I have upgraded to 70.0 and now there is a 6 second delay on loading first site. I have firefox starting in private mode and without a home page. this loads at its usual speed. However, when I click on a bookmark the system hangs for 6 seconds before the site is presented. Subsequent sites load rapidly as usual. I have tested with other browsers and sites and the problem is specific to Firefox and not specific to the site being load. Once loaded, if I open an additional Firefox window this loads sites rapidly. I have been using Firefox for many years and the problem has only occurred since I upgraded to 70.0.
Can anyone help please.

I've tried and tried with this browser from turning off hardware acceleration and so on, Quantum V63 for Win 8.1 is a slow wreck to operate. I can type quicker than it takes to download. What have you lot done to make things worse when it was working better before ? Loading webpages now takes more than double long as the previous ff version. Can I revert to V62 i.e previous one before the update ?
Tried safe mode , disabled add-ons, and so on. It should have to be this way. Any suggestions ?

In researching this issue from other users, I saw where you may be able to restore my bookmarks and history but you have to ask me some questions first. Please help me and ask me any questions. I am going to be very upset if all I did was refresh and I lost everything. I checked before I did it and everything was set to sync. Problem is that it's telling me that my password is incorrect but I know that it's correct. Just checked it earlier today.

Windows 7 Professional Firefox 64 bit stable, up to date
Its is running on a 10 year old slow computer, the add-on script is unresponsive because it is running on a slow computer.
I had a similar problem with "Warning: Unresponsive script" but was able to get rid of those annoying notices by setting dom.max_script_run_time to zero.
I do not want to stop the script, the add-on adds security. I just do not want to ever see one of these notices on that computer ever again. I have to deal with them dozens of times each day and only use the computer for a few hours. Each time it interrupts what I'm doing to take me to a different tab to slowly deal with the problem.
The problem isn't the add-on script being slow, its the computer being slow. And the fact that the warning gives me no way to disable it so I keep getting it time after time after time...
Thanks

I have tried new profiles, resetting firefox, erasing all history cache cookies etc, and disabling anti-virus. All of my hardwarae usage is low. This includes cpu&core, ram (pagefile disabled), hard disk highest active time, gpu, everything. I tried disabling hardware acceleration. No add-ons. No extensions. I tried disabling all 3 plugins. no services.
I have 300mbit/s internet hard wire with no data loss.
It also never closes. No matter if I press the menu button then the power button. It runs in the background and the only way to stop it from running is to end the task in task manager.

I really appreciate any help that can be provide in clear current instructions. I am sure this question has been asked before. Are there a series of well documented, clear (to lay people) steps to diagnose and address this issue? I took C programming and Fortran decades ago, but I honestly do not understand how to get around "behind the scenes" in these operating systems!! LOL.
Super Thanks! I really want to get back to work - on my computer!!

I first noticed this in Overwatch (OW) but also with Diablo 3. These are the only games I play online. OW has a inbuilt tool to look at it's network connection. It shows that about every 5 secs, ping spikes. There might be other stuff happening, like some loss, but I can't say for sure. This translates into choppy gameplay which is unbearable for online FPS. If you look at the attached image, you see that the spikes go to 128 ms. I normally run 44 ms.
This symptom does not start immediately and I haven't been able to check how long it takes to start. It does go away if I close firefox down.
I tried to: - remove all addons - close tabs until only home/empty tab was left - removing/reinstalling firefox.
Nothing really worked.
I am running the latest version of Windows 10 (1803) with the latest version of Firefox 63.0.3. All 64bit.

Hi,
I'm trying to use Firefox to debug a slow website. Now, I know this website is slow - that's what I'm working on. So I don't need to see the "a website is slowing down your computer" message, I just want to be able to tell Firefox that - for this particular site - I don't want to see that message, I just want you to automatically wait and don't ask me again.
Is it possible to do this? Or if not on a site by site basis, then just disable the message altogether with a setting? It makes it especially difficult to use Firefox for this problem, but I don't want to have to switch to another browser to do it.
Thanks

Upgraded to Firefox 63.0 and all of a sudden started to see extreme sluggishness on every website I visited, especially Facebook, YouTube and some auction sites. I played around with the security settings, because this is what I saw changes in from my previous browser version to this new one, and that did not correct the sluggishness. I removed 63.0 and went back to my last browser 62.0.3 and bam, sluggishness gone. What changes were made that could have made this occur?

Hello, about a week ago, out of nowhere, Firefox began to load many webpages very slowly (not all, but many). Especially yahoo/google/gmail and the like.
I didn't do anything to cause that (no new add-ons). I refreshed/reset firefox, I even deleted it and reinstalled it. Nothing. It is still extremely slow when IE and Chrome load the same pages at the same time almost instantly on my extremely fast internet.
I'm about to give up on this browser if it keeps doing this.
Any other advice?

As previously stated. Whenever I turn on my Windows PC, and after the Desktop loads, I get no response from the Firefox icon to load my home page for 3-4 minutes. This happens without fail anytime I'm starting (not restarting) the PC. If I click the icon more that 1x I just get that many windows opening when it finally does start. No other browser is doing this. I have all the auto checks and updates turned off as well. I have tried changing my homepage to no avail. Thanks Dan Meno in Indpls.

Hi,
I'm having issues since a while with Firefox on Windows 2016 RDS servers.
At random occasions Firefox will be extremely slow. It can take up a 2-3 minutes before being available to browse or access anything in the software. I have already search a lot and tried many different things (refresh Firefox, uninstall, reinstall, create new profile, disable hardware acceleration, use ESR version, disable antivirus, safe mode, etc.). Nothing worked. Firefox is still randomly extremely slow.
I thought this might be the computer itself being overloaded, but no, it isn't.
We use roaming profile, the appdata folder is redirected to a network folder. So I thought this might be the issue. I created a profile specifying a local folder. Didn't fix the issue.
I did a procmon on Firefox process, it doesn't hang... but I'm fare from being an expert, and since Firefox has many process, it's hard to tell which one is slow...
Anyone have an idea?
Thanks!
