I've been using firefox for a little while- maybe three months now. I'm no expert on any of the config options. I run firefox using the built in VPN that my friend showed me how to enable, and I've been using it since. But now, as of roughly today, whenever I enable the VPN, no websites will load. At all. When I turn it off, they load instantly. But whenever I turn it on, it just gets stuck loading forever and ever, never actually getting anywhere. I tried enabling network.dns.disableIPv6 in the config page, because that's what I saw on a mozilla support page- nothing. Didn't do anything. The browser.ipprotection.enabled is still on, and I didn't change anything in settings. There was a firefox update very recently, but everything still worked with the VPN on. I just updated my computer, but I don't think that's it either because it wasn't loading things earlier today either. Not sure how to fix this. Please help?

What I have observed The warning appears on Firefox network-error pages, including when the internet is disconnected or I enter an incorrect URL. A particularly reproducible example occurs after I successfully log in to Kotak Net Banking and select Help → Raise a Query. Firefox then displays a connection/privacy warning associated with the embedded page. I do not see the same behaviour in Chrome or Firefox Private Browsing when performing the equivalent Kotak steps. Troubleshooting already completed 1. Norton Safe Web HTTPS scanning was disabled and re-enabled without resolving the issue. 2. QUIC/HTTP3 scanning, WebSocket Protocol Scanning and DNS/DoH scanning were individually tested without resolving it. 3. Firefox Enterprise Policies are inactive. 4. I found no SSLKEYLOGFILE entry in either Windows User Variables or System Variables. 5. Norton and Dell malware scans found no malware. 6. The warning also occurs when I connect through a mobile phone hotspot rather than my usual BSNL connection. Questions for Mozilla's technical contributors 1. Does this warning establish that Firefox detects SSLKEYLOGFILE, or could another mechanism produce the same message? 2. Can the variable be inherited by Firefox from a parent process or injected into its running process even when it is absent from the Windows User and System Variables? 3. What is the safest way to identify which process or security product is setting it on Windows 11? 4. Is there a known interaction between Firefox 157 and Norton 360 Standard that could explain this behaviour? 5. What evidence should I collect to distinguish a Norton issue from a Firefox issue without disabling security protections or modifying Windows settings? I am not looking to disable security features indiscriminately. I want to identify the actual cause and, if Norton is responsible, determine the precise setting that needs attention. I would particularly appreciate a response from a contributor with Windows networking, Firefox TLS or security-software diagnostic experience. Thank you.

For the last several weeks, one of my computers when it updated to the new settings menu (version 156ish?), it has lost the ability to maintain some of the synced profile settings. For example, I have a couple websites that I list in the exceptions to not have Firefox clear the cookies, and I additionally have the clear cookies and site data check box enabled so that every other website I visit clears upon exiting. This is the setting combination I have utilized for years to keep the cookies from only 2 websites and clear out everything else.

On one of my computers, I'm able to add the exception, and as long as I do not close Firefox, the website exception settings stick. However, as soon as I exit Firefox, and open it back up, the settings clear themselves again, and I have to manually enter the exceptions again. This is very frustrating because one of the sites that I keep the cookies on the exception list has multiple different logins saved so that I don't have to manually re-login to every time I open Firefox.

I have attempted a refresh, and that did not fix the problem. I have fully uninstalled Firefox, manually deleted the %APPDATA%\Mozilla\ folder contents, reinstalled foxfire and this too does not fix the problem.

The weirdest part of this whole issue is my laptop, does not have this problem and the exceptions are sticking so I know that this setting combo works. Additionally, I have tried unchecking the clear cookies and site data box and this too is not allowing the exceptions to stick.

I have also tried re-syncing my account to pull the settings from my laptop and this too is not working.

This experience is on Firefox 157.0.1 (64-bit), Windows 11 Pro 26H2

I always use C Cleaner to clear unneeded my unneeded data once a month. It does not usually affect my Firefox shortcuts on the Firefox homepage. It was also after Firefox had updated to version 158.0 . I did this on Wednesday (14th October) and all of my pinned Firefox shortcuts have gone missing. They have not come back, and no other shortcuts are being shown after I have since visited any websites. What has happened to them? Will this be corrected? Regards John

I use Read Aloud in Firefox on my gmail. Sometimes it works and sometimes it gives this message:

"Missing host permission for the tab", It gave this message a couple of mornings ago and later in the day it could read the same gmail. Today it is back to not being able read multiple gmails. The extension is ver 1.71.1 and Firefox is 157.0.1 (64-bit). Windows 11 PRO 25H2.

