We have not been able to retrieve emails on an Earthlink account since Nov. 7, 2022. I've worked with Earthlink for two days and they say everything at their end is working - contact Thunderbird. The procedure we have used successfully for about 20 years has been to access our MailWasherPro account, view the emails on their server, delete the "bad" ones, and then bring what's left into our Earthlink account on Thunderbird. Mailwasher also is working because I just went into it, cleaned out the junk from the last week, and tried to Get Messages on Thunderbird. It didn't work. The test messages the Earthlink technicians used came into Mailwasher so it's Thunderbird that appears to be the problem. I did not set up this system but it has worked for 20 years and we do not want to change it. So does anyone know why Thunderbird cannot Get Messages that it could retrieve a week ago???

When I send an email on my phone from one of my email accounts to another with attachments, the attachments only show in the sent folder of the sending account and in the receiving account the email is there and has the text etc but no attachments. EG: Email account 123@abc sends an email with attachments to email account 456@abc. Everything looks as it should in the sent folder of 123@abc but in the inbox of 456@abc the complete email is there minus the attachments. (Both email accounts are set up and used in thunderbird as well as the generic email app on my phone) Any ideas how to fix this issue?

I have an old laptop I rarely use (Windows 10 Home), but I hang on to it because of all the old files, pictures, email messages, and the like.

Today I was looking for an old email message, so I fired up the old computer for the first time in months, and Thunderbird began to update. It took quite a while (slow computer). When it finished, Thunderbird v 91.13 was prompting me to set up an email address. It was as if I was using Thunderbird for the first time. None of my old accounts, messages, or folders were anywhere to be found that I can see.

All I want is to be able to access the thousands of email messages and the dozens of folders that contained them when I used the previous version of Thunderbird.

What do I need to do to be looking at those folders, scrolling through the old email messages? I would be very grateful for any help.

I keep getting this message for every email I try to send out and they don't contain Spam but I'm blocked from sending out emails.

Sending of message failed

'An error occurred while sending the mail. The mail server responded: [VO-1]. Message blocked due to spam congtent in the message. Please check the message and try again. I get this with every message I try to send out even if it only contains one word like "Test."

How do I fix this?

I often save web pages in mhtml format and send them to e-mail recipients.

One thing that irks me no end is that Thunderbird insists on displaying the mhtml page in the body of my e-mail, inevitably totally screwing up the formatting and making my e-mail practically illegible.

My work-around has been to put the mhtml into a zip file to prevent this from happening. But the last time I did this, the recipient was unable to open the zip file. It seems to me there ought to be something in Settings that will allow me to prevent Thunderbird from inserting an attachment into the body of my e-mail. An attachment is an attachment. It should not automatically insert itself into the body of my e-mail text.

Is there a way to do this?

Which server in the hosts file do I need to block so that Thunderbird no longer checks for updates and is unable to update itself? Recently, it updated itself to version 102, which of course caused a total failure of Thunderbird. After restoring the system, I want to avoid further trouble.

Hi,

I recently made a change to the domain where my email is hosted. I forwarded my GoDaddy domain to a new WordPress website, but now I can no longer send/receive emails in ThunderBird. I changed the DNS in WordPress and they told me to reach out to you and make sure I have all the entries I need to make sure everything is working properly. Can you assist? I've added a photo of my DNS below.

I have reinstalled the app twice but still facing the same issue.

I have allowed cookies aas well but still getting same error.

Earlier, the issue was like once a week. Now it happens every hour.

I think it's when I reply to an email with black text on white paper, that my writing is black text on black paper. It's also happened the other way round - white text on white paper (background).

I updated Thunderbird to 102.0 without issue. A couple of updates later, I have102.5.0 installed and can't send email.

I either see the Send button dimmed, which means send is disabled, or the Send button appears normal but clicking it produces no effect - no email is sent. Trying to send with several different GMail and Microsoft Exchange accounts all has the same result.

I have tried

  • checking SMTP settings (all fine)
  • restarting Thunderbird
  • restarting my computer
  • reinstalling Thunderbird
  • reinstalling Thunderbird 102.0
  • sending from the same account(s) using webmail (this worked)
  • sending from the same account using another email client (this worked)

Clearly the issue is with Thunderbird, but I can't find any help item that covers this topic. Would much appreciate help or advice.

My setup:

  • Thunderbird 102.5.0
  • Macbook Pro M1 with Monterey 12.4

Any idea and option can do? Also we found that happend on inbox only of problem user. When we try to open the forward email copy on sent item, the eml email are display correct.

I recently switched from Windows 10 to Ubuntu 20.04 and noticed that unlike in Windows, drag & drop of mail attachments does not seem to be possible in Ubuntu. I don't get any error message when trying to drag & drop an attachment, e.g. onto my desktop. Just nothing happens.

This adds quite some overhead to my workflows - especially when I just want to upload an attachment via browser. In Windows, this was possible by just dragging & dropping the attachment from Thunderbird to my browser's file upload. Now I always need to download the attachment first before I can work with it on my file system.

Is that a known issue that can be fixed somehow?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had to change my password with provider Shaw. Now when I start Thunderbird e-mail, and it asks for my password, it does not remember it, even though when I look at the saved passwords, it is there. I have to enter my password every time. I can then access my e-mail accounts with Shaw, but it is a nuisance.

Any suggestions?

I am on Thunderbird 102.5.0 (32-bit) The authentication of my University of Glasgow e-mail account has to be change to OAuth2. I have tried to do so but there is a problem. When I try to change the Outgoing Server (SMPT) from Normal Password to OAuth2, the drop menu does NOT contain the option 'OAuth2'. The 'OAuth2' option is available in the Security Settings Authentication method drop menu.

I have made the recommended checks on cookies and java script etc. They are set as instructed.
