Over the past week I've had this error popup a few times when Firefox is launched:
"You've launched an older version of Firefox. Using an older version of Firefox can corrupt bookmarks and browsing history already saved to an existing Firefox profile. To protect your information, create a new profile for this installation of Firefox."
I haven't yet spotted a pattern, but the most recent time it happened, I had the browser already open and either opened a new window or clicked Firefox in my start menu. The new window showed my homepage (blank tab) but was unresponsive: I couldn't type into the address bar, click a bookmark, or even close the window. The existing window was fine, so I closed that but had to kill Firefox in Task Manager.
When I relaunched Firefox, I got the above error message. Luckily I use Sync, so my many bookmarks are backed up. But of course all cookies have been deleted, so I have to login to websites again.
Firefox is up-to-date (84.0.1, 64-bit) and running on Windows 10 Enterprise. I even uninstalled, cleared out the data in AppData\Roaming\Mozilla (plus Local and LocalLow), and reinstalled.
As I said, this has happened a few times over the last week (3 or 4?) and is starting to get annoying now!
Any ideas? Thanks!

It seems like something has changed recently, I don't remember having such problem before. As you can see on one of my pictures I have browser settings changed to always ask what to do with every file extension, yet encountering link to pdf file it loaded automaticly in special frame instead of showing just link to it. I included pictures of this frame, settings and another screenshot of the same website in Opera browser with similar settings where nothing loads itself.
Link to the problematic comment with auto-loading pdf: https://kodluch.wordpress.com/2021/09/30/30-09-2021-syria-2187-dzien-sprzatania-swiata/#comment-115906
Is there any way to block such pdf-frames in current version of Firefox?

I, today, found that Firefox 88.0.1(64bit) sends "/nice%20ports%2C/Tri%6Eity.txt%2ebak" to an website. What is this? Am I infected? The Apache log at the HTTP server is as follows:

Hi
I don't know what's happened to cause this, but for the last few days if I grab a torrent file online, I only get the option to save the file, no option to automatically open in my torrent client.
I have been to Firefox general settings, and Applications - "Choose how Firefox handles the files you download from the web or the applications you use while browsing" but .torrent is not listed. When I search "torrent" in the Applications search box, I get only "magnet" as a result, nothing for "torrent" files (see image).
Any advice on how to automatically open .torrent files from the web in my torrent client would be appreciated.

In most standard Windows applications, the title bar and tab colour follows the default Windows settings, e.g. (in my case) the title bar and tab colour of active application windows is blue. This is true even in Thunderbird. Since FF 89, title bar and tabs are something between white and light gray, which is extremely user-un-friendly. FF developer team should return to the previous colour scheme. Yes, I know the circumstances of free software but this is NO excuse to alienate millions of users. Developers that change fully functionable software just, well, just to CHANGE it should consider that they are doing WRONG. Could anyone tell them? I am just user, not developer and I am not willing to learn developer tools like BugZilla just for this simple guiding principle.

In Settings/Applications, have "JNLP file" set to "Use Java(TM) Web Launcher (default)". This is used in Oracle's Agile to view documents. In previous versions of Firefox when selected, the file would open using Java to display the document from Agile. As of Firefox 97, now only "Save File" or "Cancel" options are offered. What happened that this functionality has been removed?

How do I make it black for ease of visibility - but not the web pages (just the upper bars). I have searched for hours and none of the answers either match what to do, or work.

I recently installed an SSD with a new install of Windows and Firefox. I still have the old hard drive with Windows and Firefox installed on it in the same computer. I am trying to transfer the data (like passwords, bookmarks and other stuff like that) from the old versions to the new versions, but am having troubles finding how.
How do I get the new Firefox to look at the old hard drive to find the data?
My Firefox icon disappeared from my Desktop
