I have to use a payroll app for android that logs in on the default browser, mine being Firefox. After logging in on Firefox, I am redirected to the app. The issue is the tab on Firefox doesn't close, so every time I open Firefox it takes me to the payroll app before I can close the tab or even do anything. Restarting my phone seems to fix the issue, but that's unrealistic to have to do that every time I open an app that logs in through the default browser.

When I am finished with a tab and close it, and then close down Firefox app, when I click back into Firefox the tabs that I have closed are still there open. How can I stop this from happening without having to "quit" and clear cache etc all the time? Surely when you close a tab it should stay closed?

Hello, I have a problem with Firefox on my newest android phone (Poco X5 pro, MIUI 14 on Android 13), but I can't describe it very well. When I want go to a new site, for example as result of opening a link in an app, the browser got stuck with the OLD latest open tab instead of opening the new site, and I need somehow to manually kill the tab and start from scratch from a new tab that I open.... Does something like this tell you something well known ?

Hi folks, I'm having a weird issue with syncing/sending tabs.

Desktop > Laptop and Laptop > Desktop are 100% fine for sending tabs between the pair.

Android Phone > Desktop is perfectly fine.

Desktop > Android Phone just doesn't send the tabs to the device.

I've signed out both at FF 4 android and the devices list then signed back in, re-synced the desktop and mobile and checked they could see each other again and there is no change. It used to work fine. It's handy when say going to the hardware store to drop the tab from the laptop or desktop to the phone to know where I'm looking when I get there but lately I've had to put a link into OneNote instead which is less than desirable.

So I'm hoping someone might have a cause and fix.

How do I dublicate a tab in the android app as I would in the flatpak/desktop application?

(I do know that I can create a new tab, copy the adress from the old tab, paste it into the adressbar of the new tab and hit enter, but this doesn't keep the "forward/backwards history" as on desktop, and it is really slow.)

Steps to reproduce 1. Open a page in custom tab powered by firefox on android 2. Click on a link in the page that should've opened in new tab 3. Firefox will open two tabs, in total 3 tabs will be there, parent tab, child tab, clone of child tab. Child tab will have window.opener reference. Clone tab wont. User will be seeing the clone tab but not child tab

The opened tabs will be visible on developer tools

The child tab becomes an orphan, not visible in the custom tab or browser, disappears only when firefox app is force closed

Hello everyone,

Current version of Firefox is 115.2.0 on Android 8.

Previously, it was possible to configure Firefox to stay in the background while opening tabs from links activated in other apps. Thus, said apps would stay in the foreground until Firefox is called to the front.

If such a configuration is yet possible, how is it achieved?

Is there any way from stopping firefox mobile from refreshing itself whenever I go to different app to respond someone's message or copy some info?

I had turned off/on any settings regarding battery usage for this app and it didn't help. I use redmi note 12 and I had same problem on my previous phone redmi 8. I also use Firefox app on iPad air 4 and don't have such problems.

It's literally the only thing that bugs me regarding Firefox, I have no other complaints just this foreced refresh.

Hi,

As I enter a search term in the toolbar box of a tab, a new tab opens, with the Google results (Google is the default browser). If I go back to the tab where I entered the search term, a new new tab opens yet again and so on.

So, basically, when I search a term in the toolbar box, I end up with two tabs.

I'm running Firefox 114.2.0 (Build #2015957435) under Android 13.

I own a second phone. Firefox has the exact same configuration in both phones and I am not having this issue in the second phone. Second phone runs Firefox 114.2.0 (Build #2015957433) under Android 6.

Thank you so much for the hard work and for your help!

Best regards, Jorge

On an Android phone you can go to open tabs and close all open apps tabs, etc. On my Android phone I am able to open the folder, empty all open apps and tabs, except for Firefox. Which was my default browser for the past 20yrs. When I open the folder and close everything, Firefox tabs remain with a large lock in the lower right hand corner. Anyone know what's going on?

I was browsing through Firefox and as usual I had more than 30 tabs open. I have set them to never close and move old tabs to inactive ones. I was watching a video in a tab and closed Firefox then open another app in cellphone and then after some hours I reopen Firefox and there was only 1 tab (wordreference.com) What happened to the other 30 tabs? They're nowhere. I looked for support and there are many threads and videos for the desktop version but almos inexistent for Firefox Android version. There must be an explanation for this issue and perhaps a solution or workaround. Thank you.

When I am browsing and need to temporally switch to another app e.g. authenticator or bank app, when I return to the browser transactions are often resetting or failing in a weird way.

Examples of that can be: - the website requires to login again, even though the login has just been successful - the banking information needs to be entered again - all filled forms are discarded

This is reproducible very often and it looks like the tab or the browser itself is restarting.

I am struggling to try to like Firefox Mobile. I have Firefox Mobile version 114.2.0 on my Samsung S23 Ultra phone with Android 13, and 114.1.1 on my S7+ tablet. I do not like having to click the little button next to the address bar to open a screen showing blocks or tiles for the tabs have open. I have used Firefox on my PC since it was a new browser in beta. But I have never used it as my primary phone and tablet simply because of the way it forces use of those blocks or tiles on a separate screen instead of showing always visible tabs across the top of the browser. I can not find anything in Settings to force it to display tabs instead of those blocks/tiles. What do I need to do to force it to show tabs and have them always visible?

I currently am using Dolphin as my primary mobile browser, but I can not sync my PC Firefox bookmarks with Dolphin. I just got the new phone and want to make the switch so that I can sync bookmarks, but I will not switch until I can see the tabs across the top.

Thank you! DaveM
