As the title suggests, I've found that exceptions added for 'Enhanced Tracking Protection' simply do not function in a private window; they're entirely ignored. The discovered 'Tracking Content' (from shield in the address bar) will list the exact domain that's whitelisted and the network tab of the devtools will label the URL as blocked due to tracking content. Obviously this is wrong, that short of per-window type settings, this should be global (and makes no sense to differentiate anyhow).

Switching to a standard window fixes this, however, and the exceptions are taken into account.

Hello, I manage a healthcare education website (https://thelabon.com/contact-us/) and I'm focused on optimizing privacy and performance for users accessing our medical content through Firefox. Currently I have not embedded it yet I am using only an image of the map instead. What are the recommended Firefox settings, extensions, or practices to ensure user privacy, especially when embedding external tools like Google Maps or analytics services? Any guidance would be appreciated!

I read a SmartBlock explanation, but it was quite unclear. Seems to be tying SmartBlock to Facebook. I do not use Facebook. Why is logging in with Facebook required for SmartBlock to work on sites that are unrelated to Facebook? Very unclear.

Your support page -

Introduced in Firefox version 120, you can make use of Global Privacy Control (GPC) to automatically notify websites not to sell or share information about your browsing session on that website.

GPC operates as a “Do Not Sell” mechanism in some US states such as California, Colorado and Connecticut. It may also be used to indicate an opt-out of targeted advertising or general request to limit the sale or sharing of your personal data in those jurisdictions, as well as in jurisdictions such as the EU, UK, Nevada, Utah and Virginia.

To turn on this preference:

Click the menu button Fx89menuButton and select Settings.
In the Privacy & Security panel, scroll down to Website Privacy Preferences and click the Tell websites not to sell or share my data option.
Close the Settings page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.
