address and it works fine. The issue is that I lost all my info, addresses, and most importantly the Calendar. I've been messing around with this all in trying to import that info into the new profile, but failing. I copied calendar-data to the new profile, but it doesn't show up. Can someone please help! When I try to send email, I get the message:

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.suddenlink.net failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

I do not know what this means. Sometimes when I shut Thunderbird down and restart it, I can send maybe one message successfully. If I then try to send another I get the message above. When I re-install T-bird, the same happens. Any help would be appreciated.

My work uses a 3rd party URL "defense" program, so every link that comes to me via e-mail is sent to that "defense" 3rd party, instead of directly.

The Thunderbird "link mistmatch" then activates *every time* I have links at work.

Looking online there *used* to be:

 mail.phishing.detection.mismatched_hosts

but it does not work any more.

None of the "phishing" settings prevent the link mismatch from appearing. I could not find any other "mismatch" settings.

How can I avoid this horrible annoyance???

Originally, when I clicked on he Thunderbird icon on my desktop, a box came up saying "File Not Found". Now I am getting in my email but the box still flashes just before my email comes on the screen. But now when I open my list of emails, the email comes up but thee is a red dot box surrounding the email. If I click on the email I get a Blue Box that says, "Link Location. Enter a web page location, or a local file, or select a Named Anchor or Heading from the field's context menu:" Then it list an "http.//" address and below that it says, "Choose a File", then "Attach the source of this link to the message." And a box the says, Advanced Edit...", and a box that says "OK" and one that says, "Cancel." I don't know what all that means. Also, on the "FROM" line of the email it has my name and my email address as if I sent it. My name and email address is also on the "TO" line. At the very bottom of the email, there is a yellow message that says, "A unique identity matching the From address was not found. The message will be sent using the current From field and settings from identity Wayne Haver <whaver@mynewroads.com> It doesn't do any good to send me an email

My Sent folder disappeared. How do I restore the folder with the sent messages still intact. Or, at the least, just restore an empty Sent folder. The In-Box, Drafts, and Trash are still there.

All the settings are correct, and it seems that because there's no Sent folder I cannot send an email. When I try to send a message I get the attached Error.

My local phone company routes email through Yahoo Mail, then to Thunderbird. It was all working fine until my Sent folder disappeared. Now because of the missing Sent folder I have to create the email message in Thunderbird saving it in Drafts so I have a record. Then, I have to copy it and send it from Yahoo Mail. Needless to say this is a pain in the you know what.

Can someone please provide the instructions to get my Sent folder back?
