Since a few weeks, the app has been draining my battery like crazy. We're talking about higher energy consume than games, and with less screen-on time. I'm using a Pixel 7 pro, Firefox since I got it, and never had this issues until now. I was forced to uninstall it as ir was unbearable to use my phone and having it die several hours before it used to. After that I installed Chrome, which is not famous for being battery friendly, and the problems are completely gone.

I keep my apps ALWAYS up to date with updates, así well as my phone, so I'm sure the issue has something to do with Firefox app.

Thanks in advance for your time.

I keep encountering an error when using the "Install/Add to Homescreen" interaction. I will get an error that says " this shortcut already exists" even when it doesn't. It's happened a few times, and I can only assume that some sort of glitch is occurring as I move the shortcut around on my home screen. This error only occurs if I accidentally lift my finger off the screen while dragging the icon to a spot. It's like the shortcut is being placed somewhere invisible in that moment and I cannot see it. I only have one page on my home screen, and I have tried adding a second screen and moving my apps there. I've tried deleting all my widgets and Homescreen folders as well. It's still recognizing a shortcut that doesn't exist.

Phone details if that helps

I keep getting notifications that I need to purchase antivirus McAvee and that I have several virus that need to be taken care of. My McAvee account I did not renew this year nor do I desire to at anytime in the near future. I want to know why Firefox keeps sending me messages to purchase it. I would appreciate an answer so I know that my options are. Thanks you.

My name is Mr. Yeo, a developer at LG Electronics’ H&A headquarters.

         ============================================================================

In the past(2022), I had ever get in touch with <kapil@mozilla.com> by email about Fenix, which is available as Open Source on Github, to include it in our product.

But now, <kapil@mozilla.com> email address is not valid any more. So I had no choice but to leave an inquiry here.

==> Question 1

 : Can you provide contact information for a new support person to replace <kapil@mozilla.com> for cooperation between LG Electronics and Mozilla?
         ============================================================================
         ============================================================================

Our team is considering a product for Android GO devices. So we're trying to mount the Firefox app here.

Because Android GO devices are low-end products (= RAM size : 2GB) An app such as Firefox Lite is more suitable than Firefox.

However, I found out that Firefox Lite support has ended. I also found articles mentioning Firefox Focus as a replacement.

==> Question 2

 :  From Mozilla's perspective,
    we would like to ask what method you could suggest for companies developing low-end products
    based on the Android GO platform to install Firefox apps.
         ============================================================================

Thanks.

I have used Firefox on many systems - MacOS, Linux, Winblows and mainly Android Cellphone.

"about:config" on a Cellphone has never worked, never worked consistently, or mainly been confused with Desktop Firefox :P

Hello?!? The future is mobile not stationary desktops  :P But I digress. Please dont misunderstand me - I love FF - but when I want "about:config" on A Cellphone - I WANT IT to actually work on a freaking cellphone  :P

Is the software config too much for International Mozilla to understand? Or has Mozilla had way to much input from everyone on the planet thus watering down an otherwise great browser?

Kind of rhetorical - I know it will never be fixed in favor of locking in a dieing desktop setup  :P

Once I have my camera and microphone on, I can't turn them off no matter what I do. I am on a Samsung A335G, with the latest (beginning od November 2023) Android update.

I see no way to turn them off. It is specifically Firefox app (again, latest update) using the mic and camera - my notifications say so. Closing the app does not work. Restarting my phone or turning it off and on again does not work. Only a complete powerdown works.

I read here that someone else named Summer has this problem. Your response person says it is a matter of Android permissions. IT IS NOT. IF I TURN OFF FIREFOX PERMISSION TO USE MIC AND CAMERA, THEY STAY ON ANYWAY.

It is very annoying to have to completely powerdown my phone after an online classroom session using Firefox where the mic and camera are required.

Please tell me how to tell Firefox Android app to turn off the mic and camera when i am done with them.

As of yesterday (1st Nov 2023), Firefox started reporting "Proxy Server Refused Connection" when trying to browse websites over Wifi.

I have a proxy server configured in my phone wifi settings, and this has worked before, and still works in other apps (Chrome, etc)

Checking with tcpdump on the proxy server itself, I see my phone trying to connect to port 80, rather than the configured port (8000)

When I google and address and the search results appear I want to click on the map and Mozilla to direct me to the Google Maps app. Instead, Mozilla opens the Playstore google for me to download the app which is stupid. The "stay in browser ask me to open the app is selected". Sometimes if I click on the map or directions nothing happens. It s not opening in browser and it s not opening in app either. I am using Poco X3 Pro, Android 13.

I am using Firefox mobile on my realme x2 pro running android 12 with a 20:9 aspect ratio screen (I thought aspect ratio was worth noting). I have encountered a bug where Firefox does not register any clicks on any icon, image, or element near the edge of the screen (left or right) on any website (google, reddit, etc.). This bug only affects Firefox and not Chrome. Sometimes, Firefox registers a click on the icon if I shift my finger slightly away from the icon and close to the middle of webpage (meaning in opposite direction of the edge), but this is not consistent and requires me to remember to do this every time. This bug makes it very difficult to interact with websites. I have tried some solutions that I found online, such as clearing cache and cookies, updating Firefox to the latest version, disabling extensions and plugins, etc., but none of them worked for me.

I'm on Android 14 on a Pixel 7 and was browsing the web using Firefox when I received a popup that doesn't look legit. But I wanted to verify that before I assume. Could this have come from Firefox? If not, is it a sign of malware?

When Android system updates are available they usually show up in my notifications feed and this didn't. And the appearance of it is different. I have notifications set to "off" for Firefox. I went to the Play store and saw an update was available and installed it (confused as to why it didn't self install though - according to this page it should update automatically: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-release).
