Using Firefox v 99.0 (64-bit) on Windows 10. THE IRS has a form program for income taxes called Free File Fillable Forms that uses displayed forms (like the 1040 form) that you fill in with your tax data. Suddenly the fill-in boxes are misaligned from the text, so cannot be used. This is, uh, important. Go to IRS.GOV to find this system. I've used this system successfully for years. Google Chrome does seems to work. Thanks.

Today is 10-12-2023 and as of the last update to Firefox (118.0.2) external news links on posts in Facebook or Facebook messenger no longer work on WIN11pro64 computers as indicated through testing.

There is only an "I beam" indicator and frequently the posted news article links; and images do not appear when using Firefox (however they do appear on other browsers; no issues detected). As noted, this anomaly also applies to Facebook messenger external news links. Based on timing of this update 118.0.2 and the repeatability of the failure on various computers (with WIN11) and the absence of any other changes to all of the computers, all indicators are that this is not a Facebook issue and as nothing else on any of the computers has changed the 118.0.2 has an apparent issue. (In summary this effects every one of the 5 WIN11pro64 computers I have tested with the Firefox update, so far)... the only change to ALL OF THESE DEVICES was and is the Firefox update (118.0.2) .

In addition have tested Firefox and Facebook on 2 additional computers (WIN764pro) - to keep comparative balance; on 1 win7pro64 unit the Firefox app was not updated and on the other win7pro64 system it was updated to 118.0.2.

And after that round of testing the outcome was conclusive - the Facebook external news links work seamlessly and without issues (NO UPDATE TO FIREFOX ON ONE COMPUTER with WIN7pro64 and an UPDATED Firefox (118.0.2) with WIN7pro64 on the other)... both systems worked and the noted failure was not present.

These tests conclusively indicate to us internally that updating the WIN 11 units to 118.0.2 was a mistake.

Additionally for further comparison for this note - with Firefox update 118.0.2 Facebook external news links DO function on Opera and Chrome (for both WIN 7 and WIN11) all computers tested are the original 7 ... I have not tested other browsers for compatibility nor have I tested other computers, as the data seemed conclusive.

NOTE: If you are planning to respond please do not 'guess' (SWAG) at what you randomly speculate the issue(s) might be, as that would be an unproductive use of everyone's time... if you don’t have a proven solution you don’t have a solution, thank you.

If there is someone with knowledge of the 118.0.2 update that can offer an intelligent and proven solution please do so here...

but haphazard proposals of random unrelated experimentation without tested basis...or the concept of incorporating unproven suggestions such as maybe you should "change this" or "reinstall this" or "blah blah" when (I reiterate) the only changes to six (6) of these computers is the update 118.0.2 nothing else the seventh computer has an older version of Firefox and win 7 pro64. 118.0.2 functions correctly with win7pro64 and on Opera and Chrome browsers.

All intelligent proven workable input is appreciated because as of now Firefox for any and all of the WIN11 computers here Firefox has been removed from our approved list; as further failures are unknown.

I don't understand why FitnessBlender.com looks all out of wack, it has been like this for as long as I can remember. Font is all crazy and overlapping, hard to even navigate the page. Have also noticed FF is loading everything slowly lately especially FB, which eventually stops loading as you scroll through the feed. I have cleared my caches etc to speed it up but has gone back to being slow. I have loved the concepts available with FF and hate to stop using it but it has become annoying.

I have been using Firefox for some years now as I find it less intrusive than Microsoft or Google and currently have version 99. Usually I manage quite well with using my laptop but recently, several of the websites I have been using, I have been unable to access as they are now using the Google reCAPTCHA system. I have looked at various websites and, as I understand it. Firefox can be modified, if that is the correct term, to enable access to these reCAPTCHA sites. Unfortunately I am 76 years old and not very technically knowledgeable when trying to change things when necessary. Could you please explain to me, in layman's terms, if it is possible to change Firefox to accept reCAPTCHA and, if it can be done, how and where do I start. I am sorry to trouble you with this problem but any help you can give me would be very much appreciated. Kind Regards Christine Marshall

I've tried going in safe mode, turning of my Facebook container. Deleting cache. Signing out of Facebook. Also adjusting the backspace key in my Config. Having no problems on my Android phone or when using Opera. It's on on Firefox and on Facebook.

FACEBOOK screen suddenly moves to the bottom of the screen when I am typing a comment. Whenever I hit SHIFT+alpha_letter at the beginning of a line OR simply hit the backspace key, the screen suddenly shifts to the very bottom of the page again even if I have tried to scroll the page back up to the middle of the screen manually. This shifts the entry area where I'm typing down and sometimes off of the visible screen entirely. Just hitting the backspace to correct a typo causes the screen to scroll on its own. I have to scroll back down to the entry box and if I make another typo, it happens again.

Please help. Been going on for over two weeks. I was hoping the new Firefox update yesterday would help. Nope. Still happening.

I know websites are storing permanent data in profile/storage/default but I wanna change the location to another directory. I don't wanna disable the dom storage, I just want it all to go to another directory of my choice! How do I do that? I checked everything related to dom.storage in about:config but couldn't find any mention of the location. Will it work if I simply add a new value "dom.storage.targetdir"?

Hello,

hope this is a good place to ask about my issue with the new version Firefox version 99:

For showing images on a website I create divs with css3d rendered png background-images (scaled down through css transforms from 1000px x 1000px) and later apply css filters eg. "filter:drop-shadow(red 10px 10px 10px)".

Tested on various Win10 and MacOs machines with v98.0.2 and older, images get displayed with a drop-shadow in best quality. Updating to v99, once any filter gets applied (through dev console or through js within my software) the image quality is reduced a lot, which did not happen before. I attached a sample image from v99 (left: added filter, right: same image without filter).

When scaling the websites zoom factor to 500% the images will be displayed correctly without any quality loss. Scaling to 30% results in a very bad render.

I tried applying image-rendering to no avail. It would visibly change the render mode, but not improve the actual quality. The pixelated image would still be pixelated with the new render mode.

I'm not sure how to further tackle this problem and hope someone could help with this issue.

Thanks Max

I can access all the usual websites I visit, but not my own website: "zoomselling.com." However, I can access it on my cell phone and the website folks checked and tell me my website is working fine. I was able to access the website using 'duckduckgo' but only after I verified I wasn't a bot. I think there's some security issue that is causing the firefox browser problems with the website.

When viewing email on Outlook in Firefox, there now appears a rectangular black box over part of every email. This does not occur when viewing Outlook emails on Chrome or Edge. I thought it might be because of my adblocker (Ublock Origin) so I turned it off, but the black rectangle still covers part of my messages (and I have Ublock on Chrome, too, with no problem viewing Outlook).

The rectangle covers only a portion of the messages. When I scroll the message, the black rectangle remains stationary and the message scrolls behind it, thus revealing the portion previously covered by the black rectangle (a different portion of the message becomes covered).

I tried to take a screenshot to show the black rectangle covering part of the message. Amazingly, even though the black rectangle is there when I take the screenshot, the screenshot itself does not display the black rectangle....instead the message appears in the screenshot without being partially covered by the black rectangle.
