I am unable to download email for my Bell email accounts. For one of the two Bell accounts all messages disappeared. I get an error message saying saying the server's certificate is invalid.

I just bought a new desktop computer. It is a Lenovo using Windows 11. I downloaded Thunderbird (.exe) and attempted to install. The installation program does not recognize my credentials. I get an error message that says "Authentication error. Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." I have tried every variation I can think of, but no luck. I enlisted Best Buy Geek Squad, and over 2 hours later they have determined that the computer itself has no problems--it is Thunderbird that is refusing to recognize my credentials. I have 4 other devices--2 Iphones, an Ipad, and a laptop using Windows 10, and all have been, and still are, using Thunderbird with no issues. How do I get Thunderbird to recognize my credentials, which are valid on 4 other devices?

We have used mobile.charter,net for our emails since we signed up for your product. Now my husband gets the mobile.charter.net "certificate is not from a trusted source" error when Modzilla is retrieving emails. I have the same email provider, and do not get the error message from Modzilla. Can you help us correct this problem?

Receive popup message: The certificate for mobile.charter.net does not come from a trusted source. In trying to send email, popup message: Sending the email failed. Peer's Certificate issuer is not recognized. The configuration related to mobile.charter.net must be corrected. Then it wants me to Add Security, Get Certificate.

I have three separate Yahoo email accounts. I set up Thunderbird to link to each Yahoo email account separately. It worked fine for a year or more. On 5/25/26 one of the three Thunderbird email accounts stopped downloading emails from Yahoo. I could see at the bottom bar Thunderbird indicating that is was downloading 1 of XX emails, but never actually downloads them. There is no error message. I checked the Yahoo email account to verify the number of emails I am missing from Thunderbird and the number is correct. I can see the emails in Yahoo. I'm the only person using Thunderbird, so no changes have been made to previous settings for retrieval. I confirmed Security and server settings for Thunderbird in and out going emails, and Yahoo are correct. I tested the connection in Thunderbird, and the connection is successful. I tried to send an email from the Thunderbird account having issues, and the email was sent and received by the recipient. The recipient replied, and Yahoo received the email, but failed to download it to Thunderbird...along with all the other emails since 5/25/26. I unlinked the account and reestablished the link between Yahoo and Thunderbird, and still not fixed. I tried restarting the computer, with no change. I tried to send an email from Thunderbird to one of the other Thunderbird emails and it was sent and received. I made changes to Thunderbird to force the download of emails, and it still wouldn't do it. I turned off my antivirus, closed Thunderbird, and restarted it, and that didn't change anything. The capacity of emails on the email in question only has 739 emails, so it's not over the limit and I have plenty of storage capacity. Thunderbird is set to save emails, Cookies and cache were cleared, no change. I ran the folder repair feature in Thunderbird, but there was no change. I compared all the settings between the other Thunderbird emails that are working against the one that isn't, and they are all the same. There was a suggestion to close out of Thunderbird and delete the "Global-message-db.sqite" file from the Thunderbird profile in case it was corrupted, and it would recreate this file when Thunderbird was restarted. The file was recreated, but it didn't fix the problem. There was mention that a suspicious email in Yahoo might be blocked by Thunderbird, so I placed various emails in the spam folder, and it didn't work. I did find one email in the Yahoo spam folder that was dated before 5/25/26 and moved it to the Yahoo inbox. Lo and behold, that one email downloaded to Thunderbird. So there is something within Thunderbird preventing emails from downloading after 5/25/26. I've read many people complain about similar download failures with no solid fix. Someone mentioned it fixed itself on a day, but then stopped again days later. Someone else mentioned Yahoo changed its password protocol to transfer emails, but that doesn't make sense since the other two are still downloading based on the "old" password protocol. I'm at wits' end. Thanks for reading all of this. I hope someone has a solution.

When all the comcast accounts migrated to yahoo, there wasn't supposed to be a change but I cannot send or receive messages through Thunderbird. I deleted my old passwords and tried to use the one that works at yahoo but it is not working.

Apparently I also have 3 thunderbirds running on my machine .  I don't know how to get rid of the old ones

I also got an error message that says 151.0.4 is not compatible with 151.0.3

My Yahoo account on Thunderbird sees no email found.

My eMail Providers: Yahoo, AOL, Gmail.

AOL and Gmail(2 accounts) work fine. Only Yahoo doesn't respond. As you can see in the attached screen shot, it shows a "No Messages Found" message.

I have tried everything listed in the support page.

I'm sure it is something simple but I can't see it.

