Firefox v140 on iPad, iOS v18.x.x

Missing Home Page icon on Firefox web pages after forced update to v140. Not good!!!

Is there any way to restore the Home Page icon (house) or restore a previous version of Firefox?'

A little square used to pop up when I clicked on the searchbar on my iPhone, but it seems to have stopped doing this with the latest release. Can anyone please help me find it, or if it has gone, then please confirm to me?

I can still open QR codes by opening the Camera App first, but the Firefox QR code reader was always easier to use, and I just like it more!

After years of hoping for a dedicated new tab button in Firefox for iOS, my wishes were answered this morning when I installed the Firefox 140.2 on iOS. As explained in the release notes, there is "a sleeker, more intuitive Toolbar and Tab Tray — with smoother animations, simplified controls, and a modern look that feels right at home on iOS." What's more, it replaced the (IMO) useless "home" button with a BEAUTIFUL one-tap new tab button! I was overjoyed!

However, a few hours later, my Firefox UI has reverted back to the old way. It still claims to be on version 140.2, so I don't understand how that happened. As far as I can tell, there are no options within settings to get the new UI.

What happened, and how can I take advantage of the new UI?

Firefox iOS updated this morning to 143.1 In private browsing it’s in dark mode automatically and won’t change even if changing to light in the settings.

Why does Firefox mobile for iOS look different on my iPhone 13 pro max vs my wife's iPhone 12 pro max? both UTD on iOS version. I suspect that I must be missing something in settings, but cannot figure this out. See images below.

On my iPhone 13 Pro Max, the Firefox app has the nice home button, tab button, and hamburger menu button on the bottom (address bar on top both cases). On my wife's iPhone 12 Pro Max, it has the "+" for new tab, the 3 dots instead of hamburger menu, and then the tab button. I much prefer the layout on my phone, as does my wife, but I cannot figure out how to change her layout to match mine.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I don’t seem to be able to add a Home Button within the Browser since it updated to the latest version. This is very frustrating as it gets used all the time. Please explain how I can add a home button.

The release notes for Firefox for iOS 137.0 mention a new icon picker. Where can that be found? Same question for the new “Appearance Menu”. I don’t see either of these anywhere and the release notes give no details. Definitely have 137.0 installed.

Hello! After the recent Firefox update, there’s no longer a home button in the task bar. Is there a setting on the iOS app to get this back? I miss having the ease to change a page immediately to my home page, without having to open a new tab and close the old one. Thanks!

Is there a setting for New browser tabs or initial App launch? I know how to adjust zoom per tab that is loaded, but when I “open“ a new tab it’s always 100%. I prefer to see more content, thus a lower zoom such as 90% or 75%, which I can always adjust after the fact.

Three horizontal line menu bar is missing. All I have on top are three dots. … Home icon is also missing. Can’t find any way to fix this. Deleted the app reinstalled and still have the same problem.

A few weeks ago, concurrent with the release of iOS 26, Firefox pushed an update for iOS and iPadOS (possibly Android too) which no longer shows the full URL in the address bar when it is not in focus. There is no option to toggle this on or off in the settings. I understand this was a change made in Chrome long ago that they say improves the security for users due to phishing sites, etc.

I would like for this to be an optional feature. It is especially frustrating when using a search engine, as I will have to tap the address bar to check what my search term was if I am halfway down the results.

In the latest update for Firefox for iOS, the release notes mention you can “Personalize your Firefox Icon with a sleek new app icon picker.” I cannot find this anywhere in the app settings. Can anyone tell me where this is?

When the syten Theme switches between darg and light mode, the keyboard color does not switch. Only when force-quitting the app the color is correct at next start.

The new UI for Firefox mobile is now very similar to that of Safari’s. While some find it easier to use, I personally do not enjoy it, as the UI was one of the bigger reasons as to why I made the switch to Firefox. A simple tab in the “Appearance” settings would be more than enough.

Please make the iOS app background changeable back to dark. It looks terrible with white background, in my opinion. Please make it background color an option in the settings. Thank you.
