There seems to be a resource usage conflict between Firefox and Norton Security (and sometimes other programs). Response time is OK for a while, then suddenly goes down to the point I have to terminate Firefox with the Task Manager (Norton can't be terminated). After termination, I can wait a few seconds for the performance graphs to go to minimum, then restart Firefox and it will be OK again for a while, then the above situation will repeat. One odd thing is that even when response is OK, Task Manager shows Firefox (and plugin-container.exe) doing continuous disk I/Os, even though I'm not doing anything to cause excessive activity, like just looking at text on a page. This doesn't seem normal to me. I'm running with Windows XP 5.1 SP3.

I found this article: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Deleting_autocomplete_entries I followed the directions. It worked, no more drop down. However, after I signed into the site and back out, the drop down came back.
I don't mind Firefox autocompleting for most websites, but for sensitive websites, like online banking, how can I get it to NEVER autocomplete or create a drop down? Again, I don't have the username/password saved, and I don't necessarily want to disable to feature for every website.

I am running Firefox 31.0 on a Windows 8.1 o/s. When I attempt to access my email provider in its' "secure" mode, I am advised that the connection is untrustworthy. (Parenthetically, this does not occur on my other two systems running respectively, Windows 7 and Windows XP.) I am asked to provide an authorization for an 'exception' prior to completing the connection. The option of making the exception permanent is NOT available, so I go through this every time I begin a new internet session. I have contacted the email provider and been advised that their digital certificate is valid. So, as I see it there are three problems: (1) if the certificate is valid, as is suggested by the provider, why does Firefox not recognize this, (2) why does the exception window not allow me the option to make the exception status enduring, and (3) why is this problem present only on my Windows 8.1 system?
I've already donated to Mozilla. Why won't you stop asking me?

I do work remotely through an IP address. The certificate has expired but the company does not want it published, so they are not renewing it. I can no longer access this IP address through Firefox because it tells me "Secure connection failed." I can actually get on this IP address if I use IE, but they too tell me it is not safe, but still allow me to get on. How can i get this overwritten so that I can use Firefox (my preferred browser) to do my work?

WinXPHome, I have adblockplus but as for shopping at the basic sites, for me anyway, Walmart, Bestbuy, Newegg, Amazon, Gamestop Etc, What are my best choices for Security? I have also used NoScript but the training process is a little time consuming, for em right this second, But I will have it, And I like I think it is flash block? hopefully you can tell me about this too, I want to stop videos especially from loading and playing until I click and allow them, my computer is old and slow plus trying to keep down the data. At least half the time when I click on a bookmark or on a link in facebook or any web page , i get redirected to a totally different web page then what I was seeking. I have searched for help with this but can't find an answer. I scanned for malware, started in firefox safemode but it still happens. Also my internet speed through any browser is half as fast as it tested on the technicians computer who came to the house to check my internet speed. Why is that?
