Recent update causes all pdf links to be opened in Firefox on Android with no option to download, and no setting to choose a default behavior. They're was another person who asked a similar question and was told to use the "Share" option and then "Save as PDF" - this doesn't work. Another advise given was long-pressing on the PDF link and choosing to save target - it won't work when I am pasting the pdf link into the address bar, which is how I do it primarily. I'm stuck using the Open in External App, which opens the pdf in Google drive, then having the option of saving the file. So many unnecessary steps. Please fix.

Hello,

I've noticed for a couple of weeks now that audio streaming halted when the lock screen kicks in, regardless of whether I've blanked the screen myself (hardware button) or not on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A8. I was running Firefox for Android v98.2.0 (2022 Mar 13 on Android v9 and with the following add-ons:

- uBlock Origin - Privacy Badger - HTTPS Everywhere - Video Background Play Fix

This is behavior I haven't seen before, and I've been streaming on this device with Firefox and other apps for a couple of years now. To determine whether it's Firefox or Android itself at fault, I streamed under a different app (RadioGarden). I do not get the cut-outs with the latter; it carries on happily until I terminate the app.

I have upgraded to v98.3.0 and will test again with that. Searching on the Support forum, the last reports I could find of anything like this dated from Aug 2020 or so and quite a few versions back. Is this something that's cropped up again? Is anyone else seeing anything like this?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Firefox for Android 7.0, Firefox 94.1.2 and Logins and Password

"Autofill in other Apps" selection never appears in the menu for the above set up but does appear in an Android 8.1 version with the same Firefox version of 94.1.2.

The 7.0 Android version never offers a valid saved login for external apps.

The 8.1 Android version will pop up a text box below the User ID entry that says "Unlock Firefox" but selecting the text box does nothing. The same text box also appears below the password box after manually entering the User ID and selecting CONTINUE to get to the Password entry box (but only in 8.1) If you Long Press the User ID or Password box in 8.1 it offers a Paste selection but it's not a UID or Password, just the last Cut item.

In Android 10.0 Long Press on the UID or Password box will bring up an "Autofill" box but it does nothing and does not offer a UID or Password anywhere for external apps.

Something is clearly broken in External App password from Firefox for Android. All the available settings are as they should be set. The Password fill works as it should from the Web Page of the same App entity, say Amazon for example.

So.....whose problem is this?

Until recently (sorry, I don't know which version I upgraded from), entering fullscreen mode when playing back video (such as YouTube) would automatically force landscape mode, even with auto-rotation disabled. Now, there seems to be no way for me to enter landscape mode while playing back a video, without enabling auto-rotation (which I otherwise always keep disabled).

I realize that the desired behavior here can be subjective, but at least it would be nice if there is/would be a way of configuring this behavior?

I'm on Android 13 (Oxygen OS 13 on OnePlus Nord 2T), with Firefox version 112.2.0 (release April 24 on the play store).

I'm using Firefox 93 on Macbook air and Firefox 93.2 on Android 11 (Samsung S10). I’ve synced all passwords and logins and can view them on both devices. ‘Autofill in Firefox’ and ‘Autofill in other apps’ are both on. But, when logging in to apps on the Samsung, autofill doesn’t work. Even if I fill in my email address, there is no password suggestion. Instead, a small dropdown message appears: ‘unlock Firefox’. It isn’t active, and doesn’t open anything when I tap on it. Result: I have to go looking for the passwords and fill them in manually. I hope there’s a solution. Thanks for your help

Auto fill for login details not working properly

Hi. So for quite a few months I've been experiencing two issues relating to the Firefox auto fill for login details.

Issue 1. When you visit a website sign in page the "Suggested logins" box pops up at the bottom (all normal). But then when you login the box won't go away. I can navigate to somewhere new in same tab or switch to another tab already open and the box won't disappear. To get rid of it I need to open a new tab and go to a new webpage, then I can go back to my already open tab.

Issue 2. The "Suggested logins" auto fill for sign in fields on a webpage won't work. This issue started around the same time as the first and is not on every website but a few including Google Account sign in which I use a lot. I will navigate to a sign in page, the Suggested logins box pops up, I select the login I want, but then it won't fill it in.

I've tried reinstalling the Firefox app, but it didn't work. I've kept using the app despite dealing with this everyday. They may be small bugs but they do get tedious after months of it daily. I was hoping an app update would fix the problem but no update has. So I thought I would share, see if its just me.

Downloading large file over WiFi (via 'Dowload link') shows no progress (% completed) and often fails in Firefox for Android leaving no traces in the Firefox Downloads list

Hi! Have been using Firefox for Android for years. Cannot solve the following issue: trying to download a large file over (slow?) WiFi displays no signs of a download in progress (except for WiFi activity indicator in the top panel) and nothing happens (no files in the download folder, no records in the Firefox downloads list). If I retry it sometimes works. If I start another browser (Samsung Internet) the download works fine. The device is Samsung Note 8 with the latest updates installed (Android 9). The problem does not reproduce over mobile data connection (4G internet mostly, faster than the WiFi connection I use). Firefox is 92.1.1 but I have seen the issue with all previous versions in the last couple of years.

Sample scenario to reproduce: 1. open https://echo.msk.ru/programs/observation/2909078-echo/ 2. tap and hold the download tab above the video 3. a popup windows appears with the https://cdn.echo.msk.ru/snd/2021-09-25-observation-1210-3532210.mp3 title, select "Download link" (is there any other way in Firefox to download the link?) 4. the popup window disappears and nothing seems to be going on... If I go to "3 dots" menu > Downloads the file is not listed there. 5. Sometimes the download does succeed. In this case I see a notification from the Download manager in the top panel which reads 2021-09-25-observation-1210-3532210(3).mp3 was downloaded where the '(3)' suggests the previous 2 attempts to download the file did try to create the file on the device! The file is about 63 MB.

Thanks, Dmitry

There is a forum where poster tried to embed YouTube video, but YouTube refused to deliver the data. All browsers display there instead their customized messages about website error. So does Firefox for Android 113.2.0, but in this message it refers to itself as Nightly. Seems like developers forgot to tweak some settings in project.

Nightly Can’t Open This Page

To protect your security, m.youtube.com will not allow Nightly to display the page if another site has embedded it. To see this page, you need to open it in a new window.
