Please Someone help ?

I have followed all the suggestions I can find, but my Thunderbird Calendar will not sync with the Outlook Calendar on Windows 11. I am using TB Sync, but every time I try to add my Outlook Calendar ? It refuses to accept my Password, even though it is correct, and the User name and email are too ! It shows as error code 401, and cannot authenticate ?

I have tried a suggestion to create an 'App Password' to use in my Microsoft account, but the options described do not exist in my account !

Can anyone please help ?

Hello and THANK YOU for Thunderbird and I am looking so forward to getting off Outlook! I am about 4/5 way through setting it up on my desktop.

I currently keep my calendar on Outlook. I have been able to import my folders, contacts and mail, but when I go to import the Calendar, the box on import cannot be selected. Is there something else that I need to do to bring over my calendar? Did I miss step when I did the initial set up?

I have a Google Calendar, in which I manage My Tasks. I can't see my existing tasks in Thunderbird, and I can't add new tasks to the Google Calendar. New Task in Thunderbird is greyed out and the field next to it has the writing: "Please select a calendar that supports tasks".

I have seen that many had the same issue and understood that it is linked to how My Tasks in Google Calendar itself works. Is there really no workaround whatsoever?

If not, how can I manage tasks and share them with someone else (who uses Google Calendar or Apple Calendar, but does not use Thunderbird)?

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Google calendar allows color-coding of events - but the display is highly inadequate. T-bird 128 calendar apparently HAS no option to color events. But events are FAR easier to see WHEN color-highlighted. Would this be a difficult option??

Hello, I want to change first day of the week to Monday (who on earth would have Sunday as the fist work day??) Problem: All instructions online are useless since there is no "Options" / no "Preferences" / in Settings there is no "Calendar" or anything referring to Calendar. Under Settings there is only General, Composition, Privacy & Security, Chat and Export for Mobile. Nothing for Calendar. Also in Calendar view ... nothing to change days order. All online articles seem to be outdated (2021 and older)and don't apply anymore. Someone advised the reboot Thunderbird ... ? How to do that? Just close it down at the X?

Please help.

Thanks

Like the subject says 'updated from 115 to 128.1.1esr and now (icloud) calendars wont sync'

I understand tb doesnt need tbsync anymore, do i remove these? When i try and enable the calendar function, a 'authentication required' windows opens up with username and password. But fails when the correct information is entered. I read where you can go to google, which i did, and get the required information, but that fails also.

How can I sync the new 128.1.1esr with my icloud calendars?

Thanks!

For years I have used the extension 'Calendar Tweaks' because it colorizes the entire event in the calendar. This extension is no longer compatible with versions of Thunderbird after 74 so I have stop updation after Version 69. However in resolving problems with authorization I needed to update to the current Version of Thunderbird so my events in the calendar now just show the category color at the edge of the box instead of the entire box. Is there a way in Thunderbird to colorize the entire event box or another extension that does this.

I am using Thunderbird Supernova and am pretty happy with it. However, I cannot figure out how to specify a different time zone than the system timezone when creating an event. For example, if I just bought a flight that departs at 4PM London time and I am in Miami when creating the event, how can I create this event without having to convert that time to my current time?

Surely this is possible but I can't figure out how. Thanks for any help!

I'm just starting to use Calendar in the latest version of TB. I see that you can add little category color bars to each event. I tried to add a new category, but it disappeared from the dropdown menu as soon as I added it and a color bar never appeared in the event on the calendar display. How can I add and subtract categories? Can I change the colors assigned to categories?

I was browsing this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/adding-a-holiday-calendar

Which says:

  • Select "On the Network", and click "Next".
  • From the Format list, select iCalendar (ICS).

But when I select "On the Network" I see no options for file format (TB 138).

Is subscribing to remote ics files still supported, or must we download the files locally and subscribe to them there?

I believe I have noticed a change in the operation of Calendar Event notifications, following recent updates to Thunderbird, in the past week or more. I am currently on release 137.0.2 (64-bit) running on a Linux Desktop. This computer gets shut down every night, and rebooted the following morning. When a calendar reminder has been snoozed, and the snooze time expires when the computer is not running, and Thunderbird is not running, those calendar reminders used to show up the next time Thunderbird was started after the computer was rebooted, even if the calendar event time had already passed. In the last week or so, following recent updates, I believe this is no longer happening.

