I have been unable to download PDFs using Firefox for the past six months. Every time I try, I immediately get the download "failed" message. I noticed that under "Settings">"General">"Files and Applications," the "Save files to" field is blank, and selecting the "Choose" button generates no listing. It doesn't matter whether the "Always ask you where to save files" is checked or unchecked. Can you help with this problem?

None of the topics really had anything to do about my issue so I just picked one.

Anyway, I want to always run the browser on my iPhone in dark mode but for a couple of month now it keeps resetting to light and most of the times I need to switch of the manual selection and back again to make it work.

I have had this issue before and after upgrading to iOS 10 and both on my old iPhone 12 min (RIP) and my new iPhone 15.

I have reinstalled the app multiple times to no avail.

I have made a screen recording that I hopefully managed to link to.

Please help.

Sincerely, Erik

This is a deal breaker for me. I’m trying to leave Chrome, but if Firefox is this broken then we are in big trouble.

When logging into a website where the username and password screens are separate (twitter.com for example) the autofill will not prompt to fill in the username. You must manually type the email first. Then on the next screen the autofill option prompts to fill the password.

I use Bitwarden. But it was the same for iCloud Passwords.

Firefox 36.0 (5732) can’t save picture anymore on mobile version of google search image + Firefox is detected as Safari browser

Greetings,

Since a few days ago, I am noticing an anomaly while using Mozilla Firefox app on iPad Air 1 iOS version 12.5.7. Mozilla cannot save pictures anymore via google image search results for the mobile version of the website while it allows to save pictures while on the desktop version of the website. Usually, when clicking an image on the google image result tile it shows the image in full resolution and then by clicking and holding a picture, it use to offer to save the picture (please see picture #1):

Now instead, Mozilla only highlights everything around the image shown in full resolution (on mobile version of the website) and it offers different options for the selected item(s) and it no more offers to save the image as usual (please see picture #2):

Using other websites on their mobile version with the iPad Air and Mozilla app mobile allows to save images. Thus the issue seems to be with the google website on mobile version.

Filling a google “bug” form about the issue listed that the device used was a MacOS 10.15.4, but I’m using an iPad Air 12.5.7. I then double checked with the website deviceinfo.me which also lists that while using Mozilla on the iPad Air, the web browser detected is Safari 13.1 and the OS used is MacOS 10.15.4 (which is not the case). Thus, it seems by two different sources that Mozilla on the iPad is not detected as the correct browser and so does for the OS used. (Please see pictures #3 and 4):

I cross checked these findings with another device on the same network using an iPhone 8 plus, iOS16.7.2 with Mozilla Firefox v120.1 (36298) and the Mozilla app allows to save pictures on the mobile version of google search image and the website deviceinfo.me lists the correct info regarding the iPhone model and the web brower used.

1. What is causint the Mozilla Firefox app on the iPad to prevent from saving pictures on the mobile version of google image search results?

2. Why Mozilla is detected as Safari on the iPad and appears to be running on the wrong OS?

3. Can anything be done to allow Firefox to save pictures on the mobile version of google search image on the iPad? Such as work around or update for the app itself? (Reinstalling the app on the iPad did not fix the issue).

4. Is the issue preventing to save picture with the Mozilla app itself (app which has not been updated since it started not offering to save images a few days ago) or is the issue on the google server side which maybe have been updated?

Thanks in avance,

B

I can't get saved logins on my web browser to appear in the iOS Firefox app.

I have sync enabled at both ends, and have tried signing out and signing back in, removing and then re-adding the iOS device, and disabling and re-enabling sync, but nothing has worked.

I see this same problem has been logged many times here before but all those threads appear to have been archived without a solution being offered.

This is Firefox-only behavior on iOS (16.x, btw), neither Chrome nor Safari suffer from this.

On my iPhone, links are set to open in apps if the app is installed. So if I open an Amazon-related link while browsing in Firefox, it will open that link in Amazon.

However, with Firefox, it opens a new tab "about:blank" when this redirect happens, which then seems to load the app.

With Chrome and Safari, clicking a link which has an app installed, simply redirects me to the app from the tab/page I'm browsing instead of opening a new one.

What is with this strange behavior with Firefox and is there a way to fix it?

Whilst sending a link from my Proton drive to others i have realised Firefox (latest version on ios also latest version) does not manage to do a basic fundamental task, I triple checked all the basic settings that could interfere, cleared caches etc etc

It flashes up a warning pop up, i click download, It reaches 100% then opens up a blank window, No file inside any download folder on iphone. It's a 200mb audio file, uncompressed.

I tried with Safari & instantly achieved the download even running a VPN, Firefox is my default browser on desktops & mobile devices for sync etc so this is very inconvenient.

Answers would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I'm trying to add a new Google Gmail account I just recently created to my iOS 17 iPhone 13Pro Gmail app and it's telling me I need to use a browser that has JavaScript enabled. I'm using Firefox as my default browser. How do I enable JavaScript so that Google will let me add my new email account?

Thanks for your help! Seems many have this problem and no answered in the support data base.

As an example, when I’m browsing Wikipedia, I often click a link mid-article to read about something related to the original topic I’m reading about (for instance, on an article about a genus of birds, I might click the link for one species). When I’m done reading the second article and click the Back button, it always takes me to the top of the page, instead of remembering how far down I’ve scrolled, almost as though it’s re-loading the page. This used to happen only sometimes, but now it’s happening all the time, and it makes browsing long articles extremely annoying, because if I was 3/4 of the way down the page, I have to scroll all the way back down to where I was, instead of the browser remembering.

As an aside, I’m posting this from Safari, because the link to the bug reporting page in Firefox’s settings doesn’t actually take me anywhere.

There is no Firefox pop-up or page change when I select either. Didn’t test for other issues since a unique bug for me. Never seen anything like this that didn’t crash the app.
