However every time I open a new tab- it will always open the Desktop version.

So,please if someone could publish the correct version.

When using Firefox on Android for a while, attempting to use pinch to zoom on a web site will cause Android to crash, as in the screen will go black, the G logo animation will appear, and I'll be sent back to the lock screen. It's not just the app that crashes. It doesn't seem to be a full reboot as that takes longer and starts with a different animation, but some part of Android is restarting.

It's consistent but not predictable. Pinch to zoom will work on one site fine and then crash on the same site later. It seems to be a resource issue as it's unlikely to happen on a fresh instance and it becomes more likely the longer you've been using Firefox.

This has been happening for several months, since at least July. It's happened both on my old Pixel 6 Pro and my new Pixel 9 Pro. It's happened on both Android 14 and 15.

I eventually found out I could go to Settings > About Firefox > Crashes and get some debugging info, but I don't know what to do with it. I currently have 15 crashes between now and Oct 16th which all say:

java.lang.RuntimeException: Adding window failed

Clicking Share to get more info on the latest one adds:

java.lang.RunetimeException: Adding window failed

at android.view.ViewRootImpl.setView(ViewRootImpl.java:1618)
at android.view.WindowManager.Global.addView(WindowManagerGlobal.java:442)
at android.view.WindowManagerImpl.addView(WindowManagerImpl.java:158)
at android.app.Dialog.show(Dialog.java:352)
[...]

Caused by: android.os.DeadObjectException

at android.os.BinderProxy.transactNative(NativeMethod)
at android.os.BinderProxy.transact(BinderProxy.java:568)
at android.view.IWindowSession$Stub$Proxy.addToDisplayAsUser(IWindowSession.java:1305)
at android.view.ViewRootImpl.setView(ViewRootImpl.java:1596)
... 18 more

I don't know what to do with this info. Should I file a Bugzilla report with just this? The GUID associated with the most recent one is 7a5e5497-bb62-4e3c-94fc-5c63c51d0830. I can't look it up in crash-stats.mozilla.org. Or should I assume all crash reports are automatically received? I'd still like to be able to have a Bugzilla bug to watch for progress.

I own a Samsung Fold 5 phone. I have set the outer display used when the phone is folded to 300dp. The inner unfolded width is set to 601dp.

Up until very recently, when I folded or unfolded my phone, websites would resize. Often switching between layouts made for phones and layouts made for tablets or desktops. This still happens in Chrome. But no longer does in Firefox. Instead the site has the same resolution in both modes, making the text too small to read when folded. This effectively makes Firefox unusable unless I unfold my phone. Please make Firefox respect the resolution I have set for each mode again so I can view websites at a width of 300px in folded mode like I used to.

Note I have the slider for "desktop site" turned off. When I try to turn it on, nothing happens. The slider doesn't activate and the resolution does not change. (But the page does reload.) This used to give me the option of 3 different resolutions for my screen, (300 folded, 601 unfolded, and something like 1024 in desktop mode.) I'm not sure if desktop mode is permanently turned on now, or if the phone is set to permanently use 601 width, but it is definitely not using the 300 width I used to get when folded. The desktop mode slider is to the left and will not change.

I opened site settings and turned off always request desktop site and nohing changed. I am still unable to get the 300 width site I need to be able to use Firefox on a folded phone.

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with Firefox Mobile on my Android device where bookmarks are not syncing correctly with my desktop browser. Here are the details of the problem:

Device: Samsung Galaxy S21 Android Version: Android 13 Firefox Mobile Version: [Enter version, e.g., 118.0.1] Desktop Firefox Version: [Enter version, e.g., 118.0.2] Issue Description: Bookmarks added or modified on my desktop do not appear on Firefox Mobile, even after forcing a manual sync. The sync works partially for tabs, but bookmarks and history remain inconsistent. My Firefox account is logged in and sync is enabled on both devices. Steps Tried: Ensured both devices are connected to the same Firefox account. Checked that sync for bookmarks is enabled under Firefox Sync settings. Logged out and back into my Firefox account on both devices. Cleared cache and reinstalled Firefox Mobile. Despite these efforts, the issue persists. Is there a known solution for fixing bookmark sync issues between Firefox Mobile and desktop?

Thank you for your help! [[check this|https://fluxusteamexecutor.com/]]

Cordialement.

How can I save a link to my android launcher and have it open in firefox even when the target has a manifest.json for a PWA?

By now I've done a bunch or research about PWAs. Old man Moz. has a nifty article about building them too.

Apparently they've been all the rage since 2017 or so.

But it's driving me up the wall at the moment. I like all the browser goodness available when I look at a website. Multiple tabs. Easy fwd/back navigation between sites. The ability to fire up another tab right there. Bookmark a particular page. Send a link. Whatever it is, I want my browser functionality.

I want to be able to save a link to my android launcher and have it open in firefox even if the marketing dept at the website would rather I thought it was an app.

Surely there is something in about:config? I've searched for everything I could think of and come up empty.

Whenever I leave Firefox even for a second it's like I'm opening the browser for the first time. Example When I'm filling data in a website and leave Firefox for a second the website refreshes and I have to input the data all over again. Or When I'm playing a video on YouTube and leave the app for a bit then the YouTube website reloads and I have to trace where I left the video at. It's happening to all websites.

Since Firefox nowdays is Multilanguage, but the downside is that when I choose one language( let us say English- UK or US).

Every time I visit any site it automaticly associate every site as if I were in England( or US). This also include ( based on my search history) that it also via default search for English websites. Since lagre multilanguage corporations have local websites as well.

But however in older versions it never had this issues. However for me it's quite disturbing( annoying). Since I myself live in Sweden( and isn't so interested of what happends in the states or england) Can some one please change( make correction).
