How can I transfer open tabs from my old computer to my new one? Syncing is enabled, and the sync tabs checkbox is checked, but the tabs aren't syncing on the new device. I also couldn't find any separate function to load tabs.

My account won't sync my old passwords and browser history. I recently reinstalled windows and when I tried to sign in to my mozilla account my data wasn't there.

so i was using my pc (and firefox) normally, when i then turned off the machine as usual.

when i turned my pc on again and opened firefox, everything was gone, i wasn't signed in and all my bookmarks and several home url's were not there, you don't need me to tell you that's not normal.

of course, i followed the most logical course of actions, i signed into my firefox account (from which i am sending this ticket), and expected all my data to magically sync, which it didn't, so i then tried to sync in manually, looking for any backup file on my pc (i couldn't find any, though i can't say i know what one looks like so...)

hopefully this can be fixed because i had auto-sync on and it would be a bummer to lose everything and slowly rebuild my browser ui from the ground up

I have a profil i didn't use since 22 days because computer issues

I need to retrieve ALL my tabs from this device For some issues i could'nt to it all before.

Now, i can see in my firefox profil pge, the profil exist. But if i go to my firefox installed in my new computer, i don't see THIS firefox device with ALL my VERY IMPORTANT tabs.

Is there any way to retrieve them ?

The 2-year-old support page "View synced tabs from other devices" gives 2 methods for syncing all your tabs from one Windoze FF to another. Neither one does anything at all for me now. The "right-click on the device in the sidebar" sounded SO promising, but it does not cause anything at all to happen. And checking the "sync tabs" box does indeed make them all show up in the sidebar list, but does not open anything. So besides clicking on each of the hundreds of tabs listed, how can I do this, or is it just another FF functionality lost to time?

Hi, i synced everything, in your browser, checked it few times, i had all my bookmarks from chrome to firefox few months ago, reinstalled windows, downloaded firefox and connected to account its clean, no of my information is there, wtf? i forgot the password, so recovered it. Give back my data for fuck sake, or it was mistake comming from chrome to firefox?

I synced my data today in mozilla and after that i reinstalled windows on my PC. now i installed fresh mozilla and logged in into my account but my data is not synced... i lost a lot of open tabs,bookmarks etc... what can i do? is synced version still somewhere or what? i did everything as i supposed to do but i cant see my previous open tabs and bookmarks..

Yesterday I only change the photo in my Firefox profile. Today I can't log-in to synchronize my account. When I click on "Anmelden" (German for "log-in") at the top right corner, a new tab opens, I can enter my e-mail adress, klick onto the button "Anmelden oder registrieren" (German for "log-in or register") it fades out and nothing else happens. I can access my account here as I logged in to send this message. What is the issue? How can I start synchronizing my account again? My Firefox version is 146.0 Thanks in advance, Chris

I just bought a new PC, part by part, and used my storage devices from my old PC. I formatted the windows drive and am on a fresh installation of windows 11. I tried to log in to my mozilla account, but couldn't remember my password so I used the "Forgot password" function. When I logged in, no bookmarks or history was saved. Is it possible to restore my synced data?

I have 3 devices connected to Mozilla account, 2 smartphones and 1 PC and NONE of them are syncing properly, bookmarks sync perfectly and everything else fails miserably. Some part of history does sync but nowhere near the full history. Syncing of open tabs is *completely* broken.

Recently, Firefox has been slow and crashes regularly. I try to sync tabs but after it crashes and I reopen it goes back to a much older save and lose tabs I've recently opened or sometime after a crash and reopen it tries to open a window with no tabs and I lose all my tabs

How can I remove all my saved passwords from Firefox Sync? On my desktop, I went to Menu > Passwords > Three Dots > Remove all passwords, and they're gone. However, on my mobile phone, they're still there. So the sync functionality is borked. The question is, are the passwords still on Mozilla servers, or is just the sync to my mobile buggy?

Even if I were to delete my FF Sync account, for good measure I'd like to manually delete all passwords from it first though.

Any help welcome.

For some reason after I restarted my laptop (firefox was opened) Mozilla was reset. I was logout from my acc and also firefox isn't my default browser (I didnt anything with it). Btw if I tried to open any link system will open it via firefox. But firefox still said that its not default browser in system. And if I open default apps in Windows I have 2 firefox there (and both recommend me to set is as default). Except FF I have only edge that also said that I can set is as default. After I login in my acc in firefox I haven't anything. No history, no passwords, extensions etc. What I can do here? I tried to use sync but as result I still have nothing.

Never cough smth like this before in same cases.

Solved, there is delay of 15 minutes before password appear on other device.

I've labelled this thread as (dec 2025) as there is a lot of issues dating back to years ago so this is mark it down just as a fresh review of the issue.

The only thing I'm looking from a browser is to sync Passwords between Phone and Desktop and for whatever reason Firefox is not doing it. Absolutley nothing gets synced even though both windows 10 and Android browsers have been sync manually with all of the options to be synced.

I've followed all the others people checks of settings, account login etc. and I'm just giving up for now.

I wish to switch to a new primary laptop. I normally use multiple machines in the course of a day. I have probably hundreds of open tabs on my main computer and even though I checked "Open Tabs" for sync, they never show on my other devices.

Following previous help recommendations I searched for the json sessions file...it doesn't exist anywhere on my system. The only other "help" was to "tap" tabs in the lower right corner. There is nothing in the lower right corner unless, perhaps on a phone, which isn't the device in question.

The subject says it all. The "tabs from other devices" are a) Shown as a long flat list of links, not in their individual tabs, which is disappointing b) right click does nothing - doesn't open them as advertised

15/12/2025 I need to sync my firefox data from my old windows 10 laptop to my new windows 11 laptop. Do I have to download the firefox app on to my new laptop before I can sync it, and will I need a new password if I have to download the app. Im using my old password on my old laptop to write this. On the new laptop, I tried to sign into firefox on the internet but, it said my password is wrong. I'm an oldie and have no idear what to do. Iwill be very grateful for any help. Many Thanks,

I've installed FF on new computers a few times in the past year and I've noticed that it never syncs the Search settings (things like default search engine, adding StartPage, etc.). Is that by design? Is there a way to make them sync?
