Hi there!

When I position an HTML element fixed at the bottom of the screen, the elements gets overlayed by the Android software buttons at the bottom of the screen. The normal Firefox browser on Android is not behaving in this way, neither is Chrome.

See the attached screenshots. One is from the normal Firefox Android browser, the other is from Firefox Focus. The red element should also be visibile in the full 100px height (as the blue element), but the software buttons (black bar) overlay it.

Example-Code: https://jsfiddle.net/sjcadgh8/

Is this a bug? Is is expected behaviour? Is there a way to fix this?

Explain someone on the settings. Settings - Privacy and security (Cookies and site data) - Do not accept cookies:

  • Do not only accept cookies from third party websites
  • Do not accept only cookies from third party trackers

What do these points mean, what is their difference and what is better to put in this section?

I found a great use of css to create a 2001-style slitscan animation: https://codepen.io/PavelLaptev/pen/oxwXEB From my tests, it works:

  • on PC (Windows 7) in Chrome and IE11
  • on iPhones in Safari
  • on iPads in Safari, Firefox and Firefox Focus
  • on androids in Chrome and Samsung Internet.

But in Firefox 80 on PC and Firefox Focus on android, the animation does not move or, when it does, it moves unpredictably for a few seconds then stops. "Can I Use" says "@keyframes is unsupported in scoped stylesheets in Firefox" - https://caniuse.com/?search=%40keyframe -, but the codepen doesn't use a scoped stylesheet. One peculiarity on PC (Windows 7) is that the animation **does** move in Firefox 80 if I scroll the codepen HTML, CSS or JS panels above it. The other peculiarity is that on iOS, Firefox animates it correctly.

Just wondering... what information does Firefox Focus give out? OK... so it blocks trackers and deletes cookies when you exist the browser... Does it tell the end websites everything about you? Like what mobile and other details?

I checked out a page on a website called privacy.net. This tells you everything the websites can know about you. They give you an encrypted string score based on all information collected.

I tried using Firefox Focus with different IP's. Each time I ran the test with a new IP, I still got the same encrypted string.

That's just scary.

I tried to attach a file to an email when in my Protonmail account using the Firefox Focus browser. I simply could not attach. I would touch the paperclip icon, but nothing happened.

Later I tried to attach a file to an email with in my Outlook account using the Firefox Focus browser. I simply could not attach. I would touch the paperclip icon, but there was no response.

I wonder if there is a solution to this problem. I have taken the problem personally, for some reason, and perhaps I should not have.

I have been using Firefox Focus as my primary browser on Android for a couple of weeks now and the one feature I truly miss is the Reader View. Any chance of incorporating it into a future release? For now the easiest workaround is to open the page in regular Firefox and use the Reader View there. I've also tried sharing the page to Pocket but both of these options are not as convenient as simply clicking on the Reader View button in the Title Bar.

Any comments or suggestions?
