I just downloaded firefox 4 -BRILLIANT! However one small problem. I have a 10MB/s wifi connection, cleared my internet cache and history more then once, no other tabs or programs running but my online web videos are loading slow, and I watch them a lot since I miss them on TV. From sites like wisevid or karambavideo they used to load so fast, now they are soooooo slow and it's unbearable. Any ideas?

Hello, I was checking my addins/ plugins and it stated that there was an update for java so I clicked the link to update the program. After doing so and going to the java site @ http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp it is now stating that "something is wrong. Java is not working". I did restart the computer 3 different times as well as having uninstalled and reinstalled the program - restarting firefox and pc each time and the problem is still there.

When searching for information about the problem I came across a link that stated to go to http://browserspy.dk/java.php to check my java and it is stating Java enabled No or unable to detect... Java supported No or unable to detect... Java version Yes - version 1.7.0_07 Java using object and applet tag Java isn't installed or isn't working and that I also need an additional plugin (which I clicked to install - but it keeps stating that it failed and to install manually which I have also tried).

As per the link https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ all of my plugins are up to date and the java plugin information states Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.70.10 NPRuntime Script Plug-in Library for Java(TM) Deploy

The last thing I have tried was to go to the link http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp again and clicked to download the java Version 7 update 7 and that is now giving me a page stating "download Java for windows In order to optimize your experience and provide you with accurate messages, please enable javascript in your browser for the duration of your Java installation. If you still have the Javascript disabled please click here."

which takes me right back to the page to download the current version and install it on my pc. Just how do I get java working on my pc - it is working with Google Chrome and it was working without any problems until I clicked to update it using the link through the about:plugins link.

Any Assistance would be so very much appreciated.

After the lastest Firefox updates the Java platform quick working and I've tried everything suggested to get it to work again (I've gone through all the help suggestions listed) and nothing has worked. I need java for my business and have always been a huge fan of Firefox however this is a major issue as without java I cannot keep using Firefox. I have even tried uninstalling both Firefox and Java and followed all instructions to see if that worked and it did not fix the issue. Everything is up to date and there seems to be no fix for this. Is there something I'm missing? If this cannot be fixed I'm going to have to stop using Firefox. This is a major setback for Firefox and I'm not sure why they released a new version if this was going to happen. It says to try updating my graphics driver however this is a bit past my "expertise" and a person shouldn't have to take their computer in to a repair shop just to use Firefox or get this type of thing done. I have NO CLUE what the graphics driver is or how to check to update it, let alone if this will even work and am not going to risk messing my computer up to see if this will work. Java works on IE and Chrome perfectly fine and there should be no reason it doesn't work on Firefox.

I know this has happened to other people as I've seen other posts about the same problem, but none of the solutions I found have worked. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks.

In the last week, I have noticed that a 'spam-like' web site opens when I click on a button in a web site I am using. The site I was in goes to the correct location, but at the same time, another sited opens and becomes the one on the screen. One that has opened is (https://www.365dayloan.com/?hid=12573004&n=24329&fname=&lname=&email=). Another was a game site. This is NOT a pop up; it is an unwanted site on a new tab. How do I stop these unwanted sites from opening?

I do not remember ever going to this financial site before. I KNOW that I have never been to the gaming site.

Malawarebytes detects and flags the above and says it successfully removes. This appears to be true if I rerun a scan. However it continued to appear in later sessions. I finally think that I have tracked it down to firing up firefox. If I turn on my desktop and just run a scan, all is clean. I load firefox and run a scan and the pup is detected. I did in the past pick up the search facility Conduit but thought I had got rid; there is no outward sign other than the HKCU, and that was months ago.

Hi there,

I have a major/minor pet peeve that's been bothering me for years now. Too bad that it's only now that the idea of asking for help online crossed my head today. I guess that says something about me.

Well, you see, I always check my mail (Gmail) everyday after entering "private browsing". After I enter my username & password, I always uncheck the 'Stay signed in' box, before I press ENTER.

Yes, yes, I know that 'cause I'm in private browsing mode, that there's really no need for me to do that. But you see, it bugs me for no reason. That is why I admitted beforehand that I had a PET PEEVE.

So is there anyway for me to play with my account settings so that the box is unchecked automatically for me by default from now on?

Thank You!

I've asked this same question in the Google Help Forum and they've suggested that it could be due to anyone of the firefox addons that I've installed

Well, atleast here's the link to that discussion... http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/gmail/7m2LlSN6Aag/discussion

Somebody please help me!  :-(

PROBLEM: Accessing a site I've always used with ease, and siumilar others, login pages no longer show the Captcha "I'm not a robot." that uses the images "Click on the street signs", or "cars" or... etcetera. Yet, Chrome displays it fine, as does IE.

TESTS: - Tried to access with add-ons at normal. FF has, as always, has Adobe products blocked. FF refuses to let me use it anyway, refuses to let me upgrade it because the FF "Upgrade" link just opena a Moz wall of geekinese attempting to explain that FF is protecting me - but no update. I fought FF and was still able to update Adobe stuff.

- Tried with all addons disabled.

- The "About Mozilla Firefox" screen that cannot be copied and pasted here on barely visible, very light gray font "Firefox is up to date". 52.1.2 (32-bit) Apparently, it is now called Firefox ESR. What ever that means.

I've attached an image showing both versions. The working one by the Stalker - Chrome, and the one that quit by Firefox.

How do I fix Firefox so the Captcha boxes are back?

the pop-up are covering the pages and are unavoidable. When tabs are clicked, either an unrelated tab is opened or I am taken to another site which I do not want. Most often it is a site that asks for an "Important download" like a Firefox update. I just reinstalled the newest version of Firefox so cannot need an update. I have no add-ons at this point, so that cannot be the problem. I have all pop-ups blocked supposedly.
