Hello, I did fresh OS install ( windows 10 64bit build 1909 with latest updates ) and after I was done installing programs I need and use, I installed my fav browser that I use over 15 years now and discovered one strange issue. Let me explain, I use mouse logitec g502 hero, now this mouse has some nice features that offer me to configure some buttons on it to work like switching tabs on browser when I have multiple tabs open, Its very easy to navigate like this on firefox, now since I installed latest version of firefox 84.0.1 64bit, tab switching dosent work anymore for me sadly, for example, if I open 3 tabs and wanna move from first tab on the left side to the second tab near it, it works, but if I want to move from second tab to the third one, it switches again to the first tab, like there is no third tab open at all, if I wanna go backwards and switch from second tab to first one again, it dosent work at all. Now I thought maybe its bug with my mouse software where I configure this things but no, in google chrome for example tab switching works perfectly and without issues, so it leads me to believe, something inside firefox got broken on new version and it causes issues now??? Can I get some help on this, if its on my side? Its really huge handicap for me, if I need to go back and manually click on tabs in order to navigate through multiple tabs.

Is there any way to disable the autoscrolling of the tab bar upon opening new tabs?

I already use the addon "Tab Open/Close Control" to set the behaviour to open new tabs right next to the active tab but the tab bar always scrolls to the right moving my viewed tabs and the new tab out of my view.

This is driving me totally NUTS.

Please help me circumventing or preventing this behaviour of the new Firefox Browser.

[rant] I don´t know why Mozilla keeps changing their already perfect browser to an unusable piece of shit software.

This trend persists in the software industry starting with M$ changing their OS from almost perfect Windows 7 to the actual software junkyard called Windows 10.

Why is Mozilla following this trend? /rant

Many thanks up front for providing a solution.

Merry christmas and a happy new year to all of you.

I just came back to Firefox after about 2 months, as Microsoft crushed my OS with their fall feature update. I could not get many items running, and just had to start from scratch.

That being said, I surely do not recall that every time I clicked a link, it would open in a new tab. I mean, every single time. Who ever thought that was a good idea.

Anyone have a clue as to what's happening here? I usually only want a new tab to open when either I choose it as a right-click option, or when builders have invested it specifically in their code, as they know it will navigate away from their site, etc...

I would be most thankful to get this baby back running like normal. Your help is appreciated!

Btw, fresh windows 10 install. The only extensions I have running are adblock, lastpass, blur, downloadthemall and new tab homepage (which just let's me determine the page address.)

I was doing some research yesterday and had a multitude of tabs open with various stages of information. I took a break and when I returned, Windows had rebooted in order to make/install some Windows updates. As a result, I "lost all the open tabs".

Is there a make Firefox remember what tabs I have open such that, if the computer crashes, reboots or I accidentally hit the "X" in the upper right-hand corner, Firefox will remember all the tabs I had open and go there when I open Firefox again???

I have Firefox 84.0.1 (64-bit), supposedly the latest version at this time.

TIA, Luis

When firefox is in full screen mode, as soon as I take my mouse cursor to switch tabs the Mac Os action bar (bar with close and minimize icons on it ) covers the tabs and make it hard to switch tabs, same happens while reaching for address bar which extremely annoying and frustrating.

I see other applications handles it really well for this situation so its not the macos issue. I reported this on twitter too but no satisfying response. I like firefox and don't want to switch back to other browser so please fix this. This issue is extremely frustrating and impacts the core functionality of the firefox or browser in general.

I have attached images from Chrome and source tree, both are third party application. Best handling of this action is done by safari, which smoothly animate and make the space for close and minimize buttons along with the tabs but that's a first party app and not sure if the same can be achieved by third party apps.

I am running Big Sur but this was happening even in Catalina.

Thank you!

Good morning

About a month ago, restarting my computer removed all my open tabs. He also reset the "recently opened tabs" section for me. The "restore previous session" feature also did not work. I also tried the methods of looking for backups in computer files and decrypting them on this website - https://www.jeffersonscher.com /res/scrounger.html, but probably they did not work by closing the browser twice and opening several tabs. Is it possible to find tabs from my previous session?

In chrome if you drag a tab away from the tab bar it becomes its own window while still dragging and as such you can drag a tag out and snap-it to the screen edge in one motion.... But... in Firefox a dragged tab only become a window after you left it go and the windows title bar isnt even positioned where it was dragged to.

So is there a way to make my firefox tabs behave like chrome tabs do?

I move my tabs around a lot and this is literally the only reason i use chrome instead of firefox.

Hey There!

I have set photos.google.com to automatically open in a tab container called "Google."

Now I would like remove this automatic function, as i might be opening that website in different container tab, since i have a mutipule google accounts spread across different google accounts.

Is there a way to remove or unlearn the "Always Open This Tab in a Container" for a specific domain?

As far as I can tell you can only change the container the automatically opens, but you can't just unlearn it.

Any suggestions?

Maybe add a unlearn option to the menu in the attached picture?

[Both antimalware operations run - Malwarebytes premium trial, and RogueKiller (in Safe Mode) came back as there being no detections / clean, BTW; does that mean any infection hasn't migrated to my PC from FF?]

Tried accessing 'places' file on my desktop as seemingly directed; cannot open with another browser (Opera) nor otherwise - to further clarify, malicious tab in question will not allow me to: close it - by either clicking on its 'x', or right-clicking to use 'Close Tab' option in pulldown menu, nor use the previous page arrow, or return to home / the Google search engine screen, ANY other tab which is part of that session.....is there any way to change the default function so it DOESN'T automatically land every time on THAT precise tab upon reopening, and I can then go to History / previous sites visited to delete? Again, there are a LOT of webpages the links of which I haven't had a chance to copy & paste into an email for myself, and I'm hoping that completely eliminating them all, can be avoided......thanks

...or hovering the cursor over tabs. That would save a lot of clicks. This used to be possible with the good old Tab Mix Plus extension, but since Firefox Quantum (57) it's no longer supported. There is an extension providing similar functionality (Tree Style), but that only works on the side pane, not the actual tab bar. Is there a way we can do it post Firefox 57? It would save me a lot of fatigue! :)
