How can I delete search history? I have a few misspelled searches and similar old stuff that pops up in the address bar when I type in a new search.

I have tried several things:

  • Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear data → Selecting and marking everything but with no effect whatsoever
  • Settings → Privacy & Security → History → Firefox will never remember history + Clear history as mentioned above
  • Settings → Search → Search suggestions → everything disabled
  • Settings → Search → Address bar → everything but Bookmarks have been disabled
  • Deleted my old Firefox account and created a new so I can still sync between 2 computers

Example: Previously I used www.adobe.com but now I use www.adobe.dk. But everytime I enter adobe in the address bar, Firefox keeps suggesting (autofill) adobe.com instead adobe.dk.

Any suggestions how to clear/delete the browser/search history so I can get a fresh start?

Hello: FF 140.b9 64b w11p. Are there ANY search engines (not nec browsers, just want to do a search in the address bar or search field) that do NOT go to an AI site to search? I want to minimize my use of AI technology, which uses extremely environmentally costly data farms. Thank you.

This may be more in "settings" than in "search, tag, and share".

Since updating to the 140 series, the URL bar has what appears to be a nonremovable "what kind of search do you want to run?" activated by typing in the URL bar.

Do Not Want. That's the entire purpose of having the separate search bar. For those who only have the URL bar visible, that might make sense, but right in the core Settings I chose to have both the URL bar and the search bar. I do not ever want searches initiated from the URL bar.

Is there a way to remove this unwanted "extra feature"?

And a gentle hint to those doing interface tweaking and redesigns: Those of us who use "separation" features directly supported by the program — that is, not requiring an extension or theme — would really, really appreciate having our choices respected. That the separate search bar is already selected and visible, or having a full menu bar (and not just the hamburger symbol) visible, should be a hint that there just might be functional, safety, security, and/or disability-accommodation considerations behind that user's choice, and you shouldn't override it Just Because.

In what file does Firefox store information about the icons of added search engines?

(After copying the profile with the search.json.mozlz4 file, search engines added by the user work correctly, but their icons cannot be seen - each search engine is marked with the same icon 'magnifier' - as you can see in the attachment.)

I added the duckduckgo extension and gave it the required permissions, but despite it saying that it set duckduckgo as the default search engine, it hadn't even showed up on the list at all. I tried removing and adding back the extension, but that didn't work either.

Why do searches only show results from liberal news outlets? This is the case no matter which search engine I choose.

I can go many pages into search results and not see any results from conservative new sources such as Newsmax. And yet, if I put Newmax in the search I get their results. But why do I have to search that way. And more importantly, why do general searches ONLY SHOW LIBERAL NEWS results?

Here is an example from today's news that "Lester Holt stepping down" from NBC News.

A search of "Lester Holt stepping down" shows: NBC news, AP news, CNN, CBS, USA Today, NBC, Politico, New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, People, Yahoo, and on. But NO conservative news outlets. And just to be clear, Fox News comes up sometimes (down several pages), but many things they report show me that they often don't show conservative viewpoints--which changed a couple years ago, with management changes.

I really want an answer to this question. The Liberal News BIAS is disgusting and needs to be stopped!

While I know that I can change the Search engine (currently set to DuckDuckGo), the problem is that they all generally show the same results. Just like they all rely on Google for their information.
