Upon reopening Thunderbird mail today, I find that the latest update does not allow emails to be opened in a new window with one-click. Clicking on an email launches the message in a new tab instead of a window. Why create a new issue like this? DUMB . . . please fix.

I've had this email account on Thunderbird for years (along with others) via Gmail, and the others are still working but as of this morning this one won't, error message says: "400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know." The email is working fine still on my i-phone, just not on my Thunderbird mail client on my Mac desktop. I tried removing the email account from Thunderbird and re-adding it, but it won't re-add due to the same error message. What to do?

Dear reciever. After years of using TB and what we do think is a productive mail-tool that works for the benefits we are looking for has worked. However, the last 115- constantly freezing and shuts down. This is very annoying. It freezes at some folders from the main email-client- as we have deleted older folders integrated with this. But the problems remains. . We have done everything in our knowledge of the program but still no approvement. . At this point we are using Outlook..would be grateful to have some answers and possible sollutions for this issue. . Thanks in advance and keep up the great work U are doing. :-)

I have 6 email accounts and only 1 is a live.com email. That is the only account that keeps popping up a password error when I open Thunderbird. All settings are same same, full username with @live.com, SSL/TLS,norm pass and so on. Some days no issue grabbing emails ( no password prob ) then starts having issues, and I never changed anything. Any recommendations to resolve?

Start new Windows session. Start Thunderbird and works OK. Shut Thunderbird down and try to re-start during same Windows session and it will not launch. Reboot Windows and try to start Thunderbird and works OK. Alternatively, going into Task Manager there will be a number of Thunderbird processes running. If I manually end them all (while Thunderbird is NOT active) then I can restart as normal too. This all began with 124.0 Beta 1. Never had the issue prior.

Also, Thunderbird crashes if restarting within the app. By this I mean clicking the X it appears to close (excepting those persistent processes running) but "Restart Thunderbird" such as to launch Troubleshooting mode or from the "Restart to update Thunderbird" config crashes the app with 100% consistency.

Hello, After update Thunderbird quick filter became very very slow.

If you type in quick filter field two words. At the beginning is being shown random results not connected with typed in words. Then in 30 seconds or later are being loaded correct results. Not possible to use like this. It's local search on normal PC (with CPU AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G, 24GB RAM) filtering must to work fast. Could you fix that issue?

Hello there! Please can someone help me? On my pc, lately, when I move an email from my Thunderbird Inbox to a folder, the message does 'go' from my Inbox, but it does not re-appear in the folder. In fact, the message seems to disappear! However, the message tally count for that folder indicates that the message should be there, but it isn't visible. It's obviously been happening for a while but I don't know when it will have started. In the attached image, the folder 'Chatham, Cape Cod' shows that it should have 10 messages in it, but you'll see that the folder is empty, no messages are showing. In fact, all of the 3 folders 1) Boston, 2) Chatham, Cape Cod, and 3) Virgin Atlantic show that they have messages in them, but on opening each folder, each of those folders is empty. I should add that, on my phone or ipad, when I view my folders, all of the messages are visible. It is just on my PC that the messages are not visible. I've uninstalled Thunderbird and reinstalled it, but that didn't help. And I don't know what else to do! I'd be so grateful for help as I'm not techy and, as I work mainly from my PC, it's proving to be difficult not having all of my messages visible in their folders on my PC. Just a day or two ago a thunderbird screen pops up when I open my mail and wants me to log into my google account but does not allow me to. Its oversized and does not allow reforming it either. When you click on next it goes to another screen that says ----- GOOGLE 400 That's an error. Then a couple lines later it says --- The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That's all we know. --- ( the dashes I added to break up each line)

     So it takes using the ESC key to remove it off the screen, but eventually pops back up. I have to use end task to remove it all together but again when I open mail it returns.  I tried to upload a screen shot to you but it kept giving me an error message.
    I hope you can correct this problem. Yes I did reboot incase it was a computer problem. Thank you for your time and I hope you can fix this matter. I seen in the forum some were having similar issues but did not see my exact problem.

We have had a longstanding intermittent problem that is gradually getting worse. When sending emails the outgoing SMTP sending happens quickly, but there are massive delays in saving the sent message to IMAP folders.

Often it can take well over 1minute to save a message and quite often it does not save at all eventually we get a timeout with the error "Your message has been sent but a copy cannot be saved".

I appreciate there is the option to save to a local folder but it is a real pain to have to use this all the time.

This delays are happening across several different email accounts hosted with more than one ISP and whilst it is an intermittent problem it is occurring more than 50% of the time across multiple PCs.

Note: We use the option "Place replies in the folder of the message being replied to". However, the problem also arises with new outgoing messages that are not replies that would just be saved in the "Sent" folder.

We are using Thunderbird 115.1.1 (64-bit) running on Windows desktop PCs and laptops.

I have contacted the ISPs concerned but they think it is nothing to do with them and suggest it is an issue with Thunderbird.

I see this has been reported by other Thunderbird users, but the help resposes do not seem to offer a definitive solution. If it really is a problem with the ISP's IMAP hosting, please advise how I can gather evidence to convince the ISPs that they have a server problem. Our broadband speed is good and there are no significant delays with any other internet activity. Thanks.

After updating to the most recent version of Thunderbird, I cannot send email using my address of billward@kc.rr.com. I can send email using my address of billward122@gmail.com. When I click Send, I get this message: "Send message error. Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: billward@kc.rr.com sender rejected. The email address you are sending as must match the email address you used to auth. Please check your SMTP settings. AUP#Out-1500. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again."

All my account settings, including my email address, are the same as they have always been. The problem with not being able to send emails only started a few days ago. I suspect it is related to the latest automatic update to version 115.4.1(32 bit) or to updates just before this one.

How can I get Thunderbird to let me send emails again the address of billward@kc.rr.com? Thank you.

My grandmother on this account keeps receiving a enter primary password alert on her Thunderbird / Bigpond account. We've tried everything and when following the prompts to reset (tools > developer tools > etc) it won't come up with the evaluate button or reset button. We've tried the online sources but no success and she can't access her emails on her desktop. Please let me know what we can do !

"Enter Password" box no longer comes up when I start up Thunderbird. One account has password saved but the other doesn't so I cannot access emails on this account now as they won't download without either a saved password or (as I usually do) entering a password. This affects my husband also so not just something on my account. This happened around the 20th December. I've searched through Thunderbird settings but I can't find any way of adding a password directly into Password Manager - only edit or delete. So I can't fix the problem we now both have with accessing new emails. So - any suggestions please or is there a fix coming?, kind regards

Installed Thunderbird on a new desktop as I have over the years. Worked fine for a while but now I get a Google pop-up on one of my email accounts that requires me to sign in via Google with no way around. How do I get rid of the pop-up? Thank you!
