Hi, Since the search open tabs function is part of the overflow button in a horizontal tab layout, when you switch to vertical tabs, you lose that search function. Is there a way to add it to my vertical tab layout? Thanks, Scott

Hello- When I am on a website and click link I would expect and want a new Tab to open-- I want it to open it in a new Tab and leave the page I'm on alone so I can go back to the original page.

Instead, Firefox overwrites that page and the tab with the a new one, and I have to hit the back button to get back to that original page. And most often the back arrow button is grayed out and I can't get back at all.

In settings, I've tried checking the box for: 'Open links in tabs instead of new windows' but that doesn't do it. I've also tried checking the box, 'When you open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately,' and that doesn't do it either.

I know that a work-around is to hold down the Ctrl key while clicking a link, but I'd like to set it as a default so I don't have to do that. That's a pain and not a natural function when browsing. To be sure, I want to click on links and that creates a new Tab without Ctrl Keys.

PROBLEM: Pinned tabs are useful, but if I have more than one Firefox window open and I close them in the wrong order, the next time I open Firefox, my pinned tabs are gone and I have to pin them again.

SOLUTION: Pinned tabs should be able to be permanent so that they will re-open no matter which Firefox window is closed first. Is there a way to make this work?

While it may be obvious, for some reason it didn't connect. I was trying to group pinned tabs. It doesn't work. I have to unpin them, if I want to group them. If someone could add to it? I'm likely not the only one.

Can anyone explain to me why Firefox apparently can't seem to maintain its open tabs? In a world where every other browser appears to retain active tabs between sessions, it seems Firefox will permanently lose all of them if you so much as blow on it, i.e., inadvertently close a tabless window, effectively overwriting any previous window with the open tabs. At the very least, other browsers allow users to recover any lost tabs, and even entire windows of tabs, with little effort. The fact that this hasn't been addressed is perplexing.

All of my tabs at the top of the Firefox window have vanished. There's a list of websites at the left side to choose -- but I am not able to open more than one window. I want to restore all of my tabs!

Hello, I periodically check to see if there is a way to stop dynamic tab resizing without having to edit the registry. I have tried several methods involving tab size in settings and nothing has worked to stop the dynamic resizing. Any new ideas out there?

I have my browser startup settings set to 'open previous windows and tabs' However, every time I start up firefox, it is on the default new window screen rather than my previous tabs. This feels frustrating as I have to reopen the tabs every time.

Would it be possible to fix this?

I just saw that there isn't 'list tabs' (V) in the vertical layout. Did you have any idea of how to rectify this small oversight ? Thank for this browser. <3

I often hit ^T (control-T) in firefox without meaning to, because I use that chord in other applications a lot. In firefox it opens a new tab, which is almost never what I want. I'd like to suppress that keyboard shortcut. I tried doing it using vimium (unmap <c-t>) but that has no effect.

When I start Firefox on Windows it does not open all the Windows it had last time even though that option is selected in settings. It seems random on which Windows open.

Then I start one Window at a time and restore my tabs from bookmarks. Once I have done that I have all the Windows in the order I want, with the tabs I want.

Then for no apparent reason some of the Windows disappear and/or the Windows change order. This is very frustrating.

How do I get Firefox to always open the Windows in the correct order and keep them displayed in that order?

I have set the minimum size of tabs to 50 in about:config, but I still usually have more pinned and regular tabs than will fit, and it goes into the overflow arrows. Is there an add-on or configuration where I can have the tab overflow as a drop-down?

I have pinned tab, but reaching them is inconvenient. I have to wait until the "List al tabs" menu appears. Is there such a thing as having the pinned tabs always visible at the beginning of the tab bar?

I also like this new sidebar pop out. Is there any way to place selected tabs there? There is this 'Tabs form other devices" options. Since that is the case, I don't understand the point of not allowing us to put tabs ion that sidebar from anywhere we like.

My selected topic "settings" actually does not really describe my tabs problem. Even though I followed instructions for entering "about:unloads" the expected webpage did not appear. All I got was the same instructions and not a page that included the table and its unload button that was said to be above it. When I select the New Page tab and right click and then select three tabs, the right-click menu only shows the option to "close three tabs." There is not an option to unload three tabs. Yikes! And when I select one tab and click on the one option to unload one tab, the selected tab does not unload. The tab does not unload. The tab does not unload. It is still there. (???) This is very frustrating! I can only close tabs. So far I can only temporarily close them. Could the problem be that I am still using Windows 10? Please advise. Hello! Recently i migrate to Windows 11 25H2 and when i use sleep mode and open browser after waking PC up - browser opens without all previously opened tabs and i need always use Ctrl+Shift+T to restore them. Sure, checkbox to "restore all previous tabs" are on. BUT! If i reboot PC (via shutdown or Shift+Reboot) and launch browser - all previously opened tabs are present. Found this issue 2-3 weeks ago and still cannot fix it.

This has been infuriating me for a few weeks now, I accidentally close tabs all the time when using Firefox and I normally right click the top and click the "Reopen closed tab option. However since this change, I have constantly been miss clicking on the "Turn On Vertical Tabs" options which is incredibly infuriating because It adds 3 more clicks to just reopening a tab. This "Feature" cannot be turned off no matter how hard I try and I am very close to switching to another browser due to this.
