Hi there The most recent update for #Firefox has a "bug fix" (1565315) for which the access to details are denied. That's peculiar for an open source project. The bug is about Russian users having their default search engine changed. Is this just a geolock? VPN didn't work. I like to be able to view the details of any update I'm installing, for obvious privacy reasons. When will these details be made available so I can update? Thanks.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Firefox on macOS is fine.

Using firefox 45.8.0 ESR on Windows.

Trying to load https://secure.scheduleonce.com/dana

The page doesn't load, and in the network panel I see a crossed padlock icon instead of green padlock icon for this request: OPTIONS https://cfproxy.scheduleonce.com/get-data/GetLandingPageLayout

on Chrome / Safari / IE and even more recent version of FF this page loads fine without any problems.

Is there any way to debug what's wrong with that reques to resource exactly ? FF doesn't give me any information as to what went wrong.

I suspect it might be related to the fact it's a preflight CORS request (the requested domain is different than that hosted page domain).

Please help.

Thanks.

Has anyone else run into a problem with drop-downs after moving to ESR 52.2? We had no problems on the previous version 45.9. After the update to 52.2 the lists in our drop-downs are now double spaced. The same drop-down is also fine in Internet Explorer and Chrome. We believe this is also causing issues when doing Print to PDF on some other forms.

Hello all, For reasons of privacy, I want to be able to change the OS identifier in the user-agent string that is sent with every http request. I remember with older versions of firefox this could be accomplished in about:config and changing the useragent string, but this doesn't seem to be an option with newer versions. I have tried on both firefox for FreeBSD and Windows 8.1, to no avail.

If it is assigned at build time, could you please direct me to the area of code where this is handled so I can fork the code, change it locally, and build it for personal use?

This is the string I am trying to change: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; FreeBSD amd64; rv:53.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/53.0

I suspect it may be stored in one of the files in the ~/.mozilla directory, and while I wait for a response, I will be picking through there.

Thanks in advance,

When I open a new tab (or an existing one) and try to search using any of the 3 search boxes, nothing happens. When I enter a website starting with www., nothing happens. I installed AVG software recently. This is a recent problem. I have no way to search in Firefox. I don't seem to have any search engines installed any more, and standard directions on installing a search engine don't work.

In settings when I click on the magnifying glass, often nothing happens. Clicking any other icon in settings, like privacy, etc., works fine.

The green automatically add button below gives me an error message.

My Firefox sync worked on Windows (Win 7) last night, But I was trying to make it work on Linux (Ubuntu Mate) and Android (5.1.1) for hours and nothing works. Windows and Linux are both on same Laptop. I tried Removing config folder, Deleting my Firefox account and Recreating it a dozen times but still doesn't work. Windows did fine (At least the last time I tried it, which was last night !), But I was busy trying to make it work on Linux and Android since then. It acts different on both : I'm really confused because this was working before. Yesterday I decided to Reinstall my Operating Systems and it happened after I did so. I only Reinstalled my Linux and Windows so if there's anything wrong with Operating Systems, It should work on Android ! All my Firefox versions are the Latest (49.0 until today), So there shouldn't be an Old version bug or something !

Linux : When I log into my account it asks for EMail verification and when I verify my Email (Either on the same browser or on my Android browser), Firefox on Linux says "Verification complete, Sync will begin momentarily" but the Top-Right menu where I can sync Manually is still waiting for Sync. After I Restart Firefox, manual Sync icon appears, But when I click on the Icon, Literally 'Nothing' happens. The icon won't start Spinning (As it should normally do !). I even checked about:sync-log, There's nothing there (Both with (true) and without (false) logOnSuccess config).

Android : When I log into my account and verify my EMail everything works fine but nothing syncs. So I try the Manual Sync button and when I push it Firefox starts syncing but then No matter how long I wait, It won't sync and if I get out of Firefox even momentarily and return the "Syncing ..." is turned to Sync button again with "Last sync : never".

What I'm suspicious towards is Firefox boycotting Iran (Where I live), But I never saw that before ! I mean Firefox believes in free software movement, Yeah ? Unless it's servers are located in USA and they are forcing them to do so, Which I don't know about ? Does anyone know ?

By the way, if you need any more information to solve this problem, I'm pleased to give.

Hi all,

I updated firefox to version 48 today and to my dismay found that it is no longer possible to disable add-on signing, not even for specific addons.

For me this is a showstopper because I am using Firefox at work and I absolutely MUST be able to use the F5 Networks Host Plugin to access a legacy VPN. This plugin has no signature and there is no update provided (yet?) by the network I am connecting to.

This is reason enough for me to stop updating Firefox.

I have gone back to Firefox 47.0.1 which allows me to disable add-on verification and I'm sticking to that version unless someone can tell me there is another way?

Thanks
