The inbox font in the Thunderbird email client on my Mac is super tiny, and it's very hard to read. I can't figure out how to make it larger. Is there a way to do this? I really like Thunderbird so far, but if I can't read it, I can't use it.

Thanks! Mark

When I delete a message from the inbox listing of messages then, of course, all the messages below it move up. But a problem occurs if the message that then occupies the place of the deleted message in the list was previously unread (bold). What happens is that Thunderbird immediately un-bolds that message so that the message no longer appears as an unread (bold) message, even though I haven't opened it.

Resetting default actions for attachments in TB 78.7.0 on macOS 10.14.6

Hello TB gurus:

I'm Bob Shimizu, and I have two problems.

1) When I tried to "open with" on a file attachment, I mistakenly chose the wrong application. In this case I tried to open a .pdf in Excel. Obviously that won't work, so I tried to reset it. Following a search, I found this page: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Actions_for_attachment_file_types. It instructed me to open my profile and delete mimeTypes.rdf.

I think that the doc is behind the release, because when I search in my Profile, I can find no such file. So, I'm stuck and now I have to save the file and open it with the right app rather than opening it IN TB. Bummer.

2) In 78.7.0 I can no longer change the color of text in an email, which I find very useful. Yes, you can choose colors in a number of ways, via a circular "spectrum" or a selection of colored pencils, but the color you select actually won't work. Bummer again.

Help, please? Sincerely, Bob

I would like to use a filter to forward emails to a list that I have created, allowing me to add to or remove addresses from the list for maintenance purposes.

I have tried the same syntax that works in the To, CC or BCC fields, but I always am told to enter a valid email address in the "Forward Message To" option.

Dear all,

I find that the folders other than "Inbox" are not automatically synchronized therefore the new messages are not notified. In the "Folder Properties", I already checked "When getting new messages for this account, always check this folder", but the new messages are only checked manually.

I guess that this is related to the PUSH notification of my IMAP account. I wonder whether there are ways to make this automatic. I use "K-9 Mail" on my Android device which checks these folders automatically if properly configured. I don't think that this is a deficient of PUSH notification.

I am using Thunderbird 91.0b3 (64-bit) on Linux Mint 20.1 running XFCE 4.14.3

I am trying to set TB to open a PDF attachment in the external system viewer Xreader.

I have tried the following:-

1) edited the mimeTypes.rdf file with the correct lines for a PDF (https://termbin.com/qwpf).

2) deleted the mimeTypes.rdf file and tried to set it in Preferences.

3) edited user.js

In Firefox there is a well documented way (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/view-pdf-files-firefox) to set this up but I could not find the same for Thunderbird... why not?

Which magic file is it??

Is it mimeTypes.rdf or user.js or handlers.json ?!

Hope anyone can help.

How can the contents of the local folders (e.g. Topic 1, Topic 2) on 2 PCs in the local network be automatically synchronized? Example: I move a mail in TB on PC 1 from the inbox in account 1 to the local topic 1 folder, and another mail from the account 2 inbox to the local topic 1 folder as well. I would like these two mails in TB on PC 2 to be found there in the local Topic 1 folder.

What do I have to do?

I have spent a while reviewing the suggestions for how to make Thunderbird's interface font size bigger, and have concluded that this is not possible. The most common suggestion was CSS changes in chrome/userChrome.css but these are universally ignored (some users reported that it increases line-spacing but not font size).

In effect, we're stuck with what we get. The developers — after 20 years of users begging for the facility — have decided that what suits their visual acuity will have to do for everyone else. It's unclear why this feature is so hard for them to add.

THERE IS NO WAY TO CHANGE THE INTERFACE FONT SIZE IN THUNDERBIRD. NOT AT ALL. IT'S FIXED.