As of this morning I am no longer able to download or send email via my Spectrum email account. A warning message appears next to the account name reading 'The certificate for mobile.charter.net:993 does not come from a trusted source.' The section from the View Certificate page makes it seem like the certificate should be valid:

Spectrum of course says it's an issue with my email client. Adding an exception for mobile.charter.net does work, but that doesn't seem like a good long-term solution. When I attemt to get a certificate for the server, I get a 'No Information Available - Unable to obtain identification status for this site'. I am not using a mail scanner and my only anti-virus is Windows 11 built-in Virus & Threat Protection. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi I am Unable to send e-mails (only receive) after adding a 3rd account to my thunderbird, a microsoft e-mail (the other 2 are gmx and my old work e-mail). This is my private laptop. I tried tons of troubleshootings incl. deleting passwords, triple checking all settings (they are all correct), but I always get a pop up with "Login to server smtp.office365.com with username ... failed" when trying to send an e-mail. When I click on enter new password it just tries to send the e-mail again, which fails, so unable to enter anything.

"Thunderbird est mis à jour par une autre instance" et il est impossible de le modifier car si on on choisit de le faire, le logiciel thunderbird corrige immédiatement et retourne à la configuration précédente (solutions/choix à cocher, mises à jour automatiques ou manuelles) !

Email not working on my desktop. Using Edge 11, Settings show certificate for mobile.charter.net:993 does not come from a trusted source. I can not send or receive email on my desktop. This started this morning. I have not made any changes to my computer, but did do an Edge update. I can check my email on my cellphone if there is a fix.

This just all the sudden started happening for my charter email account, I haven't changed any settings, the font turned red and can't receive the emails. I have mail washer and see the emails, they not from anyone shady. got a couple screen shots. Thanks

Mozilla suddenly says "The certificate for mobile.charter.net does not come from a trusted source." It will not let me get my emails. Is this a problem with Thunderbird or Charter (Spectrum) I am able to receive email on my I Phone. I do not know which Thunderbird version and can't find it using your instructions. Help please

I'm using a Galaxy22 and have T/b for Android installed and ready to go. I've followed all the directions to import everything from my T/b on my desktop, which is the latest as I do automatic updates. But when I open T/b for Android, I see something called "unified inbox" with absolutely nothing in it, just a blank screen and a "compose message" icon on the bottom right. Where's my stuff? Please help! I can't handle Samsung email anymore, it won't send out any messages.

Hello, I face a problem with my email provider. I received an email and I can see 2 dates-hours in the emails platform of my provider (coprmail Cosmote, Athens, Greece). Specifically, 111:24 am and 12:06 pm. In Thunderbird, for the same email account, the column Date shows the value 12:06 pm. This caused other problem. In search I made, in the emails platform of my provider, for the same email, I have 11:24 am and in the preview window of the body of the email shows 12:06 pm. In my question to the provider, why this happened, I received the answer that the message received at their email server at 11:24 am, and the other date, 12:06 pm is the hour that the sender sent the email. I can understand that the PC of the sender could had wrong date+hour, but what is happend with thunderbird? So, my question to the community is: In the table list of emails in Thunderbird, the column Date what does it mean? I am waiting for receiving your reply. When I forward email chains containing more than one email, the attachments will not appear for the recipient.

Once when forwarding the same chain a second time, the attachments did then show up.

I have set up Thunderbird with a Zimbra mail serveur (Zimbra serveur 10.1.10_GA_4785) using the EWS new feature of Thunderbird.

I can setup the EWS account. The test of the secured connection to the server is returned valid. But in the mailbox, the list of folder is empty, and I see no email. Interestingly, I can successfully send email from this thunderbird using the exchange server as sending server.

To resume, no emails are received, but sending emails works.

PS : I confirm the EWS connection with the Zimbra serveur by successfully using EWS on Outlook for android.

I use Thunderbird when Postbox acquired another. I am using 2 computers - desktop, old (10+ years), still Windows 10, and 2 two emails; new laptop (traveling), Windows 11. I download Thunderbird and set up my accounts - gmail.com and twc.com. Troubles with gmail.com, but finally I set up. However, I can't set up twc.com. I like twc.com-- no reason. (Time Warner Cable (twc) bought Spectrum. ) I can login twc.com webmail. Not Thunderbird. I looked carefully set up, Thunderbird searched, found "Host: mobile.charter.net" (Huh?, , continue, enter my password - "Error: ---". I removed VPN Windows 11, no difference. (Curios, my laptop and Firefox, my bank rejected connection. My desktop and Firefox still connects! I dread the day must update.)
