I would like to know whether the Thunderbird supports sending mass emails via Mai Merge with iCloud.com. When I use my email (xuweikang2015@icloud .com) and try to send messages via Mail Merge in Thunderbird, it has an error. It shows the message sending failed. Because it couldn't connect to the sending server (SMTP) smtp.mail.me.com, the email couldn't be sent. The server might be temporarily unavailable or refuse the SMTP connection. Please verify whether your sending server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

What setting do I need to change so that threading does not occur in any of my email folders? I hate this feature and wish to remove it permanently.

1st I am 90 yrs old. Been using this app since it was created. Never a problem until these new updates.

Was trying to delete old file (like the old program (block and hit delete). Found some message about deleting Trash folder and things I did not and do not understand. I now have LOST all my data, emails, addresses, everything.

I tried deleting the program and downloading a new copy. Did not work.

App Will not let me create an account. It keeps searching forever and have to cancel. App can't find my google password and just locks up. I only have two gmail addresses. I can access them by going to gmail.com but all my folders are not there. I need HELP please.

I can't even update my address file at the gmail site as I have no access to anything from TB. I am a research genealogist and now have lost all my saved research information.

I have 7 email accounts. Compacting only fails with one account. I can compress the sub folders of this email account. But compacting fails with top email account fails with the following message:

The folder email@gmx,de could not be compacted because writing to the folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again.

Hello everyone

I recently upgraded from TB 69 to the latest TB (after a crucial add-on finally got updated), and I'm generally happy with it, except for one little irk:

In Classic layout, the preview pane now contain multiple messages. As far as I can tell, it contains all messages of the selected thread, in date order (not in message list order). I would prefer the preview pane to contain just ONE message, namely the currently selected message. It is annoying to have to click repeatedly inside the preview pane to access the individual messages in the preview pane. It is also visually confusing (to me).

What's worse, the messages in the preview pane do not follow the normal threading: they appear to be shown in order of date, not in the order of the messages in the message list.

In the screenshot, you can see the thread has 11 messages, and in the message list there are three subthreads. The preview pane also shows the 11 messages, but not in the same order as in the message list. Plus, in order for me to read any messages, I need to click inside the preview pane to fold each message in or out.

I prefer a situation where I can click a single message in the message list, and a single message is shown in the preview pane. Is this possible with the latest TB?

Is there a way to sort Favorite folders? I've tried dragging them to a new order with horrible consequences. Instead of changing the order, the actual folder was moved to a sub-folder position within the actual folder I was trying to move to the position beneath it.

In other words, if I have Favorite folders: A, B, C, E, F, D and I want to move Folder D to the position after C and before E, dragging D to C will cause the physical location of the Folder D to be moved to a sub-folder position of Folder C in the email account.

If you then move it back to it's correct position AND folder D had sub-folders as well, you will then get the error message for any of Folder D's sub-folders: Unable to open the summary file for FOLDER D's SUBFOLDER NAME. Perhaps there was an error on disk, or the full path is too long.

BTW: is there a way to fix that error as well?

After updating to 137, trying to send emails times out for my GMX email, however for Gmail it still works fine (I attached the console output in safe mode). I am not using a firewall or a proxy and the problems persists in troubleshoot-mode. I am using Manjaro with Kernel version 5.10.234-2.

I think it started to happen with Version 128.9.0esr | Released April 1, 2025. It is very simple to reproduce: 1. Start TB. 2. TB downloads new messages and continues to do it every 1 minute according to the setting. 3. In 10 to 20 minutes, it hangs. I have to force it to close and then restart it to check my email.

I believe it started to happen yesterday.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I apologize in advance for the language, I'm writing from a translator. Thunderbird on several accounts, every few days requires a password ... "login to the server failed, enter a new password". Just in case, I changed the passwords on these accounts (with the option to remember), a few days of peace and again the problem. However, logging in with the old passwords before and the new ones now on the server is no problem at all.

I reinstalled TB but unfortunately it doesn't help. The same on the stationary and laptop, what could be the problem? Currently, email is available only on the server, I do not have access to Thunderbird.

