I need a way to recover open tabs, history and bookmarks when firefox crashed. I type placessql and session in firefox profiles folder and nothing comes up. Firefox won't open at all and I asume if I reinstall it I'll lose all previous sessions. What files I need to copy before reinstalling?

I was able to use it this morning from my macbook. But the afternoon I was on sites where my passwords usually fill but now everything is empty, everything had been deleted. I tried to log out and back in to mozilla and sync, but everything is gone. Over 100 sites and passwords. How this happened ? Where can i ask for help since Mozilla doesn't offer any.

So a funny story happened today, I used CC cleaner to help clean my PC now I have it set up so it does not touch Mozilla in anyway yet after an update those settings got wiped and when I used the program it wiped out everything I had in Mozilla, history, saved passwords, tabs, EVERYTHING.

The last time I made a backup to my bookmarks was 6 months ago, a lot has changed since then, I tried to use the restore function however those also got wiped out, so I decided to use the old bookmarks, yet it doesn't work, for some reason it tells me that it doesn't have any bookmark data in the file yet Chrome can read and import the bookmarks from the file, if I try importing stuff from Chrome it also comes up empty, as an experiment I made a new export from Mozilla and tried to import it and got the same error. I still have 2 bookmarks and those can't be deleted no matter what I do, I kept trying to delete them however they are stuck there no matter what I try. This laptop is a new one I got on the cheap after my laptop had a problem with it's hard drive, I made the backup right before the switch.

Does anyone have any ideas about what exactly happened and keeps happening?

Today my Firefox browser updated & all my bookmarks have disappeared. In place of my Bookmark toolbar is just "For quick access, placeyour bookmarks here on the bookmarks toolbar. Manage bookmarks(link). The bookmarks side bar is empty. I've followed the instructions to try to recover them but the page(Goes there from the "Manage Bookmarks" link) they send me to has no functionality. Whatever I enter goes nowhere, whatever I select. I've tried several different routes from the support/help pages to resolve but always end up at this dumb page. How do I get my bookmarks back when the tools to do so don't seem to want to work?

My name is Sizhe Xiong. Today when I launched Firefox on my Windows computer, the browser suddenly required me to select or create a new profile before continuing. I had no option to skip this step, so I created a new one.

After that, Firefox asked me to log in or register a Mozilla account. I used the same Gmail address that I’ve always used for Firefox Sync, but it seems that a new account was automatically created, and all my previous data — including bookmarks, history, saved passwords, and extensions — disappeared.

When I checked my local Profiles folder under C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles, I found several new folders created around the same time, but none of them contain my old data (all places.sqlite files are around 5120 KB).

These bookmarks and passwords are very important to me. Could you please help check if it’s possible to recover my old Firefox data, or if my previous Sync data can still be linked to my Mozilla account (using the same Gmail address)?

All my Windows have closed except one. I have gone to 'History' and then wanted to access 'Recently closed windows' but this is grey and inactive. Everything else in History is active.

I need to restore the Windows I have lost because there is some important health care info that I need plus many other things.

Please help.

Hi, somehow I managed to delete the Firefox account I've used forever. Is there any way you can reload the details of that account? I've downloaded another Firefox but there are no saved items, bookmarks, etc. Totally disgusting, but I can't somehow sign into the old account as my password manager does not currently have the right password, only the password I just made up for the new account. I recently received a note from firefox tat I had done something wrong and that is why I lost y bookmark option. I em wondering what exactly it was that I did wrong. I EM IN THE PROCESS OF UPGRADING MY COMPUTER TO WINDOWS 11. I hope you can help me with this issue. If not, I will not take you with me on my new computer.

Dear Firefox Support Team, I recently had to reboot my laptop, which unfortunately caused me to lose all my previous Firefox data. Fortunately, I made a copy of the old Firefox data folder from my previous installation and saved it on a secondary drive. However, I’ve encountered an issue — the copied data appears to be encrypted, and Firefox is now treating me as a new user. As a result, I’m unable to access my previous bookmarks, browsing history, and other saved information. Could you please advise me on how to recover and decrypt this data, and how to transfer it to my current Firefox profile or sync it with my Mozilla Firefox account? Something or somebody emptied my bookmarks. I tried the import/restore routine but was told that Firefox "was unable to process the backup file." I also tried System Restore without success. Can you help me? I don't want to leave Firefox, but the problem reoccurs, which is maddening and time-wasting. Thanks, Bruce Berckman
