I have Thunderbird version 78.10.2

I don't receive the e-mails from my Free provider. My provider doesn't detect any problem with its servers.

I checked all parametres and they are good.

Can you help me with this problem ?

Hi, i have the problem that i have a open email in a seperate tab that courses thunderbird to crash every time the tab gets loaded on startup. dose someone know witch file to delete in the profile foulder to reset the opend email tabs?

update: after some browsing the forum i found out that the relevant information are safed in season.json. after editing out the email tab creating the issue tunderbird just starts fine

Hello, my client access Gmail with Thunderbird, cant send mails after 2021/5/28 suddenly, but receiving mails is ok. When he send mail, Thunderbird will show "Sending of message failed" messagebox, and no other informations. In Google admin->email log search, cant found records of sending failed mails, so it should not be blocked by Gmail. I guess it may caused by Thunderbird SMTP setting, so we tried many solutions, but no help :( He's OS is Win10, using Avira AntiVirus, Thunderbird version is 78.10.2, no add-ons, and attached images are SMTP settings. The following are solutions i tried:

1. Login Gmail, send email success 2. Create other account in Thunderbird, and send email failed 3. Create other account in outlook, and send email success (but he has to use Thunderbird, for some reason) 4. Delete SMTP password and reset it, no use 5. Account Settings->Outgoing Server(SMTP)->Connection security = None, Authentication method = No authentication, no use 6. Stop Avira AntiVirus real time protection, no use 7. Create log file(SMTP and IMAP), but both two log files are empty, ref : https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging#Generating_a_Protocol_Log 8. Reinstall Thunderbird, no use 9. Reinstall Thunderbird, delete account and add it back, no use 10. Use Config Editor to set security.tls.version.min = 1, no use 11. Reset Google account's password, no use 12. Enable less secure apps to access Gmail, no use 13. Enable IMAP Access in Gmail settings, no use

Was there any other solutions, or some methods to get detail logs? Thanks for helping.

We have some contact forms on our website that often come in containing junk. Suddenly Thunderbird has started permanently deleting these messages almost immediately they arrive, which isn't good for the few that actually contain valid information. I don't know why this is happening: my junk settings were set to move messages to the Junk folder, but they're not going in there, nor are they going into the Trash folder. I tried removing the email account from Thunderbird and adding it again, and I've tried disabling adaptive junk settings for the account. The behaviour doesn't change. In desperation, I created a new email address and directed the forms to the new address. This works and they do not get deleted, but it's not ideal for me to have to check two accounts, especially if I am on a different device. Even if I copy the emails from the new account into my regular account, they are deleted almost instantly. Does anyone have any idea how I can stop this from happening?

Thunderbird 78.10.1 on Windows 10

I inadvertently permanently deleted a large number of message from my local eBay folder. I have a backup of the folder and its associated eBay.msf file. However, when I copy the backed up folder and eBay.msf files back into the local folder, the messages are not displayed. If I run a repair on the folder, the eBay.msf file goes to 0 bytes and I still see no messages.

I have also tried restoring the entire profile to a separate location and opening the eBay folder. Same problem. All other folders and messages in the backup are intact.

Aside from Repair Folder, are there any other options to recover these messages?

I have been using Thunderbird for at least 8 years without any problems. Today I tried sending an email. The following dialog box popped up: "An error occurred while sending email. The mail server responded 5.7.1 spam detected by content scanner. Message rejected. Please check the message and try again." I have never seen this before. I would greatly appreciate if anyone has information about how to avoid this--what I sent was definitely not spam. Thank you, Nina

I've been having a problem for a while now with important events suddenly disappearing from my Thunderbird Calendar and reminder window. I'm only noticing the important events that have active reminders suddenly disappearing because I'm aware of those events but no telling how many other events are going missing also. I can't continue using a calendar that randomly deletes events. Anyone else having this problem or know of a solution?

I can't find a thesaurus option, nor a thesaurus add on. Am I missing something? How that that be the case for an application that is built upon users writing text (often in a professional capacity)?

I just discovered that my recent update to Thunderbird 78.8.1 (I'm not sure what my previous version was) completely broke PGP. I discovered this when I was not prompted to enter my password when sending a sensitive email message; instead, Thunderbird simply sent it in plain text. I hope that you can understand that I am upset and disappointed in your developers as that is an unacceptable failure mode.

For the last number of years, I have been using Thunderbird + Enigmail. It generally worked well. I understand that you now have native support for PGP inside Thunderbird and have disabled Enigmail. I tried to "migrate" my keyring from OpenPGP to Thunderbird (I don't know why Thunderbird now needs its own keyring, but I'll worry about that later) and successfully imported the key for my primary email account: it appears in your "OpenPGP Key Manager". However, Thunderbird doesn't recognize it as a key for that account: under the "End-To-End Encryption" section of "Account Settings" for my account, I still get "Thunderbird doesn't have a personal OpenPGP key for <me@domain.tld>". I do not see any way for me to override whatever broken detection algorithm it's using and select a key manually.

There is no email address mismatch; this is the same email account configuration and key that I've been successfully using with Enigmail for years.

I have not been able to locate any help for this problem in Mozilla's forums or elsewhere on the Internet. Please advise on how I can work around this problem.

Can someone provide me with some help and advice, please. I have been using Thunderbird 78 for about six months after being a long term user of Eudora. I use it to download and send messages on four different email accounts. Recently I came across Alexander Bergmann’s Mail Merge Add-on. I have downloaded Mail Merge 7.4.0 and installed it on my desktop PC which runs Win10. I have restarted Win10 after the down load and install.

The variables needed for the messages I wish to create in Thunderbird are contained in a csv file. I think I have followed the instructions which come with the add on.

When creating the message template I have followed the instruction to hit Tab after entering the {{Email}} variable in the ‘To’ field. So far I have had no success in getting Thunderbird to create the merged messages using the variables in the csv file.

Mail Merge is not listed in the File drop down menu. I have tried removing the Mail merge add on and reinstalling it. ‘Mail Merge’ is still absent for the File menu.

I am contemplating having to reinstall Thunderbird but am reluctant to do this as I am not sure how to retain the downloaded messages from the four different email systems which Thunderbird manages for me.

Is it possible to combine the two address books into one? I want to print out a complete set of addresses

Received usual "latest update" and installed. Instead of normal update sequence 78.10.2 installed as new and appears to have deleted all my business emails including orders, ongoing correspondance, filters and 90% of my Address Book including all my mailing lists.

How do I recover?

Am now using TB 38.5.1 to receive/send emails but need to get back to 78.10.1

Is there a user manual, for this add on? What does "Calculate ages for birthdays within a period of.nn.years" do? How do I add anniversaries, to the reminder list?
