Windows 10 22H2, Thunderbird 115.5

Thunderbird periodically loses my saved passwords (11 accounts) necessitating the re-entry of said passwords. This has been happening for about six to eight months.

I have searched for solutions and have tried deleting the pkcs11.txt and secmod.db files but the problem reoccurs. There is no rhyme or reason as to how often this happens. If I new where the passwords were stored, I could copy the good password file back into the thunderbird directory.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have spent the last TWO HOURS trying to find an answer to what should be a simple problem, and it seems not to exist!

I need to find out WHERE Firebird lists my email account PASSWORD.

I do NOT want to reset my password.

I simple need to know WHAT my password is, and since I set up the account [actually a few accounts] several years ago, my notes are evidently null and void, because none of those passwords seem to work.

My email is through verizon.net, which is one of the problems because they gave all of their email coltrol to AOL, which thouroughly sucks, and they seem not to have anyone who speaks fluent English who can assist me in FINDING the current password!

If ANYONE can help, it would be most greatly appreciated!!

I'm having trouble with my Thunderbird password. I have 2 emails with identical settings and passwords. One works fine. The other's asking me for my password. When I enter what I knew for certain was the password I get the message, "Login to server imap.comcast.net with username weissfamily@comcast.net failed." I successfully changed the password still get the same error message. Also I get a Thunderbird popup that says, "Alert from account weissfamily@comcast.net: 1014." This is all above my pay grade. Hello, I have recently installed an updated version of Mozilla Thunderbird as my old account kept telling me that my settings were out dated. Having installed it I am still getting the same message. Please will you advise me which settings and how do I go about updating them. Many thanks.

I had setup a master password.

I forgot it ...now I can sign in to Thunderbird.

Can you please remove the master password Or show how to deal with this.

A hacker has messed with Thunderbird. To cover his tracks he has cloaked the contents of some folders, perhaps using threads. There are !messages but they are invisible. Any ideas?

Can anyone tell me how to blacklist incoming emails from selected addresses?

I can get T-bird to send unwanted emails to the "Junk" folder, but there are some that I would prefer not to even show up on my end, but rather delete them before they even get here (Facebook being the prime offender - hundreds of people I have never even heard of sending baby photos, etc.).

I contacted my ISP and was told that I needed to do this from the T-bird end. I cannot find anything in the Support section that addresses this problem. Thank you, Wolfgang

Unable to email GMail accounts. Error below:

Gmail requires all senders to authenticate with either SPF or DKIM

After some basic research, it was suggested that the Outgoing Server should be set to Oath2 but I am unable to change this.

I can get e-mail no issue but sending them i get this: Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.twc.com timed out. Try again.

I checked everything and all the setting are correct. I only changed the password on the Spectrum site and changed it in my account settings.

I can send thrugh my gmail e-mail account just fine.

I disabled the firewall and virus scanner on my PC as well. Checked with spectrum and everything is set right. Trouble shoot info below:

I am on a new install of windows 11 (from new windows 10). I can log into Gmail on the browser(Firefox) fine. I set allowing cookis and all the other stuff I could find but I can NOT get gmail to work.

This started when I received an email that spoofed my own email address and I marked it "Junk". The problem is that I send myself emails with reminders and other information that I want to access later. Now, whenever I send myself an email, it ends in Junk. I made sure my email address is in all of the address/contacts lists on Thunderbird. Every time emails from my own address end up in Junk, I use shift+J to mark them "not junk". I have done this at least a 100 times for numerous messages. I disabled junk processing, restarted, delete the junk folder, re-enable junk processing, start thunderbird again. How can I remove my own email address from the Junk filter?

We have 2 computers set up with Mozilla Thunderbird. On one of the 2, the outbound password was inadvertently changed. on the other of the 2, the outbound email works fine.

On the 1 the password was lost, I saw an option to view the password. I'd like to do that on the 1 that DOES work so I can re-enter the proper password.

For some idiotic reason Thunderbird is constantly creating a folder called SPAM. I want this off and never to reappear, so could someone explain how to do this. I have turned of unable adaptive junk mail and turn of the destination and retention.

This behavior is new, completely unnecessary.

I have tried for years to get my main email address to work in thunderbird. I have 3 email accounts, two work great but my main one creber887@sbcglobal.net just keeps giving me server errors. I have no problems in firefox on yahoo. It is frustrating. It happens in windows and linux. Please help. Clark Creber