Witajcie, Mam taki problem z odebranymi wiadomościami w Thunderbird 128.9.2esr (64 bits). Thunderbid z niewiadomych przyczyn losowo miesza treść odebranych wiadomości i przyporządkowuje je do innych wiadomości. W załączniku przesyłam print screen jak to wygląda. Jak widać odebrałem wiadomość z adresu: j.cichecka@.......pl o tytule Faktura VAT - sprzedaży nr. 7/03/2025/WYN. Po podświetleniu tej wiadomości w treści maila poniżej widzę niewłaściwą treść z innego maila od T-Mobile otrzymanego z adresu twoja_f@.......pl natomiast tytuł maila jest z wiadomości otrzymanej z adresu j.cichecka@.......pl (taki jak widać w liście Tematów wyżej). W ten sposób ginie mi mnóstwo wiadomości, których treści nie mogę odczytać bo znajduje się tam treść maili z innych wiadomości. Czy ktoś spotkał się z podobnym problemem i zna rozwiązanie jak to naprawić? Dziękuję Pozdrawiam Marcin

Hello, so, I have my thunderbird profile on an external hard drive. Thunderbird was open and the hard drive was disconnected. After reconnecting the harddrive, on just one of my accounts, the inbox folder showed empty and the draft sent and junk folders disappeared. New messages are dowloded without problem. I have tried the repair folder option, it stays at the build index step. I waited for three hours or a little more, should I wait more? my inbox size is 2.5 GB. I have tried deleting the msf file but I can get to recreate them after deleting them. I have tried copying the msf files in the Local folder, but nothing happens. The other accounts were not affected. I am using the 115.18.0 (64-bit) version on linux. Any help would be most welcome

Thunderbird inbox shows wrong sender name for message, overriding what the person actually sent with something from its data base. Attached screen shots illustrate:

-- Message is sent from [email]@earthlink.net. This was a joint account for a married couple. When they sent messages, each would have their Email client show the name of the sender. The husband died several years ago, and now the wife is the only one using the account.

-- Screen Shot #1: When I access the message via Thunderbird, for some reason it overrides the name provided by the sender with something from its data base (in this case, the name of the dead husband).

-- Screen Shot #2: When I access the message directly from Gmail, it shows the correct sender name.

This seems to me to be a bug. But if it's not, is there some parameter I can set so that Thunderbird doesn't "help" me with overrides like this?

I have a few favorite folders. One of them has sub-folders. Is there a way to favorite a folder and have the sub-folders be available at the same time? I don't want to favorite each sub-folder separately because the context would be lost. What I'm asking is there a way to show the "expand" option of favorite folder?

I need larger fonts when I compose my emails. They are teeny tiny and I have a very difficult time seeing them. I don't think that it's appropriate that I have to Zoom every time I compose an email. There should be a way to make my Body Text size permanent on my screen whenever I want to compose an email.

Hi, I have a weird problem on thunderbird. See pics: the incoming message number show me 10 messages but only 4 are visible. do you know how to repair this wrong number please? (last version updated) thanks regards

I was attempting to add a gmail address (one of mine) to Thunderbird. I got what you see in the attached. It's taking up one of my two entire monitors. (I'm writing via the 2nd monitor.) There's no title bar. The listed links don't work Ctrl F4 to close the window doesn't work. It's stuck there (Hung).

AND, "ALLOW" doesn't appear.

I'm going to have to reboot. But I really need to set this up.

I have set up my Gmail account to allow me to recall messages within 30 seconds. Of course, this works on the Web version of Gmail. However, when I use Thunderbird as a client, I do not see that capacity or option. Please advise.

I am using Thunderbird Nebula 128.9.2esr (64-bit) on Windows 10 22H2.

Since a recent TB update every email in my Inbox list is shown in a seperate box which is a waste of space and makes the list very difficult to scan/read and manage. I can't find anything that might change this to revert back to a simple list. If I change the view to 'compact' (it is currently set to 'classic view') then all lists, including the folders' list, become impossibly scrunched up together. Please help. I am so so so sick of managing the unnecessary fall-outs from TB upgrades. This is the final piece of a puzzle (ie a royally messed up program) that has taken me many hours to resolve. I would like to copy a large folder of messages, 211mb, from under Local Folders to a folder under another account. If I try to copy or move the folder from Local Folders only a portion of the messages are copied - 35mb worth. I have tried all sorts of ways to copy the messages including copying small numbers of messages to the new folder. I can copy 1 extra message but not larger quantities. I an running Thunderbird on Win11 and the accounts are all pop. I tried Importexport NG but that will only import a mbox under local folders. Not what I want.
