Hello,

after a restart all the emails that were present in the inbox folder have been duplicated.

If I delete one entry, the other entry stays - even after I empty the recycle bin. Compacting/Repairing/deleting mfs Files/sqllite Files changes nothing, as does update to this current version 78 (came from 68)

New emails are unaffected, it seems to be an one time event, that corrupted somthing, which leads to this.

It is more of a nuisance, but i would like to understand and fix it.

- the restart was due to a crash of the computer - the crash happened the moment the clock was adjusted for daylight saving (-1 hour)

This might or might not contributed (probably has though).

My guess is, that either this is some sort of cross-join (but then I would not be able to delete one and keep the other) or really the content of to seperate inbox-Files that are indexed togeter?

Does anybod has an idea?

I use the RSS feeds a lot, I would like to set a message filter where Thunderbird automatically saves all attachments of a specific rss feed to a selected file folder.

I installed the FiltaQuila extension where I can set to save all attachments to a selected file folder. Now the problem is that all these saved attachments are empty [0kB]

The extension was only tested on MailFolders not on RSS-feeds, can that be the problem? Can Mozilla feature this function in the future?

Hallo,

Danke. Micha

Hi All, With TBD 68.12.1 (32-bit) I experienced problems syncing google contacts - especially groups. As Addons I used gContactSync and Provider for Google Calendar.

I wasn't aware that with TBD 78.4.0 (32-bit) there are no Addons that would sync Google contacts and calendar entries. Currently, I see still all my mails accounts and all the mails and the contacts. But syncing contacts with Google does not work anymore nor do I see my calendar entries.

Now, I decided to re-install TBD 68.12.1 (32-bit), but the procedure I found did not work - I was asked for a new profile, which to my understanding would include setting up all my mails accounts from scratch.

Can anyone help me to get back to TBD 68.12.1 (32-bit) without loosing my data?

Thanks! Martin

Stop password memory for Yahoo and Gmail

I have been a regular user of Thunderbird for fifteen years. Every morning I enter passwords on Thunderbird for email on Webmail, Yahoo, Sympatico, Bell Canada and Gmail.

This routine has been disrupted after I upgraded Thunderbird to version 78.4.0 (32-bit).

I find now that my passwords are no longer required for Yahoo and Gmail. I have several times removed the remembered passwords in the Thunderbird Options>Privacy & Security dialogue for those two providers but the password memory persists.

I have two Yahoo accounts in Thunderbird. Their server name is imap.mail.yahoo.com.

When I sign on to the first one I am careful to remove the check mark from the “Stay signed On”. I receive a response in Thunderbird that a new Yahoo signon has occurred.

The second Yahoo account can receive email but when I send a message to it from Thunderbird the message is not delivered. I receive a notice that sending of the message failed because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.mail.yahoo.com was lost in the middle of the transaction.

Please tell me how to escape from this troubling problem.

Thanks

Thunderbird version 78.4.0

The Reminder window doesn't close automatically even when all the events / tasks have been dismissed and closed. The empty reminder popup stays on screen and needs to be actively closed with an extra mouse click. This used to work in version 68. Anybody else having the same issue? Thank you

Yesterday I updated TB and things were fine it seems, I don't really like the new look and the searching for emails remains impotent, like before.

Sadly, I still must to go do my native client eg. Yahoo, Outlook, or Gmail to actually find emails because the layout and results within TB are not only horrible but it rarely yields the results I am looking for despite knowing the email is there.

Each and every day using TB is overwhelmingly frustrating should I want to do anything other than compose the occasional email and delete unnecessary emails that I have in some of the my 10+ email accounts with many folders in each. Even spell checking is mediocre with TB. Windows Live Mail was so much more efficient and simple to use. And of course, let's not forget about the Outlook Live email client.

Even finding my way back here to the Mozilla Support forums was difficult in trying to find the option to POST (Ask) a Question. I kept on only being able to view people's quesions and respond to them, I couldn't post. I managed to select a hyperlink and then there happened to be an option to Ask a Question.

Why, I don't understand Mozilla makes things very difficult for some reason. Up until recently, FF was consistently slowly than Chrome when running speed tests. They fixed this but when I was forced to upgrade to version 82 the speeds have dropped again compared to 81.02 but it's not that bad. It's not as fast as Chrome who have done a great job and even blocked your Video Card from revealed to sites. FF still lags, but overall, has much better security features, I think, but at a cost of speed performance.

I bring all this up because all this has added unnecessarily to my PTDS and mental state. It's very frustrating in working with Mozilla.

Anyway, the main issue today is how moments ago I went to a special folder an IT friend last year set up for me that had all my UNREAD emails show up from ALL my accounts and folders. It was my go to folder where I can see each NEW UNREAD email that I received grouped into one folder

When I went to the folder earlier, the entire folder, just like that, disappeared without a trace in front of my eyes. I searched everywhere for it, but it just disappeared. It was conveniently located in my FAVORITES section within the UNREAD Folders category.

Does anyone know how I can get this back? I imagine I would have to recreate the folder. I wonder if my issue is a bug in 74.4.0 (32 bit). I should be using 64 bit, shouldn't I?

I'd appreciate if someone can explain to me like I'm a 5 year old. I don't have the same mindset as the typical Mozilla user(s). Thanks.

Using: Thunderbird 78.4.0 (32-bit)

Uninstall last build of TB and fresh install of 78.4.0

On sending my first email I had a catastrophic fail, with the end action a Thunderbird fail and restart.

After restart I checked all options and of course that spell-checking was enabled. It is not working. I specially left a misspelled word in every line of the email and it will not see or correct a single item.

I also turned on spell-check before sending and again it doesn't find or correct anything. I tested 3 times with different variables and spell-check never corrected anything during or after completing the email.

Note. Here on the web-site the spell-checking is working very well (of course it has nothing to do with the actual TB program.
