Most mobile sites are of a lower quality than their desktop counterparts. Less features and constant requests to download unnecessary apps are annoying and waste screen space. How do I force the Firefox app to only open desktop sites?

Because when I do the toggle bar it only works for one tab and when I open links to new tabs, it switches them back to the mobile version. Which for some sites that prevents me from being able to read or access things because the mobile version switches to a page that is just a prompt to download the app and clicking the desktop toggle doesn't bring me back to the page I wanted.

I saw there used to be an addon that would have been useful. It's dead now. Is there any useful replacement add on? Any convenient workarounds?

Is there any way to disable the urlbar autofill on mobile? It used to be possible to just turn off `browser.urlbar.autofill` in `about:config`, but that's no longer available. Even if I use Firefox Developer or Nightly so that I can actually get access to `about:config`, the option is no longer there. I absolutely despise the autofill, and, up until the new version of the mobile browser, Firefox was the only browser that actually let me turn it off. I was disappointed when the update broke that, but I waited, figuring that it was still new and there were some kinks to work out. And now it's been months and it's still missing. Is there still some other way to turn this off, or am I missing something?

Has anyone else faced the issue, that about:config resets all changes made on a daily basis? I use AdGuard for Android, which performs HTTPS filtering via a local VPN. Since Firefox handles certificates differently that all other browsers, I'm forced to use the beta branch, where I can access the about:config menu. There I can set security.enterprise_roots.enabled to true. Unfortunately I have to keep setting this feature on a daily basis, since it resets every night.

When I type a hostname without a TLD into the address bar, Firefox automatically appends .com to it. I have several local devices in my network that I want to access using their hostnames instead of remembering a bunch of IP adresses, so this is very annoying. On Firefox Desktop, I can disable this behavior by setting browser.fixup.alternate.enabled to false in about:config. How can I do this on Firefox for Android? There doesn't seem to be an about:config page.

I know this is not the right place for suggestions, but I also think this setting is important enough to deserve an entry in the regular settings menu.

How to disable gestures in Firefox on Android?

Dear Mozilla Support,

I'm using an android tablet in online teaching, presenting PDF documents via BigBlueButton (in case that the application matters). I had issues with the Chrome browser, because very often when writing manual notes on the PDF, BBB lost connection with the pen (although the browser still reacted to the pen).

I found that Firefox worked much better, i.e., the pen-related incompatibility between BBB and Chrome has never occurred with Firefox. Thank you for that!

However, after upgrading the tablet a few days ago, a very annoying problem occurs in Firefox: It now tries to understand "gestures". The consequence: When I present a PDF file, that I turn to landscape full screen on the tablet, and try to write on the left half of the PDF file, Firefox apparently interprets my handwriting as gestures and thus keeps switching tabs. It already gave me several angry fits during my lectures.

The local support at my university told me that gestures could in the past be disabled via "about:config", but alas, the new firefox version does not allow to open "about:config".

I believe it is two bad choices of the Firefox developers to use gestures by default and to prevent the user from changing the default. But criticism aside: How can I solve the problem, or at least work around the problem? The local support told me that using the nightly build might be a solution. Would it? If yes, how to obtain it?

Best regards, Simon

Hi, I have been using Firefox for months now..I did not get any reply from devolopers why is that? Are they too busy to reply their own users? Anyway Some features are missing..I request dev teams to look into it and try to add them..

       Those are....

#1 forward/Backward button on direct Index screen missing..So everytime when I try to shuffle pages from back to front I had to go to Inside settings. It's so irritating. #2 There is no actual adblocker/pop-up blocker which actually work. Everytime I go to a ads enabled page I had to face pop-up ads. I can't do anything about it. #3 no VpN #4 No resume/pause button on Downloads.'

Hello!

I'm currently using Firefox nightly for Android, simply for the reason of installing custom add-ons, rather than having to choose from the given list.

I've followed this guide so far: [https://www.ghacks.net/2020/10/01/you-can-now-install-any-add-on-in-fi...]

And I've added the 3 extensions I need at, by signing in with this very Firefox account: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../collections/]

My problem is when I attempt to add a custom Add-on collection, it asks me: Collection owner (User ID) What is my User ID? How do I add my custom collection so I can use my own add-ons? Apologies in advance if this is a silly question and I'm missing something obvious.
