The inbox font in the Thunderbird email client on my Mac is super tiny, and it's very hard to read. I can't figure out how to make it larger. Is there a way to do this? I really like Thunderbird so far, but if I can't read it, I can't use it.

Taskbar icon does not indicate when new mail has arrived. Does not show a count of new/unread messages. 128.3.2 Windows 11

In settings "incoming mail" icon options I have chosen "show count of new emails" and "show a tray icon for unread messages is checked".

I am unable to tell at a glance if new email has arrived. I see from researching the KB I'm not the only to have this issue, but none of the settings seem to help.

When I select "Edit as New Message" in Thunderbird (v52.9.1) on a Mac, the message editor comes up in html mode even if I have set everything to plain text.

I have read all the articles on this and done all the things people have recommended including messing with Advanced options, account settings, etc. However, none of these solutions work.

Attached is a screenshot showing the problem. The first screenshot shows my inbox. The second shot shows that "Edit as new message" comes up in html mode.

Please advise.

I'm in the process of cleaning up Thunderbird e-mail before moving to a new computer. I started with 11,593 e-mails in my Inbox and 7,799 e-mails in my Sent folder. I'm now down to 7,634 in my Inbox and 4,965 in my Sent folder. I've allocated 2 weeks for this process and found that it's taking me about 3 hours per day to meet my daily goals. I'm finding that I'm spending at LEAST half the time responding to "Empty-Trash/Compact-folders" requests. There are times I can delete 50 e-mails at a time without getting a request. Other times I will try to delete ten e-mails and get the request. With the old version of Thunderbird I could literally delete hundreds of e-mails at a time. Can you help? Russ Bukwa Yardley, PA ps. I'm on tb 128 and use roadrunner. I see my emails on spectrum server but can't download them? I was using pop, they said imap is needed.

Hello, I have enabled the Thunderbird dark mode. My expectation was that all messages in the message list are displayed in white on a dark background.

Unfortunately, the message list often uses a black font on a dark background.

I changed the color in the message pane using settings --> Colour

I followed the instructions/workarounds here for using dark theme, including reset and troubleshoot mode. https://support.mozilla.org/sv/questions/1439922

But it did not help. Maybe you guys can help.

I run Thunderbird on a PC, and, to free up space on Drive C:, I have moved the contents of the folder Thunderbird in Appdata to Drive D:. I then changed my Server Settings, in Thunderbird, from C: to D:, and note that any new mail is indeed now appearing there along with those already transferred. This move could save me a valuable 6 gig of space, and more in the future, however, I am unable to remove that original Thunderbird folder entirely, notably I am unable to remove the contents of the Profiles folder, as it is still linked to the application. Notably with cookies.sqlite, cookies.sqlite-shm, store.json, mozlz4, aborted-session-ping and many others, which I note some have continued to be updated. I have been unable to find any other settings in Thunderbird referring to Drive C:, other than those in Server Settings.

I could presume that if I installed another version of Thunderbird on Drive D: and maybe moved those existing contents of the Thunderbird folder on C: onto Drive D:, and made those numerous settings changes to the App it could work. But I ask is there an easier way to complete this move? How can I complete this transition of Thunderbird from Drive C: to Drive D:?

Does anyone know how to highlight in the 65.0beta version of Thunderbird?

I can change the color of text and the whole pages background color but I can't highlight specific text only. I searched for an add on and had no luck. All the add on's I could find stated that they are not compatible with the 65.0beta version.

I frequently highlight text in email correspondence. I can do this in Microsoft word and every other email application I have used. I am resorting to saving my email in Thunderbird and opening it up in my old email application to highlight and then send the email. It's really annoying!

Before the last update, when you assigned a colored label to the message (e.g., work, important, etc.), the entire title, header of the message, took the chosen color. Now you only see a small tag.

I have just started using Thunderbird and I'm trying to change the default colour for a hyperlink.

I have tried about:config -> browser.anchor_color and browser.active_color but neither has worked.

I also tried using a user.js file but that didn't work either.

I would have thought this would be a fairly basic thing but it seems to be impossible.

Transfer Thunderbird email and data to another computer. I have attempted to transfer my email data from / to Windows 10 computers. The instructions seem straightforward but so far I have not been able to bring up the "new" computer after copying / transferring the data. I have a Linux laptop I could transfer to, but the versions don't match and I'm not sure it would work anyway. Any help or direction to instructions (I thought I have looked everywhere) would be great. Thanks

I wanted to try thunderbird 60 (60.0b6). Fresh install with a new profil.

And I can't find the "quick reply" option (the quick reply field that allow to quick reply to an email, like in the regular version of thunderbird 52.8).

How do I turn that on ?

In Thunderbird version 128, the table view displays the subject line with different font colors based on tags, as shown in the example below.

I’ve seen at Thunderbird's release notes that Thunderbird supports displaying different font colors based on tags in the card view, as shown in the example below.

However, in my card view, the subject is displayed in white font, and only the tag label is highlighted, as shown in the example below.

Hi, I'm using Thunderbird version 140.0 on Windows 10 and trying to change the background of the message pane. I've tried:

1. messagepanebox {

   background-color: #e6f3ff !important; 

}

but it only changes the upper part and I can't find a way to target the whole flex container or the lower part. There is a forum response (titled Message preview pane background) that targets the message pane:

1. messagePane {

background-image: url("file:///C:/path to image/image.jpg") !important;}

and that fills the message pane when its blank at startup but it disappears when selecting a message from the list.

I can add the background-color statement to :root in Developer Tools and that only works for the current selected message. How can I change the background of the entire Message Pane - the upper and lower part that contains the contents of the message - for each message that is selected? Thanks, David

I'm running Thunderbird 128.2.0esr (64-bit) on a Windows 11 PC. I can't find any way to associate a *.log file with notepad, even though this is the my windows default.

• Other file types work fine
• But Notepad isn't in the list when I double-click the file and I have to browse for it every time.
• When setting the default for another file type, it said this could be changed in "Options". I have Settings, but not Options. Under Menu > Settings > General, it has "Files & Attachments". Under this there are 2 columns: Content Type and Action. The only thing listed is Portable Document Content (PDF) and no way to add anything.* Bulleted list item

The Theme & Font size changer periodically stops working (all the messages become tiny) and goes missing.

I have tried reinstalling version 62.0 for TB, but nothing happens - in the past when I've done a reinstallation it has worked.

Can someone please let me know why this is happening?

P.S. I use the same Theme & font size changer with FF 57.0.4 and it works fine, never goes missing.

After following instructions twice I am stumped. Trying to install "Theme and Font size changer". Search, select install, restart TB. No change, no button, nothing in tools menu. All help is appreciated.

I recently upgraded to Thunderbird 128.2.3esr, and I no longer have the zebra stripes that alternate between my messages.

The userChrome.css file that appears in my profile's chrome folder is:

Few minutes ago I did the update to 128esr Nebula, at first glance, it look pretty great...

But after the installation I found out that Antidote 11 is not compatible with this new version... DO you have an idea if something is in work so it will be compatible pretty soon ?