Now it is working again on my gmails. Read Aloud is a critical tool for me. Last week it was working all the time. I complained to the text owner(The Bulwark for instance). in a couple of situation. Now I feel foolish because it probably isn't their fault.

Currently I am trying to use the firefox built in VPN option. When I hit the turn on it turns on and goes green but I am unable to browse. I suspect this is due to the corporate firewall and content filters that are in place when I am in the office. The firewall team is looking for support as we are unable to find out what access is needed to be open for this service to work. What IP's does the service connect to for access? What ports are use for setting up that browser level VPN? Is their any application or urls that should be allowed? If documentation for what access is needed to be opened on a corporate firewall would be appreciated. We have searched extensively and cannot find the information other than this runs by Fastly. We cannot find ports/urls/ips that are needed.

This is new behaviour. I havent been playing with the settings, so I imagine its come as a side effect of an update...?

Very frustrating since I have come to rely on having 6 permanent tabs which I use every day for new, prices, weather etc...

I've been using kelly blue book to research new cars. Yesterday it would load the vehicle information, but when I click on the blue box "see pricing" it just reloads this page. Has worked fine for the past week or more, but yesterday started doing this?

Is it really not possible to adjust the font size? I found no setting for that. I only can cheange the text size of webpages, but not for title or menueor other thing a the top of the firefox window. These are readable with thunderbird, but not with firefox after I changed to a new laptop with higher resolution. Size of elements should be measured in points, mm or inches an not in pixels, as pixel sizes are depending on HW. The attached image shows the comparison between thunderbird and firefox.

Bonjour, J'utilise le thème sombre avec Windows 11 depuis longtemps. Lorsque j'ai activé les thèmes contrastés (Aquatique, Crépuscule, Ciel nocturne et Desert ) avec Windows 11 26H2, Firefox 158 s'est retrouvé avec ma page d’accueil personnalisée désactivée. J'ai essayer de la reparamétrée mais impossible : la page reste juste avec le nom Firefox et le champ de recherche sans le bouton de personaliser. J'ai l’extension "Dark Reader" qui s'est aussi désactivé. Tout est revenu à la normale après désactivation des thèmes contrastés. Cordialement.

I have a Mini PC connected to my TV. I use the Top Sites shortcut feature to remind me of which TV shows I'm streaming. Each time I complete an episode, I edit the Top Site and change the URL to the next episode, so that, when I come back and hit the shortcut -- it keeps my place in the series.

This all worked perfectly until the recent Windows desktop build of 157.0.1. Now, when I edit the shortcut and click save, it doesn't Save the edit. Instead -- it creates a duplicate shortcut in my bottom row.

It doesn't matter which Top Site I edit -- they all do it.

Can anyone duplicate this bug?

Hi! I´m using Jdownloader2. After an update of Firefox the captcha-extension of JDownloader didn´t work anymore. I reinstalled Firefox, but adding the extension is still prevented. Following quote appears: "Firefox hat die Website daran gehindert, Sie zu fragen, ob Software installiert werden soll" It should be in yellow (but it isn´t), like following site describes: https://support.mozilla.org/de/kb/Add-ons-koennen-nicht-installiert-werden#w_firefox-hat-die-website-daran-gehindert-sie-zu-fragen-ob-software-installiert-werden-soll Furthermore there should be a button to authorize the installation. Instead there is only the button "OK". I followed the help-site mentioned above to the letter, to no avail. By the way, I´m using Nightly now, but JDownloader2 automatically wants access to Firefox. Would you please tell me, how to add the mentioned extension. Without it I couldn´t download most files! Please answer to following email: [redacted email from community support forum]

When I try to attach several (more than three) small email sized jpeg files, my Yahoo email tries to load them, then re-load them, and ultimately gives a splash screen, that says, "Cannot be saved, as a draft", and locks up. The files are 1mb, or less, This was never a problem, before Firefox, and Yahoo issued "new, improved" versions, of their software. If I only attach about three files, at a time, let it attach them, then attach more files, it will attach them with no issue, and I can send the email. This does not seem to be a problem with other browsers.

I am having issues making the menu bar reappear after I enter full screen and I am using only the touchscreen on my laptop I can't get it to reappear I have to tap the screen like crazy, when in the past I could just slide down and it just worked it.
