I had already bought a registered version of IDM cc 7.3.49 before I upgraded my Firefox to 25.0.1. After the upgrade Firefox disabled IDM integration, and so I can not download flash videos or anything using IDM. I neither know if upgrading my IDM will solve the problem or not, nor I am not willing to pay for a new IDM upgrade. Please guide me if there is a way to solve the issue, or a way to restore my Firefox to its previous version or versions listed in my upgrade history.
Best Regards,
Alex

How do I fix it?
I have three Firefox Plugins which are disabled, but no means to remove same, and they do not show up Microsoft Uninstall or Change a Program Panel.

For the past ... I really don't know how long now, most of the time I just gave up, but I'm finally fed up with it ... YouTube has been displaying "An error occurred, please try again later" on any video I try to play; embedded or on YouTube, it doesn't matter.
Safe mode does not resolve the problem.
The only way I can get it to work is by (1) using a separate, clean Firefox profile (-no-remote -profile "x:\path\to\clean\profile"), (2) trying a different browser or (3) completely resetting Firefox (I manually backed up my main profile directory before doing this).
But: copy pasting the URL into a different profile or browser for every video is a pain in the arse and resetting Firefox is not an acceptable solution. I have a ton of customized extensions that would take hours to reconfigure. And, as I mentioned, safe mode (ie.: disabling the extensions) does not fix the problem.
Has anyone actually got to the root cause of this ridiculous error?

Whenever I click a link, it opens in a new tab. This just started almost a week ago, but I didn't change any settings or click anything--it just started doing it by itself. It is extremely irritating, because it just increases the number of tabs I have.

I'm getting pretty sick of it because I thought I was going to get away from pop-ups on firefox...

So essentially, it seems that somehow my PC has picked up a version of the Google redirect virus. It is only affecting Firefox, and it seems to be a bit stealthier than previous versions. Essentially, 70% of the time I try and click on a search result (only the first one clicked per search), it will redirect me to a php script on a different server. It seems the script analyzes what I searched and attempts to redirect me to a phishing site that has related information about my search e.g. realgamerz.net and other shady URLs. I assumed it was a registry issue, but despite using all of the below virus/malware scanners nothing has been found. Is it possible one of my plugins has been compromised and that it has something to do with the Firefox software/Firefox plugins? Your advice is much appreciated.
1) Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 Professional 2) HijackThis 3) SuperAntiSpyware 4) Spybot S&D
If there are other recommended malware scanners you think I should try I would be happy to do so.

I have tried reinstalling the Java Plugin for Firefox over and over and over again, but it says that I still need to install it when I go to a website that requires it. I made sure that the plugins page for Firefox says that it is enabled (which it is). Java works fine in IE for me, and Chrome. Firefox is the only browser where Java is not working.
Please help me, or I will be switching to a different browser. Thank you.

Despite having spent several hours searching fruitlessly on the internet, I still cannot find a quick and simple fix for removing Yahoo as the default Firefox search engine. I do not want rubbishy Yahoo search results. I want to use Google, and if Mozilla Firefox won't let me remove the Yahoo default and nominate Google, then I will walk away and use a different web browser.
There is no simple way to dump Yahoo as the default searcher on Firefox 25.0.1. There is no 'search engine preference' tab in the Firefox drop-down tab, and Yahoo does not show up in the add-ons or extensions list. Nor can I change settings in about:config in the browser.newtab.url line. It is almost as if Mozilla is making it impossibly hard for users to chose which search engine they want.
If Mozilla want to make users use Yahoo then they should clearly state that this when they install Firefox software. I do not like being manipulated in such a cynical way.
If anyone can show me how to easily change my settings so that Google becomes my default search engine then I will be grateful. Thanks in advance.

Suddenly Yahoo Toolbar appears in my Firefox, I didnt install anything on my computer, firefox did it herself.
When I search how to delete it, not hide or disable with possibility to show up again, I get no doable answers.
Of course I can hide it, but I want it to be out of my machine forever, its my choice.
Many answers say, go to "Add-Ons" or "Extensions" or even "Plug-ins", but there are no Yahoo Toolbars to find.
I found the toolbars in my Firefox Installation folder, try to delete it...and when Firefox starts it makes a new toolbar for Yahoo Instantly.
I tried different versions of firefox, I actually tried everything, thats why Im writing you.

With a Java update my Firefox starting site has been hijacked by Ask Toolbar, indicating itself as my standard search tool instead of the Google, which was my choice. How do I remove it?. I cannot find the name Ask Toolbar in my Windows list of programs. And it is not shown as a part of Java, so I can find no way to delete it. Are there any other names of programs that might cover for Ask? I have tried to remove Java, and then reinstall it, carefully removing the x for Ask. It did not help, Ask is still dominating the starting site, and claims to be my standard. It is so annoying! My system is Windows 7. I hope for help...

About 4 days ago, Adobe Flash Player updated to 11.5 and started crashing multiple times a day. So when Firefox updated to 17 today, I immediately uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled the new versions in hope that the problems would be fixed. When that wasn't the case, I followed all the steps for Flash 11.3 and nothing has worked. This is only happening in Firefox. Flash works fine in Google Chrome and in Internet Explorer. My school's primary requirement is that I use Firefox with Flash to do my schoolwork. This is an issue if I have to restart Firefox multiple times during my session. 25% of all Flash crashes also crash Firefox. I need help soon.
