I have mainly switched and using firefox due to its ease of use "multiple search engine". It's been a couple of years, however I'm still unable to figure out how

Text to url Text to text works?

I mean let's say i'm gonna search "firefox now requires double click to switch search engines"

Text to url becomes like this- https://html.duckduckgo.com/html?q=firefox%20now%20requires%20double%20click%20to%20switch%20search%20engines

And text to text becomes like this- firefox now requires double click to switch search engines

Main point: In case of "text to url", search engine has processed and showed result. I click "search bar" and can copy url.

However I'm not sure how text to text works.....many times I immediately click search bar after clciking Enter or Go and the search text stays as it is.

this is always a pain in the neck. Bought new phone, Android 11, I need to read a file, named file.htm, in memory with firefox (or other browsers). This should be my home. I authorize FF to read memory (unfortunately there is only the checkbox for multimedia files, I do not know if this is an issue), and in the address I type

file:///storage/emulated/0/file.htm

No way, no message, just white page. Also with previous phones the first time I did this was a problem, but this time seems really hard. I tried also with 4 and 5 slashes but nothing changes.

Tried also to launch the file from the file manager but it does not propose me FF even if it is the default browser, just some crap like pictures and similar app.

NOTE someone said the FF has removed the possibility for security, but at least on my pc I can do it without a glitch

Thanks in advance to whomever will reply

I have a live radio link I stream from on my laptop, and it used to work on mobile using firefox.

https://live-radio01.mediahubaustralia.com/6TJW/aac/

Granted I haven't used it in a while on mobile so there have been a few updates. However, I went to stream it today and it loads as a download link. I even tried to force a desktop site and it still wanted to download. How do I circumvent the download so it will stream the media on my android device using firefox.

To me, browsing the web is equally important on Desktop and on Mobile.

I have a really powerful desktop PC and I use Firefox for Windows with uBlock Origin. The speed difference between a Chromium based browser and Firefox on my desktop is negligible.

On the other hand, using Firefox on Android is atrocious, laggy, sluggish, slow as hell. I used Bromite (the lightest and most privacy focused chromium browser on Android) and I don't wanna go back. Sure, I'll lose the pristine cosmetic filtering and blocking capabilities of uBlock origin but the websites will load twice/thrice as fast and the app feels fast.

Now, if I change browser on mobile I will have to change it on Desktop too, cause of features like Bookmark syncing, sending pages to mobile and viceversa ecc...

I need a solution. I like firefox, what they are doing as a non profit organization, the battle against Chromium, the fact that adblocking works better ecc... but I don't want to compromise on mobile performance.

What should I do? Switch to something like Brave or is there any solution? Thanks.

I think it was Firefox 52 or somewhere around the time that Firefox 52 came out, there was an addon that allowed users to spoof their device. I could make my Android phone appear to various websites, to be a Computer, a Tablet, an iphone, etc. Does Firefox still have that Addon? If so, how can I download it? If not, does anyone know where I might find a similar one?

Thank You.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

I request for this option to be buried in an advanced panel somewhere. Firefox's ability to render desktop websites very well is attractive for power users in Android, because there are many websites that work much better in desktop mode, and some websites don't work at all on mobile. There is the ability to specify a user agent override manually, and some outdated add ons but these are very hack ish and janky.

To add insult to injury, I couldn't even use Firefox very own password reset without having one dialog box get in the way of another because of UI issues.

Hi all. Cam anyone tell me if there will be a print to PDF feature added any time soon? I really miss the feature for printing receipts etc but it's been missing since the new Firefox interface arrived. I keep having to switch too Chrome to print.

I've had a Google but it doesn't seem to be something that's available even by an add-on.

I'm using a Pixel 6 with the latest Firefox available in the Play store.

Suggestions please :)

Thanks

I have successfully synced FF on my laptop with FF on my Galaxy 9+ Android phone, but when I want to access a desktop bookmark on my phone, it takes 4 steps - 1. Click on the 3 dots at the bottom - 2. Click on the Bookmarks star icon- 3. click on Desktop bookmarks. - 4. click on the bookmarks toolbar icon. Is there a way to just click on the 3 dots and make it go straight to step 4, by-passing steps 2 and/ or 3? A true sync should add all the bookmarks in the bookmarks bar on the laptop more directly to the main page or at least the bookmarks icon shouldn't it?, and this seems clunky.

Thanks, Richard
