I am using Firefox nightly on Android. About two weeks ago I noticed that my toolbar got moved to the bottom after some update, while address bar is still at the top. I tried looking for it in settings but couldn't find anything about toolbar, that's weird since I was able to customize it a few years ago when I installed Firefox for the first time. So I looked it up on the internet and they say that it's in Settings/Customize/Toolbar, but in my browser settings instead of Toolbar there is Address bar settings. Has toolbar's settings been moved somewhere else? It looks like in previous versions it was under Customize section.

Hi everyone. I hope you're doing well.

So, I've been thinking about downloading the Firefox browser for Android but I am worried.

I saw this among the app permissions on Google Play Store: "download files without notification". And I am worried.

And I need to know:

- What files does Firefox download without notification?

- Why does Firefox download files without notification?

- When does Firefox download files without notification?

- Why and how should I trust an app to the have the ability to download anything it desires at anytime it desires without my knowledge or my choice to accept or decline?

Could you please help me and tell how this app is safe?

Thanks. Have a good day!

I recently downloaded Firefox on my Android device. It's been fine. However today, there was an issue. I have the settings set on my phone so bookmarks appear on the homepage. However, today, for some reason, the bookmark on the homepage was glitched. I'm not sure why, but I figured I just had to reset it. So I go rid of the bookmark on the homepage, and redid the bookmark. It was working again, but now, the bookmark isn't appearing on the homepage anymore. It's just a blank homepage, even though my settings are still the same. I've turned the settings on and off, reset fire fox, cleared cache, and the bookmark still isn't showing up. Pleas help me.

Video playback initially works, until suddenly it doesn't; no new videos will work, and videos that previously played in the same browsing session will stop working. Easy to reproduce on Reddit by browsing any video-heavy subreddit. Leaving a broken video in a tab seems to infect the rest of the browser across websites; if a broken video from site A is open in another tab, videos on site B won't play.

Sometimes quitting and restarting Firefox is enough to temporarily get video playback working again; sometimes I have to manually clear the browser cache; at least once I've had to reboot my phone.

Background:

I regularly work with old modem/router at my work sites. I usually use Firefox on PC to access the management page. Sometimes, I like to check by the sites with only my phones, to mess with the configs in the modem.

I cannot access the local IP address (https://192.168.10.1/) because of the TLS requirement is too high (SSL/TLS 1.3). I need to lower the TLS version inabout:config to 1.1. I couldn't access the about:config on Firefox Android.

I have tapped 5 times on the Firefox logo to enable to Debug page, but changing TLS requirement is NOT there.

Question: Where is the setting for security.tls.version.min in Firefox Android 120.0?

The Firefox for Android add-ons section (yes, I made sure I was in the 'for Android' add-ons web address, as opposed to the 'desktop add-ons' web address) is saying "You'll need Firefox to use this extension" and not allowing me to install add-ons as the page employs a download firefox link that leads to an "Open" button in the Google Play Store, as I already have Firefox installed. I have tried many different add-ons to test if the issue is isolated to a single add-on and to test if it is an add-on compatibility issue, and it seems to be a consistant issue with all add-ons. Yes my underlying operating system (Android), and the Firefox for Android app are both up-to-date with the latest versions. I have located the Firefox support page labeled "Unable to install add-ons (extensions or themes)" and was able to work through the the list of potential issues and their solutions, to determine that every item on the list was either inapplicable or not the problem/solution. What am I missing?
