Hello, - Computer Nec Versa One P/N NNAN1700202 (32-bit) - XUbuntu 18.04.2LTS (i386), no upgrade possible to 19 LTS

- Message asking for an update of Firefox (expired root certificate, extensions disconnection) - Proposed download completed (Firefox 135.0)

- Firefox/ Help/ "About Firefox": 113.0.2 (32 bits), no update proposal - Launch the . exe file from previous download In the "About Firefox" window, version 135.0 appears well during installation When the computer is restarted, this panel has returned to version 113

The computer works normally and perfectly meets my needs (emails and internet searches), so it is out of the question to change it (it would be scandalous from an environmental point of view)

What should I do? Thank you for giving me the precise instructions on how to proceed. Sincerely, FC

I updated Firefox from 136.0 to 136.0.1 last night. When I reloaded and checked the version number, I got the display "Firefox is being updated by another instance". I tried closing and reopening a few times but the result remained the same. I then rebooted the PC but no difference. I shutdown the PC and went to bed. This morning the issue was still there until I logged into my Mozilla account via google in order to type this message.. I checked the version number while typing and now it checked for updates and displays "Firefox is up to date".

So problem solved. Just curious why it happened?

Thanks

Good Morning! :)

I have a note book HP, which windows operating system was erased back in the past, I happily use mozilla. This device I use it exclusively as a monitor to watch TV.

I got the notification of the Mozilla update, I have downloaded many times in the laptop: firefox-136.0.1-tar.xz However does not run or execute the file and update the system and laptop. I am able to open the file, but that is all.

Please let me know what I am doing wrong to fix it.

Thank you very much for your attention

using 64 bit Linux here.

I download an update, but it doesn't do anything. It constantly tells me I need to download an update. Currently using 133.0.3

I managed to get an update through Linux, but now I'm having trouble with Linux. I suspect I need to remove Firefox and reload it. I tried to do that one time but it didn't fix the problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm used to manually update firefox browser on my windows 10 pc, everything was fine before, but I found a strange situation about two weeks ago, the situation has occurred twice so far --

For the previous version, I manually download update in settings, firefox browser can be restarted but not updated after clicking restart firefox button, and an error notificaion firefox being updated by another instance appeared instead of 'check for updates button, then the update process started when I exit firefox browser and reopened it.

For the latest version, the strange situation occurred again when I tried to manually update firefox browser, the only difference is that I don't see the error notification from last time.

Why does the situation happen? Do it cause any risk? How can I fix it?

So I know this question has been asked and answered in various scenarios but so far I've not found one matching mine.

Personal PC. I'm on V 131.0.2 since a reinstall last year but only now realised no updates have been done since because of this msg. I've worked through the various fixes others used re policies, but I can't locate any policy files in the various locations suggested; registry editor (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox key (don't have it) & others, about:config (nothing showing on a search), Program Files/Policies (don't have it), C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Distribution folder (don't have it). So I could not find the offending poicy DisableAppUpdate anywhere in locations offered by other posters etc.

Rather than taking forever to pin down the culprit, can I not just manually update to the latest version or will that delete all my settings/extensions etc?? Given how often it's crashing I'm almost tempted down that road except that I like to have my History intact as I often want to find a site I've not bookmarked.

Thanks.
