The Help page says to click on Bookmarks and then click on the folder icon with the + icon on it, in the upper right corner, to add a new folder.

No icon exists.

The only way I can add a folder is if I bookmark a page I go to.

I want to create a bunch of folders without having to go to a bunch of sites and bookmark each site.

When I do a search in the address field in Firefox for Android, I get a list of hits from my history, bookmarks and others (depending on my settings).

In the desktop version of Firefox (and also on the old Firefox for Android (=before the recent major change of Firefox for Android)) it was possible to see, if the result is found in my history or my bookmarks (by a star / asterisk or perhaps a small colored square in the old Firefox for Android - I'm not sure about what the indicator precisely was there).

In the current Firefox for Android (79.0.4) I can't see any difference whether a result in my search is from my bookmarks or my history, and really want to be able to distinguish between those, because the bookmarks show me, that this is a page I actively have decided to "save" for later reuse (and in this way I have kind of 'verified' that this is an important page for me, and that it is safe).

I am aware of, that I in my settings can choose only to get bookmarks returned in my search results - but I don't want to *exclude* my history in the search results - I just want to be able to see which of those are my bookmarks and which are found in other places. So therefore this isn't a good solution for me.

Am I missing something ? Is it - even if I really tried to see if I could see any kind of indicator (without success) - possible to get these bookmark-indicators back again (via settings, about:config ...other) ? The latter ('about:config') by the way results in 'Cannot Complete Request - Additional information about this problem or error is currently unavailable - "Try Again"-button'... But that is a different issue, I guess.

Best regards Frank

Hello,

on a Pixel 4, up-to-date with Android 10, and Firefox for Android, version 68.11.0, I want to import my bookmarks from a html file, saved on this Pixel. That means I cannot use Sync - but this seems to be the only way managing bookmarks. Isn´t there really any possibility for an import?

Many thanks Knut

Since the new update, I have been unable to see whatever I bookmark. New bookmarks are not added to the list of "desktop bookmarks," and selecting "recently bookmarked" takes you to a screen which remains blank.

I have already posted other problems regarding bookmarks and don't want to repeat myself, but I would like to express my disappointment. The new homepage is pushing the "collections" function, which sounds like it aims to do exactly what we where already doing with our bookmarks and bookmark folders - which have now become incredibly hard to use.

I have just been updated to the completely new Firefox Android. How can I make bookmarklets work in the whole new Firefox Android?

I use(d?) Zotero's bookmarklet daily on Firefox Mobile on Android: https://www.zotero.org/downloadbookmarklet

Since the new update, bookmarks do not show up over the current page when tapping the address bar: they only appear as a separate new tab, preventing JavaScript bookmarklets to work.

Does anyone has a workaround? Am I missing something? This massive, unasked for, feature-breaking update of Firefox on Android is really disruptive.

Thanks for any help!

Hi, I'm on an Android os and my Mozilla app recently suffered an update. In the prior version, when the URL field was tapped, a small list of frequently visited sites (or bookmarked ones), represented with little square icons, would pop up in the now-blank area between the menu bar and the keyboard as can be seen in the attached image.

I already tried adding the desired websites as actual bookmarks and I even tried putting them in all three default folders in case only one folder was tied to the "home screen" interface, to no avail.

Looked all through the settings, which have been severely simplified themselves, and found nothing but menu bar location and "light or dark" UI theme.

Looking forward to hearing back soon, and I hope this can get fixed asap if it's not my own mistake.

I have been complacent with the bookmark system for mobile devices until recently. The new Firefox makes new bookmarks at the bottom of the bookmark folders. I have hundreds of bookmarks and would have to scroll all the way down to see the new bookmark that I just added to make sure it was there. Is there a way for me to sort it so the bookmarks can be organized by name, date, or nickname? Or do i have to creat a new folder and move everything so that the new one is at the top, all the time? If you suggest me organizing my bookmarks into other folders, this is the sub category of translated novels. Also is there a way to get the bookmarks to show up first when I type a key word into the search bar and not just everything in bookmarks, history, and any other suggested things mixed together? It used to be the bookmarks showed first and indicated they were bookmarks. Further more, it doesn't allowed me to delete or alter them from the search screen. Is there a possibility I'm just not seeing the options in the setting or did Firefox break/new feature this? Or is there an add-on I have to download to help my situation? Just realized that there is not search option in the bookmarks option itself. Also, is there a way so the folders show up at the top or bottom organized separately from bookmarks instead of trying to hunt down the folders and/or bookmark? Also bookmark folders don't show up in the search after typing their name in the address bar. Is there other ways to search for said folders?

Hello! I found some issues at bookmark settings at android program and I want you to tell me If I there is an option to fix them, otherwise to suggest you to fix it at the updates to cum.

When I save a new bookmark from android program it goes all the way up in the folder. At pc browser when I save a new bookmark goes all the way down. Is there an option to make at android program in order when I save a new Bookmark to goes all the way down? Otherwise it is better in the update to cum when I save a new Bookmark to goes all the way down the same like pc otherwise it is so confusing.

An other issue that I found is that from my android program I can't manage my Bookmarks. For example I can't move a saved bookmark or folder up or down to the list. Is there a solution to this problem? Otherwise I suggest you in a future update when I long press a bookmark or folder, to be able to take it up or down to your list and when I want to select more than one bookmarks to put some-ware a button (next to add a new folder button there is space to put it) in order to make a multiple selection.

An other problem is that no-were found the option to ranking saved bookmarks and folders alphabetically into a folder. If there is no solution I suggest you to put this option to the three dots in a future update.

Thank you!

I have 200+ bookmarks accumulated over 2½ years on Firefox browser. New bookmarks are used more frequently than old ones. But the new bookmarks are listed below the old bookmarks. So I have to scroll all the way down to access them. That is frustrating and annoying. Very annoying. Will Firefox Team allow listing of new bookmarks on the top of the old ones as it used to be in the old version?
