Firefox for Android Support Forum

I recently made the (apparently) foolish decision to allow Firefox to upgrade using the Play store App. This is on a Galaxy S8 running Android 9. Firefox 109.2.0 was installed and upon opening the App, all of my user data was gone. No tabs, bookmarks, saved passwords or other settings were available.

This is unacceptable. There appears to be no way to recover the lost information, but I am opening this case to determine if there is a recovery strategy. Of course, I don't really want to run version 109.2.0 and will revert back to something that works without losing data as soon as the missing data is recovered.

I'm not sure why the Firefox Devs seem to think that user data is a disposable and unimportant item, but I would encourage a full review of their processes to determine why they have failed so badly.

In the meantime, if anyone has a method that might be used to recover the old profile data, that would be very helpful.

Some notes: 1) No, I don't use Sync (or whatever they are calling it today) because it is a security risk in my view to have any third party including Mozilla know my bookmarks. 2) about:profiles does not work. 3) I'm not sure what version was installed earlier, but AdBlock Plus was working fine, so it may have been a year or more since my last update.

Hello, I tried to save a page as pdf = "pdf not generated". Then I tried again, seemed to work but couldn't open it. Any idea ? NB it is paying newspaper, I am a subscriber.

I am attempting to set Firefox as my search engine on my Android phones. I have to add Firefox under "Other" as a search engine but it is asking for the "Search String" for Firefox. I am looking for the search string address for Firefox and gives an example using Google. How do I find the Search String for Firefox?

For over a decade, mobile users have had no addons for browsers (including Firefox,) how much longer will this last? There are like 10 sponsored addons (out of 10 million for desktop) that install, the rest only let you download the .xpi file (with nowhere to put the file.) Where is the mobile Firefox extensions folder to put the .xpi files for mobile Firefox? I have been waiting for over a decade for such basic support, I am about to abandon Android forever.

If you have sync your information on the computer up to your firefox account, then i recommend you signal out of it. then on the laptop, signal into your firefox. account and let information down load to it. every other choice is to virtually export your bookmarks, pw to a file. then reproduction over to the laptop computer for importing.

I downloaded a video and don't know where it went it gave me the option of gallery and Firefox so I hit gallery but it said gallery didn't supported it or something like that and I don't know where it went or how to find it
