Hello, how can I remove or hide "List all tabs" btn?

Set "browser.tabs.tabmanager.enabled" as "false" stopped working for me after update to version 131.0. Hiding the btn before version 131.0 was not a problem.

I saw in release notes that "List all tabs" got some changes. link

I have an account on a website I visit near-daily. Despite having both cookies for this website persist and the password supposedly saved, the last three times I've visited the website I've been logged out and the password is nowhere to be found. Having to switch between my password manager and browser is annoying beyond description.

(That's actually not true. I have quite a few choice descriptors for this program, but have chosen to omit them)

How can I disable COMPLETELY the tab previews a/when I hover over a tab, and b/ when moving tabs (using left click and hold)? I've tried the various options listed in other questions on the support forum: nglayout.enable_drag_image = false browser.tabs.hoverPreview.enabled = false browser.tabs.hoverPreview.showThumbnails = false

Along with unticking "Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar" in settings.

None of these works to completely disable the previews.

Is my only option to reinstall an older version of Firefox... again?

Using 2025-04 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5055612) Firefox 138.0.1 (64-bit) and says it is up todate. I have looked at the about:config to find the browser.tabs.remote.autostart but it does not exist in the list of processes. I have also unchecked in settings both performance options intermitently to try and correct this problem, but nothing happens: (unchecked) Use recommended performance settings Learn more These settings are tailored to your computer’s hardware and operating system. (Unchecked) Use hardware acceleration when available Nothing pops up to allow choosing a different number as many support articles say. I have AdBlocker running as an add on and turned off the duck duck go privacy essentials and still nothing stops these insane amount of processes clogging up my computer. right now, on this page there is only this tab open and there are 13 processes running. Please send real fix instructions- thank you

I have payment methods saved. On payment sites, I click on the CC# input box, and I am given the option to use one of my saved payments. I mouse-over payment choice, and it populates the input boxes with the correct information, however once I actually click the payment method, the payment method and all the input boxes are cleared of all contents. I am therefore forced to enter payment information each and every time I want to use it. The Fill Payment method isn't working.

I have reentered and verified the saved payment method several times.

I recently added an entry to my hosts file but Firefox seems to ignore it. I'm using v. 128.5.1esr, fully updated. I've tried a lot of the advice online and none of it seems to work. Here's what I've tried:

disabled "Enable DNS over HTTPS Cleared the DNS Cache changed "Use system proxy settings" to "No proxy". tried troubleshooting mode set network.trr.exclude-etc-hosts to true changed browser.fixup.dns_first_for_single_words to true changed network.dns.offline-local to false restarted FF, rebooted computer

It doesn't work in Chrome either, which makes me wonder if it's a Windows 10 issue. Any suggestions?

How to change home page and new tab to desired URL or any extension of Firefox desktop in 2025?

I am unable to find any way to change how my new tab should look when I click + sign or new tab is opened up on browser opening or re-opening unlike Chrome.

I hate the change of position of typing from the search bar on the current new tab to the URL bar (unseen or unheard in Chrome) that Firefox implemented without considering users who would detest it.

Please explain in simple terms (I am not an IT wizz) how I can stop the continual popups in Firefox 128 and Thunderbird 78 on a Windows 11 OS saying “Update Available” with a Download button very easily activated by mistake.

Each time I click Dismiss, a new popup appears either immediately or very soon. The popup blocks a significant area of the screen and will not move.

I already have Update Settings on “Check for updates but let you choose to install them”. There is no option to “Do not check for updates” on these versions of Firefox and Thunderbird. I already have Windows 11 Notification Settings on “Do not disturb” and all Firefox notifications to Off.

I have found the Mozilla Support article “Customising Firefox using Group Policy” at https://mzl.la/3bLnw2J but I do not understand it and the device I am using is not part of a group installation setup.

There is a Step by Step guide “How to stop Firefox update notifications” on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nD-oXxrCCRs . This is clear to follow if I pause it frequently to absorb each step carefully. Is this safe for me to try given that I am very inexperienced in using the command line and accessing registry etc?

The Thunderbird popups have only recently started up and I would value advice on how to stop these safely too. I need this version of Thunderbird at present for particular reasons related to gmail so it is important I do not accidentally activate a download on that.

I tried to create a default Windows profile with pre-configured app settings, including FF. I created a temporary user, logged in, installed FF and configured it, also installed some add-ons (first of all, ublock origin). Then I logged out, logged as an administrator and moved the temporary user profile to the default profile location (c:\Users\Temp -> c:\Users\Default), and then reset its NTFS permissions. This almost always works for all applications, including Google Chrome. I created a new user and logged in, opened FF. The settings were applied, but the extensions did NOT work, and even the buttons on the toolbar looked like empty squares. At the same time, the add-ons were present in the list of add-ons in settings, although without icons. It helped to turn off and turn on all the add-ons one by one, manually.

After some research, I realized that FF binds its settings to absolute paths to add-on files (*.xpi), specifically in the $profile/extensions.json and $profile/addonStartup.json.lz4 files. Google Chrome, for example, doesn't do anything simular, like the vast majority of applications. Removing these files from the profile will cause all add-ons to be "reinstalled" on first launch and set to a disabled status.

An easier way to reproduce the problem: 1. Run firefox -profile d:\temp\profile1 2. Install some extensions. 3. Rename profile1 folder to profile2. 4. Run firefox -profile d:\temp\profile2 5. Got it!

For what purposes does firefox bind to absolute add-on paths, and how can this problem be solved? P.S. I know about portable firefox from PortableApps.com, but I don't want to use a third-party loader for my tasks.

I have started to use the vertical tab layout because the ability to collapse the tab bar gives a lot of extra screen space to work with on my laptop. I like to be able to split my screen between different apps to work with.

When I try to split screen Firefox with vertical tabs enabled the window cannot be resized down to a little more than half the width of my screen. So it has to take up a just little more than half my horizontal screen space. Even though I can collapse the tab bar to see the page.

Is there a way I can circumvent the unnecessary horizontal window resize limit when vertical tabs is enabled?

Bonus question: When I do reduce horizontal window size it hides the button to collapse and open the sidebar. So I lose a lot of essential control. Is there a way to pin it so it won't disappear no matter what?
