OS: Windows 7 Firefox Version: Current, no extensions or add-ons active

This problem started out of the blue a month or two ago. When I type in the search box or any input field on a web page, more often than not, the browser will go into "Not Responding" mode and I have to exit and restart. At the same time this started, the same problem also started happening when a pop-up window would appear (perhaps only those with input fields?). The problem with input fields seems to happen most often when they are trying to auto-complete what I am typing, but turning this off in the search box did not end the problem there, just made it happen a little less often.

I tried doing a 'refresh' on Firefox, that had no effect.

If I run Firefox in troubleshooting mode, the problem does not occur.

I do not think this is a virus problem; I have Kaspersky running, and I haven't seen any other telltale signs.

Hello Firefox people, I noticed that before the last upgrade to the browser, my Firefox Color was working fine. Then it stopped altogether. Now it will load up, but there are no colors in the area where there was before the upgrade. I am on Windows 7. Is there a better version to use with the extension? An older one maybe that isn't too terribly old, or is that not a good idea? I made some themes I want to send out--about 15 of them! Is there an other way to give away my art forFirefox Color--posting it somewhere, or another" loading zone"? Thank you for your time and help. It is getting frustrating that it keeps refusing to load up completely. I love playing with the colors. Have a good day. Sincerely, VJ Smith

On last week i tried to sing in to my firefox account on my laptop, but i got an "e-mail was returned and we’ve locked your account to protect your Firefox data." message, and is still locked. I'm sure my e-mail account is working, maybe the problem is, my messages is automatically forwarded to an another e-mail address, but i haven't had any problem when i logged in on my personal computer. Someone can unlock my account, or what should i do?

PS. Sorry about my english, i'm not sure is everything correct what i wrote, but i hope everyone can understand whats my problem.

Since the last update, my browser home page shortcuts have become a single big letter instead of the old icon style picture. This new update has made it too confusing to find which shortcut I need. I cant even enlarge the font size under this new stupid shortcut icon. I will happily go back to my old browser if this crap cant be changed. Why do we have to have what they want us to have instead of what we want in a browser? I really wish all companies would stop forcing their own ideas on us, most of it is pathetic childest rubbish.

Currently on v88.0.1 on Windows 7 desktop, Windows 10 Laptop and Mac OSX Sierra. Looked at a review with screenshots of v89 and noticed a few issues. Where did the 'Customize Toolbar..." option go? It also appears the the 'Compact View' for tabs is being moved/phased out? that would not be ideal on a small screen. Being able to customize my view is one of the main selling points for Firefox. On Windows 10 HP laptop we still put up with occasional audio getting killed in Firefox (Edge never does this) and having to play a wave file in Groove Music to get the sounds back.

HELP.

Hope you can fix this asap.

I'm going to have to immediately abandon firefox browser to continue working, as this is unworkable for me.

again - the issue is: right click menu - some options are GONE (example - open in new tab or window)

Seems to happen (so far) only in google results search

Noticed this after update to Firefox 89.0 --- am Using windows-7 professional /64

I TRIED to get a screen shot of this (thanks for messing THAT up - as right clicj for THAT doesn't now work here EITHER). but when I do an ALT + PRNT SCRN screen shot, the right vlivk menu box goes blank / white - so I cannot even show you the issue.

Could this be some kind of a conflict / issue with: adblockers? extensions? add-ons? Google itself?

thanks

New windows sometimes have previous URL's in them even though I've set them to open Blank in Settings. Once these open sometimes I cannot type a new URL. Nothing happens after using Alt_D which usually highlights the Address Bar for entry of a new URL. I can't even highlight it by clicking with my mouse. Its like its locked into the previous address. The last one was a bank. And I can't even open a new tab from this window. Control_T opens a new tab in the original window defeating the whole purpose of segregating your work in different windows so you can group numerous tabs.

Sometimes there's a delay in a website being recognized and log in info filled in, sometimes its never recognized like just now with accounts.firefox.com yet its in my Passwords. URL was checked and was identical in both. You'd think Firefox would recognize firefox.com!

Sometimes it fills in the password after I have entered the username. This is for sites like Firefox.com that don't have the username and password on one page but sometimes its happened when both are on the same page. But shouldn't it recognize the username or does it have to have both on the page? Is there any way of making these types of pages work properly? This is not high security. As if I could care less what people read or know what I'm posting in a forum like this on the operation of a browser.

For months I have noticed that about 25% of the time, when I click on Google News, Firefox loads less than half of the page. It loads the"Headlines" section, the "For You" section, and the "U.S." section and then stops loading but displays the spinning circle icon at the bottom of the page. At times if I reload the page it will load the full page, most of the time it just repeats the same behavior.

This happens on two similar Windows 7 systems (fully updated) with an always up to date version of Firefox (currently 89.0). When this happens I usually switch to Microsoft Edge and it loads fine every time.

Does anyone else experience this? If so, did you find a solution?

I am not sure if this might be a Firefox problem, a Google problem, or my problem, but I am starting here first.

My google searching is leaving me at a loss here. I did something and the taskbar at the bottom of the web browser is now covered by the browser. Not the bar at the top, the bar at the bottom that has whatever other programs you're running listed in multiple tabs. Every single damn search is leading to how to mess with the task/toolbar at the top of the freakin page. I can make it reappear if I press the windows button or open another program, but while in Firefox it's not visible. The top taskbar, bookmarks, and all are still there so it's not in full page mode. I know the fix is probably ctrl and some other button somewhere but what?

Strona Wizzair. Windows 7 prof, Firefox 89.0 (64 bity)

I'm running Windows 7. I have Webroot SecureAnywhere. Starting immediately after I upgraded to Firefox Version 89.0, whenever I go to a site, and open a picture, the picture loads from the top down (as it is supposed to, I think). But- now it loads slowly (prior to upgrading to FF Version 89.0, it loaded instantaneously), and it starts loading from the top in white, as the picture "fills in." ('Wish I could take a screen shot, but- by the time I open screen snip, the picture has already loaded.) I don't have my hardware accelerator enabled. I tried safe mode. In safe mode, this doesn't occur. Also, when I use Internet Explorer, this problem does not occur. Again- this problem started IMMEDIATELY after I upgraded to FF Version 89.0. NO other changes to my computer before this problem began. What is the problem? Thanks, for any help.

Every solution which I have found for Firefox 89 "Proton" so far which moves the Tabs Bar below the Navigation Bar (AKA "address bar"), with the Menu Bar above it, does NOT move the Tabs Bar below the Bookmarks Bar. The Bookmarks Bar appears to be overwritten and blank, and occupies space below the Menu Bar, Navigation Bar, and Tabs Bar. This empty space separates the three bars which are implemented and the content of the currently-selected tab below it.

Evidently, the text editor for this website does several things to the above original text that, frankly, seem unnecessary and undesirable. The .CSS file is just an unformatted text file, so what is the problem with simply copying its contents and pasting it in to the body of this post?

Which is also to say that I do NOT have a clue as to what any line in the file is meant to do, what effect it has, why it is even in the file at all, or why it is written in the way that it is. So DO NOT tell me that I "CAN" create a Cascading Style Sheet on my own when I cannot even modify one that has been provided.

On the face of it, something is missing from the above CSS text. What change needs to be made to the above content so that the Bookmark Bar will appear between the Navigation Bar and the Tabs Bar??

Thank-you very much for your time and attention to this request for assistance.