Also, I believe that calendar events that have reminders set, that have not been snoozed, whose reminder time happens when the computer is shut down, are also not being shown reminders the next time the computer is started, if the reminder time happened when Thunderbird was not running. This is also a change from the way it used to work. For example, if an event is marked as starting at 10:00 AM, with a reminder set for 2 hours before (which would be 8 AM), and the computer is booted and Thunderbird is started at 8:30 AM, that reminder no longer happens. That is a change from the way it used to work. A few weeks ago, in that scenario, the reminder would have been shown the next time Thunderbird started up.

I have been very happy using Thunderbird to access the email account of my volunteer position, I have always used the Email, Calendar and Task feature. I have the automatic updates setup on Thunderbird and until recently had no issues at all, until the last update. When Thunderbird first started with the newest update the calendar details were visible and then Thunderbird disabled the Calendar and Task and no matter how many time I click the Enable button or edit the properties to say enable Thunderbird immeadiately sets it back to Disabled. I have uninstalled Thunderbird, and relinstalled an older version - problem there doesn't seem to be a profile to match, so I just kept manually updating Thunderbird to a newer update until the absolute latest, but there were issues with the profiles again. I then uninstalled and installed the latest version available directly from the website and was able to get another profile to work for my local folders - I had saved some docs locally to conserve disk space on the email server. But no matter what I cannot get the calendar to work at all. There are no posts that cover this particular situation. Any idea how to fix this???? Thank you to anyone that offers assistance with this issue.

Email invites not sent

Thunderbird 115.6.1 (32-bit) on Win 10 and Win 11, local calendar, no email invites are sent to the listed Attendees. Correct email is entered on Calendar/Properties/Email and Notify attendees is ticked on New Event dialogue. Attendees are correctly entered under New Event/Invite Attendees. After clicking Save and Close, there is no Invitation email record in "Sent" emails and the Attendees do not receive email invitations. The event *is* saved in the originator's calendar.

The invites were correctly sent on the Win 10 PC up until TB version 113 (?), when they stopped working after the update (I think). Eventually email and calendar data were transferred to a fresh TB installation on a Win 11 PC, but the invites are still not sent.

The only difference that I can see between this non-email-invite-sending version of TB on a WIn 11 PC and another Win 10 PC where the invites are sent, is that "Troubleshooting Information/Force Email Scheduling" is set to true on the non-working version and is blank on the working one. Clues where to look next?

Hello community!

I use Thunderbird desktop for two emails: personal outlook.com (ms365 or whatever ma calls it) and school exchange account.

Exchange works fine using owl and is able to sync calendar correctly. For personal email, it appears I can only connect via imap instead of MS’s protocol, which limits its ability to sync calendar. I’m wondering if there’s a way to login personal ms email similar to exchange to sync calendar etc.?

Thx in advance for ur help :-)

Hi,

Someone sends me a calendar appointment for 11th of May at 16:30-18:30 and another at 18:30:20:30. I accept these appointments. In my calendar, they correctly display at these times.

When I close and re-open Thunderbird, the first appointment is now scheduled for 12th of May, but the second is fine. When I close and re-open Thunderbird again, the second appointment is now scheduled for 12th of May as well.

The times are completely different too.

I'm using Thunderbird 138 from the Arch Linux repositories but I've also tried the Flatpak package to no avail. I've tried setting my Timezone manually and using my System timezone to no avail.

GNOME Calendar, which is also synced to my Caldav server, displays the appointments at the correct day and time. The web interface for my mail server also displays correctly.

It's only Thunderbird that screws it up time and time again.

This has been going on for years and it is driving me insane. I can't use my calendar with Thunderbird because I keep thinking my appointments are at the wrong time!

Send help.

I am trying to create two separate calendars in Thunderbird. I would like one calendar to contain holidays, birthdays, etc. The other I would like to contain a list of daily tasks to be completed. I started by creating the holiday/birthday calendar and was mostly successful. I figured out how to create a new calendar; however, I do not know how to make it blank so that I can start adding my to-do lists. The new calendar appears to be a duplicate of the first calendar, with all of the entries I had put into the first calendar, instead of a new, blank calendar on which to make new entries. How can I make a new blank calendar?
