Recently the iOs app for Firefox 123.3 began opening a new tab everytime I woke the browser app from sitting in the background. Very annoying. How do I get it to open the last active tab instead of inserting a new tab?

I upgraded to 143.2 on iOS 26.0.1, but I cannot access any swipe tab gestures, which I assume means I can just swipe left and right in address bar to move between tabs.

If i open a link to redirect to an app, let’s say wikipedia, it will redirect fine. When i switch back to Firefox, the mobile version of the link i clicked on will be loaded instead of just displaying search engine search results where i clicked the wikipedia link. (Admin note: edited to fix formatting issue)

Another thing that happens is if i click on the link, still being wikipedia, get redirected to the app, then close out firefox, the next time i open firefox, it will redirect me back to the wikipedia app.

This issue I have been having is not just related to Wikipedia, this is for any other link that may open a related app I have installed on my phone.

Is there any way the recent changes to the browser on IOS can be reverted in a future update or at least have the option to change the layout ? The recent changes make absolutely sense and are frankly aggravating as a longtime user, It honestly feels like a joke to suddenly have the tab names below the tabs and the tab menu at the bottom of the screen. Duckduckgo is looking more tempting with every recent update :/

How can we get rid of the invasive blue pop-up on iOS? Every time I get a tab I want to close, often ads I'm trying to avoid, I get this big blue banner that takes way too long to go away asking "undo closed tab" and ... I never want to undo but it's so frustrating having to wait for it to go away or switch tabs to get it to close faster. Why are they doing this to us? I'm switching to a different browser just to avoid dealing with it and it won't be safari.

I can't find a way to turn it off in settings, but whenever I reopen the window the last tab I was on is open even if I closed it before.

Is there actually a way to turn that off?

From time to time firefox deletes suddenly all my tabs in normal as in private browsing. Also few years ago I could turn off the „close private tabs“ option in setting, but since firefox cleared off everything (again), that option ain‘t available anymore. Someone pls help.

Any else seeing this lately?

Ever since I updated the app, all of my tabs keep disappearing when I close the app. I’ve kept a lot of tabs on my Firefox app, and it’s very upsetting that I keep losing the tabs that I need. Is there any fix?

this is a problem im seeing all over the internet, but nothing in your database. i just replaced my ipad with the newest ipad air m3 (2025). i have updated the operating system and all apps are updated since i just set it up today. when using firefox, and additional tabs are opened, they will not close by hitting the x to close them. the only way that sorta works is going to tab view and closing them there, but they will not close from the main screen.

how do i fix this? like i said, im seeing alot of posts on the internet complaining about the same thing.

I've been using Firefox for a good few years now, on my computer as well as my mobiles. After the latest update for my IOS (144.1 or 62735) and I've always loved the inactive tab system. I've noticed that some users have not shared my appreciation for it but as it has now been seemingly removed, (and I am unable to find anywhere in settings to toggle it back on) my tabs are now too many to efficiently traverse. Finding a specific tab is almost impossible.

Some of you may say, "Hey Truck, that's a you problem," and you'd be completely right! However since I do keep a lot of tabs on my mobile open and I don't close them down (because I usually go back and use them after the alloted 14 days) this is now an issue for me.

Wall of text aside, is there any chance that I may have overlooked in settings where to turn it on, and if not, could I please ask for that feature? Specifically Firefox IOS.

I'm on Firefox 127.0 (42448) ios and all my private tabs were closed on update and now whenever I make a private tab it disappears after the app is closed or refreshes. It's kind of behaving like the setting where private tabs are closed automatically but when I looked in the privacy settings of firefox ios it's not there anymore. Does anyone else have this issue? I know theres an existing problem with tabs for firefox but I don't think this is exactly the same because my normal tabs are totally fine.

The behavior of Firefox on my iPad when long-pressing a link and selecting the “Open link in new tab” option is counter to how it should operate. It opens the link in a new background tab. It should open the link in a new tab and bring that tab to the foreground, like it does in the desktop app.

I honestly don’t khow to describe this, but when I open YouTube, there’s a random chance for it to redirect me to the YouTube app and to add insult to injury, signs me out of the YouTube site on Firefox too… I have no idea how to fix this, I tried everything I could think of

I’ve updated to IOS Firefox version 127.0 I lost a good chunk of tabs in the private browsing section after this update removed the ability to leave private browsing tabs open after exiting the app. Scrolling down to the privacy section of the settings for my application showed me that the button/prompt for that setting was removed outright. If this was an intentional decision, it should have been noted in the update/change logs in preview of the IOS app store. I don’t agree personally with this change, but it happened regardless.

Hi! So I have been using the firefox app on my ipad air for a while now and in the last few weeks the following issue has turned up: Regularly, but not always, the app opens a new tab any time I click on a link. Example: I use moodle for work and each time I want to get somewhere in my moodle classes, a new tab opens. When I give the app a fresh start, the issue resolves for a while but returns eventually. I have no idea why but I have to say that it is quite annoying when you have to scrool through tabs all the time. Hopefully, you will be able to help me out. Firefox for iOS version 127.0 (42448) deletes tabs when app is closed. The option to keep tabs when the apps is closed has been removed from the privacy menu. So how can I configure the app to keep tabs between sessions?

After updating to version 129.2 on my iPhone, I can no longer rearrange my tabs. I can tap and hold on a tab and move it but then it snaps back to the old position. This is making the browser unusable for me. I have tried closing and reopening the app and restarting my iPhone but neither worked.

I am using an iPad. How do you stop firefox from opening a new tab when clicking on a link? I want to it to follow the link in the same tab almost always.
