In v76, I was able to stop the URL bar from enlarging by setting browser.urlbar.update1 to false in about:config. In v77, this enlarging URL bar behavior seems permanent. I find this behavior annoying and unnecessary for me. Actually, I think this is just plain dumb. The text does not enlarge, just the URL box. Is there a way that I may be able to disable this behavior, thank you.

Is there an option in about:config that makes the url bar not show my top sites? I know that disabling top sites or changing browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.topsites to false will make the url bar act like in the past, but i don't want to disable my top sites. When i open a new tab, i want the page to show my custom top sites and the url bar show suggestions based on my history.

HDD was failing in my other computer. Put in a new HDD and transferred bookmarks (FFox. 16.++ on both) but don't remember how to transfer my saved passwords. Some folks helped me with this when I rebuilt this PC (the one I am using to send this info), and I remember most of the path and method but not well enough to attempt it without some guidance. The other PC is an ASUS G50VT-X5 laptop.

Firefox website shortcut icons on my desktop now look like the first choice one sees when right clicking a shortcut icon , then left clicking "properties", and then clicking " change icon" -- they should look like a white square with the firefox logo in the center instead of a white square with a little box containing 3 tiny symbols.

I'm running XP Pro SP3

How do I get Firefox to check add-on compatibility first, then ask me if I want to continue the Firefox update? The update process currently only tells me that an add-on has been disable after applying the Firefox update. The Options > Advanced > Update tab switch, "Warn me if this will disable any of my add-ons", does not seem to work.

When I was using the old version of Firefox (13.something, I think), hitting the "ESC" key instantly stopped any page loading. This doesn't work in my current version (16.something). Steps: I enter "wowt.com" (that's a local TV station web site) into the address bar. When I do this, I get suggestions of sites that I have visited before (that's ok). As soon as I hit "Enter" on the keyboard, it takes me to "woot.com". This is not an autocomplete issue. This only happens in Firefox (I've tried in Chrome and IE9).

This seems like a spellcheck feature for the address bar in Firefox that needs to be turned off.
