Hi,
I have 3 users on my laptop. Admin, user and kids account. Mozilla worksl flawlessly on all the accounts except the kids. I try to access yahoo.com or google.com and the page will not load. The family settings on the kids account is set to allow all web sites.
I get this error An error occurred during a connection to www.google.com. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)

Starting yesterday, when images would load on websites, some of them would either be completely black, or mostly black, with only a piece of the images loaded, only to fully load several minutes later.
Turning off hardware acceleration resolved this issue, but reduced the overall performance of firefox. Is there any other way to work around this issue, besides turning off hardware acceleration?
Note: The only 2 things I didn't try were resetting firefox, and a fresh install of firefox. I don't want to lose my addon data, and custom firefox settings, because it takes too long for me to put them back where they are now.
I'm also fairly computer savvy, so you can get pretty technical with me. If I don't understand something, I will ask.

Hi,
Each time I start Firefox I get a warning pop-up from malwarebytes advising me of an outbound request from Firefox to a malicious site "bestwaytosearch.com". I have checked the home page settings and reset it, checked the search engines along with add-in and extensions. I have also cleared the history and browsing cache but just can not get rid of it.
Yes I can exclude it but that would only mask the problem.

This problem has been occurring for the past 2 weeks every time I use Firefox on each of the 2 PCs I use everyday. The problem may occur a few minutes after starting Firefox or it may be hours of continuous use before the connection is lost. It doesn't matter if I'm running Firefox by itself or have background apps running, but definitely requires Firefox to be running before I see a problem.
Configuration: WIN 8.1 and VISTA 64; both with latest updates. LAN: cable modem and Belkin wireless router; both with latest firmware. Firefox v37.0.1 with no add-ins or add-ons. Start page is "blank".
Symptoms: Windows status bar shows I am disconnected from the router. Router and modem status LEDs show I am connected to the internet. Same for the WIN network status app. It shows no router connection.
The problem can be temporarily fixed by power cycling the router. Or, by just waiting a random period of time the connection may (or may not) be reestablished on its own.
I also use a standalone PC application that streams text data in short bursts and runs all day (no video or music... just short lines of text) with no problems until I start Firefox in the background. Then it may go a few hours before the connection to the router is lost. I also frequently watch videos on my tablet with no problems from the router. While typing in this question on a PC I was disconnected from my router. I'm hoping to get some suggestions as to what to inspect or change. Thanks!

Until the the most recent upgrade(s), Firefox would automatically save my log in information for my home page. It no longer does. When I start Firefox now, I have to click Sign In, choose my saved password (from Roboform), and I am logged in.
Sometimes I can close Firefox, reopen it and I am still logged in. Most of the time when I close Firefox and reopen it, I have to sign in again. I have the same settings in the current version as I had previously but still have issues.
I have tried all the standard 'stuff' (making sure passwords are saved, etc.) but nothing changes. I have uninstalled Firefox and started 'from scratch,' but it hasn't helped. I'm baffled.
B.T.W. if I use Internet Explorer, my Sign In settings are saved. I want to use Firefox but signing in every time is a pain.
Thanks.

I've downloaded Lightbeam because I'm paranoid about viruses and malware but it never does anything. (I have actually just downloaded it for a second time in case I hadn't done it properly but have same problem). After I've been on the net the screen remains blank and none of the links/buttons seem to work. I have searched for it in the Programmes and Features section of my control panel but can't find it there to take it off either. I am not very computer literate so please explain in simple language. I have Firefox 4.0and Windows 8.1 but might upgrade to 10. I don't know what extensions are but I do have Google and the standard things that come with an Asus laptop with Windows 8.1 (but I don't really use much except weather and Outlook). Thank you for your help. P.s. does Firefox have any programme like photoshop?

I have an HP Pavillon, Juno email and Firefox is my default browser, At some point while accessing my email I will get the "unresponsive script" error and although it gives my options to continue, debug or close, none of it works and computer freezes. So I have to go to Task Manager and close everything down and start over. Very frustrating. It has also happened when I have been on other websites or with Internet Explorer. HP has tried fixing it, Juno has tried ....all to no avail. I've tried refresh, done many virus/malware scans, etc. It seems to me there is a plug-in or an add-in or some box somewhere not checked. Any ideas?

Today I got a new type of fake urgent update. Normally what happens when I get one is that it hijacks the page I'm on and puts up what looks like a red firefox page with URGENT UPDATE scrawled across it, and a box opens wanting me to download the "update" aka malware or whatever malicious software it might me. Today what happened is that the "update" download box appeared wanting me to click on it, no I did not get a screen shot of it, but it was without the Urgent Update page. Later when I went close the tab it asked if I wanted to close 2 tabs, it was only then that I noticed 2 tabs were open, the second was the Urgent Update fake Mozilla page. This was the address of the page that had opened eufeehostingdude.net . I tried googling the name and nothing came up. The only time I get these is when I click on pages on FB, usually they try and piggy back in on apps, but today it was a legitimate news page.
When a webpage loads containing a flash video, the flash video window jumps to the lower-right corner.
Why does it do this and how can I stop it?

My context/drop-down menus will no longer abort "close" as they used to with a simple off-menu click. The only way I can force them to close now is by hitting the ESC key. For example, if I click on Help in the Menu Bar but decide to abort the action, I used to be able to click anywhere off-menu and it would close. Same thing happens when right-clicking on a webpage to bring up the context or spell-checker menus but then decide not to click on a menu item. In all cases the only way they will close now is to actually select an item in the open menu or by hitting the ESC key.
This issue is exclusive to Firefox. It does not present in IE, Chrome, my OS (Windows 8.1), or any other apps. I first noticed the anomaly sometime after updating to Firefox 48. I have no viruses, hijacks, adware, etc. Restarting with Add-ons disabled had no effect, not could I find relevant info searching support topics here or via general search engine queries.
Anyone have any ideas besides doing a refresh and re-configuring everything?

On the morning of October 1st, 2016 I was trying to move April's webhistory into September's Webhistory by tricking my computer into thinking it was still September 30th, so that I wouldn't have to randomly search through the massive category of "older than 6 months" eventually Firefox refused to continue loading pages or even access older pages on my tabhistory. I restarted my computer & allowed an update to Firefox to activate, however when I reactivated Firefox it took a lot longer to load than normal, only for it to show a crash message after about 1 minute each time I tried to start it, safe mode & restarting my PC made no difference.
Eventually I had the insane idea to copy all of my firefox information onto a flashdrive then completely refresh it on my main computer, however even then there was no difference. In frustration I decided to start using the vastly inferior browser known as internet explorer, I looked into Mozilla support using it. I got this computer in late July 2013, & was extremely careful with it, there were no virus threats or anything on this computer & I'm still using Windows 8. This is my most recent crash Crash ID: bp-c995142e-114e-4ae4-a013-4dd1a2161003 This is probably the oldest Firefox restart crash in the chain Crash ID: bp-f9bd6bcf-f99b-4276-9ac3-e790f2161001
Hopefully this information helps some.
