Hi all -

Just upgraded to TB 78 on Windows 10 x64, Build 2004. Noticed two major things:

Issue 1 -

All of the mail folder icons are no longer yellow. Just a stark white with a black edge. I attached an Image of the issue for review.

Issue 2 -

My Message Composition Pane is dark with white letters and most incoming text mail is the same.

I do have some dark colors set up under PC Settings -> Personalization but everything was working perfectly prior to this new release.

I attached Images of the issue for review. Note the "dark haze" over the HTML email.

No add-ons are enabled!

Any help appreciated! Kind of urgent to me.

I've used Thunderbird for years. After the most recent update in late July 2020 (78.0.1), Thunderbird no longer works. It will not download new mail. It does connect to the IMAP server but then gets to "checking mail server capabilities" and hangs with the spinning circle indefinitely.

I have not done anything to Thunderbird, I just let it install the update. I did not install updates to any other program on my PC. I'm running Windows 10 on a laptop that is about 4 months old. Thunderbird worked absolutely fine before the 78 update.

I am not experiencing any connection issues or problems with any other running programs.

I have tried the following fixes already: 1. Checking my account configuration and confirming it is correct with my email provider. I have the correct ports listed and correct server names. 2. Changing the timeout setting from 100 to 2000. 3. I am able to access my email on my provider's Web interface so this isn't a password issue. There is no CAPTCHA required either. 4. I checked my anti-virus/anti-malware program (Kapersky). Thunderbird and Mozilla are both listed in the "allowed apps" list. I tried removing them both and re-adding, as well as searching for other variations of Mozilla/Thunderbird to add. I also tried Kapersky's "refresh" function. 5. I tried restarting my computer. 6. I tried rebooting my wireless Internet connection. 7. I tried using Thunderbird's "start in safe mode with apps disabled" function. 8. I tried re-installing 78. 9. I tried clearing caches and cleaning with CC Cleaner.

Nothing has worked. Something in the 78.0.1 update has messed things up. Thank you for looking into this.

I've downloaded Thunderbird and have imported all emails etc - works great! BUT when I try to do a mail merge it doesn't work! I've saved my excel file as cvs and understand that I need to use {{Email}} , {{First Name}} etc It just doesn't work for me - no emails in outbox or sent items?

any ideas please?

My Thunderbird Software Frequently locks up for no reason. I have Windows 10. How do I fix this? I have to wait 5 to 10 minutes for it to unlock and work normally. Rebooting helps. But this is very frustrating. I'm runneing Thunderbird version 45.

It's ridiculous that Thunderbird requires an "add on" download to enable making the font size larger on EVERYTHING in the Thunderbird email program. What is Thunderbird thinking making everything so small you can barely see it?!

There has got to be a better way!!!

Please increase the size of the fonts on your program. (I know I can change the fonts and type style on outgoing emails. That's not the problem I want EVERYTHING LARGER! I want to see what I type in a message the same as my recipient will read it!

This feature has worked great for 2 years. I send "mass emails" (under 300 recipients) to our Baseball Membership, and it's always worked fine. This weekend, the BCC's were being emailed. Even when I tried to BCC 1 person, it wouldn't send to BCC, but would to TO: recipients. How do I fix this?

After the automatic update to 52.1.1 all my filters stopped running on new mail.

All my filters: - have check marks at "Manually Run" and "Getting New Mail: Filter before Junk Classification", - are of type "From contains ..." and - the actions are "Move Message to ... (certain IMAP folder)" and "Mark As Unread"

Manually running them works as expected.

When new (filterable) mail arrives, the filters log isn't recording anything but when I manually run them the expected action is logged.

I know we have discussed this over and over and i have researched a little but cant find the solution to why, my remote images aren't showing up in my emails. please help. maybe im losing my mind with the settings. i have started and restarted. Using the 64.0b3 (32-bit) version.

my settings are to allow all images, see the attached image.

BT then tried to help again through screen sharing, since when incoming email have stopped, message reading,

Sending of password for user Manod did not succeed. Mail server pop3.btinternet.com responded: Server error - Please try again later.

i was warned that changing from pop to imap could mean the loss of all my email, true?

please, I value my Thunderbird having spent years building up many folders and sub-folders for emails and would like to retain these even if i have to start with a new Thunderbird account. My Thunderbird is 38.5.0 I also use Firefox and Openoffice phone numbers are 0208 478 9681 and 07443 480 509 if that helps and of course i will call you back. thank steve

Have spent HRS searching your site and others for help!!! Trying to import contacts from WIndows Live Mail. All instructions I've tried to follow are WRONG INFO!!! It's disappointing that TB can't import contacts DIRECTLY from WLM's contact.edb file, but I've gone into WLM and exported the contacts into VCF form as recommended by TB. However, the directions then say to go to Thunderbird Address Book and go to Tools > MoreFunctionsForAddressBook > Actions for Contacts > Import vCard / VCF. NO SUCH OPTION EXISTS!!!! I've downloaded the latest version of TB, and under tools there is ONLY Address Book, IMPORT, EXPORT and OPTIONS. I've gone to import, and walked thru the steps, choosing to import VCF, then chose the folder location, but it opens the location folder showing ALL INDIVIDUAL CONTACTS, and there is NO WAY TO CHOOSE ALL, I can only click on ONE AT A TIME!!! ???? However, even when doing that, it places that contact in the address book list AS A NEW LIST/ADDRESS BOOK!!! There is NO WAY to force that vcf file to into the default existing "ADDRESS BOOK" there, I have gone in circles a hundred times, trying different things, but same result everytime. Then everytime I search for help on this issue, I come across different directions. SOME places say TB cannot directly import MESSAGES from WLM either, and those must be exported (DUMB in the case of a computer that is unable to boot and/or open WLM). Other places say TB CAN INDEED import messages directly from WLM's storage folders!!! Some places said press CTRL-A to select all vcf files in the export folder - NOPE!!! Still doesn't work. HOW DO I IMPORT CONTACTS???????

Win7 Thunderbird platform, prob error 80004005 Every time I look for Thundebird help I seem to have to log into Firefox which I don’t have it is so confusing, I have so many pw’s for mazzilla which are rejected I seem to have to make a new one each time I try to login, anyway my prob is for a long time I have been getting “server imap.gmail has disconnected” I have uninstalled all but my main email address and now I get error 80004005, so I check the SMTP settings box which has listed Google Mail-smtp.gmail.com port 465, and Mail-smtp.gmail.com (default) port 465, also my email address followed by smtp.gmail.com port 587 any help to sort this out will be most appreciated, Robert

I followed the instructions to go to the menu button, troubleshooting, open folder up 3 levels, copy the Thundberbird folder. Copied it to an external hard drive. Then following the instructions to Paste into the same folder. I got my Sent files, but not my Inbox (old emails). I found the Inbox file, 2.2 GB, under the profiles. I cannot get those old emails into my new inbox. What did I do wrong.
