Last time Firefox updated, I managed to find information online about moving the website tabs so they were below the bookmarks instead of at the top of the screen. It was a huge pain-in-the-butt to do.

After a recent re-install, the tabs have moved themselves back to the top of the screen and nothing I do seems to be able to move them back below the bookmarks.

Is there a way I can move the tabs that doesn't involve spending hours hunting through posts on the web, changing hidden Firefox settings, and recoding .css files?

If not, why do you not give the option to move the tabs wherever the user wants? Especially when it makes far more sense to have the website tabs directly above the website being viewed, at least in my opinion?

I'm currently using Firefox 85.0.2 (64-bit).

For the last few updates of firefox I haven't been able to restore closed tabs with the regular keyboard shortcut (believe it was ctrl+alt+t and now ctrl+shift+t). The shortcut simply does nothing at all. It is frustrating as sometimes I close a tab by accident and then I have to go through the whole process clicking to find it instead of being able to bring it back up in half the time using the shortcut. I am on firefox 90.0.

Hello.

Cycling through unpinned tabs is easy, Ctrl+Tab does the job.... But what about pinned tabs?

People are more likely to have more pinned tabs open and saved to their browser than unpinned tabs, like myself, as surely, that is the point of pinned tabs.

So I cannot for the life of me understand why I can't find a keyboard shortcut to cycle through these!! Is it really possible for developers to overlook this simple but extremely useful and effective shortcut?!

Can anyone help?

Mike.

Hi,

I noticed that when I open a specific site, the tabs bar becomes huge, and when I close it, the bar goes back to its normal height. For example, it happens when I go to this page: Problematic Site

I have no idea why it happens. I remember that it did happen before, but I only noticed now that it has something to do with having some specific pages loaded. So I know it has happened because of some other sites, but I don't remember which ones.

Even if I change the tab, the tab bar stays big, as long as the problematic page is loaded (even on the background).

This also happens in safe mode, so it's not because of my extensions, I imagine. Also happening on another laptop here.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Thanks,

I have several hundred tabs, tick them all and want to bookmark them, but that never works. Never! I uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled it. It still does not work. I've turned off all add-ons, it's still not working. The error has been present for 2 or 3 years! I also used a whole lot of tabs managers but not even one solved the problem, managers don't even see these tabs! In my case, Firefox is stable, pages open, so what makes it impossible to add or save tabs? I don't want to lose my open tabs. I searched all the help pages, tricks and it still doesn't work, nothing, nothing at all, not even reinstating a computer or anything else won't fix the problem. I will also add that the "Settings" menu does not open! This is unique (super-bug)!

Hi, whenever I start Firefox up, one of the tabs randomly closes. This happens both with tabs from last session as well as newly opened bookmarks. Both on Windows 10 and Linux (MX Linux, Debian 9). Only one tab has to be "sacrificed" apparently, so I usually open the last bookmark twice.

What could be causing this? I attached what Extensions I'm currently using.

There's no built-in way to bookmark all open tabs across all windows at once, but Firefox does have a feature to bookmark all of the tabs in the current window to a new folder. The shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+D, or you can find it on

classic Bookmarks menu on the optional menu bar optional Bookmarks menu button for the main toolbar Does that feature work? If not, is there any error message?

Are you still able to add one bookmarks manually, for example by clicking the star icon in the address bar? If that doesn't work, it can indicate a database problem (more details if needed).

I will also add that the "Settings" menu does not open! Settings, formerly called Options, should open an internal page in a new tab. If you type or paste the address about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter, can Firefox show the page?

==Ctrl+Shift+D = NOT WORK / NOR REACTION / NO MESSAGE ERROR /NOTHING HAPPEN This marks 1000 Tabs, but nothing else can be done, no reaction, no error, no message, I don't know how to write or add 1000 tabs to the bookmarks, I asked a many developers, for 3 years and no one can help, I tried 100 different ways and there's nothing I can do, do I really need to lose my data? "Reset firefox completely" = data loss Even moving the profile and trying to restore it always ends with the same problem, still nothing works, how to save all 1000 tabs to a text file, even the best of the best ways fails, because after saving it is 0KB, no data !!!

I had to reinstall Windows because of a blue screen of death I couldn't fix. My firefox and everything else was gone. I want to restore my Firefox tabs. I've clicked on history, manage history, then Import and Backup, then Restore, and then I tried choosing the file from before I had to reinstall, but when I click on that file and click open, I get the message, this will replace all of your current bookmarks with the backup. Are you sure? I click ok, but nothing happens. Help! In Firefox 89 (as in all previous) all open tabs lined up at the top (first screen shot). When I updated to 90, they disappeared and only one (current) tab shows up at bottom right (second screen shot). I cannot find a way to see all open tabs as before - only when I close the current tab will the entire lineup of open tabs show for a moment and then go back to the single current open tab. I can't work this way and it's driving me crazy. I've searched online, tried changing settings in about:config and nothing seems to want to put all open tabs back up top where they were. What am I missing? (More - I am trying to upload a screen shot and just get the spinning gear. The file is below the upload size limit. I'm going to try submitting this anyway.)

Windows 7x64 desktop PC, FF 90.0(64), Startup set to 'restore previous session'.

When researching subjects I can often run with 60 - 80 tabs open. Frequently, if I take time out to do some other pressing task (in response to email etc.) and that task opens a new window, sometimes closing my main window without my knowledge, this appears to cause a problem for FF in that if the new window is closed after I've finished the task and now find that my main window has already been closed, the restore tabs procedure restores the last session tabs and appears to have dumped my main session tabs. As you will readily understand, this makes it a long drawn out problem trying to restore my working point from history when I can't remember exactly which tabs were still open or which page I had landed on. I do hope you follow all that. My question is how can I prevent this from messing me up again in future? Is there a way to retain session details so I can select them again after other windows have been opened and closed? Can you please avoid techie answers cos' they'll be over my head ;-), Thanks in advance.
