I have a site created through wordpress platform. I have used page jump (anchor) to redirect one of my links into a specific section from another page. Works fine with Chrome, IE and Microsoft Edge, except with Firefox. It redirects to the page but gone through the bottom of it rather than the specific section where it's suppose to land.

Firefox has been opening multiple processes and is slowing down my computer.

I have read that this is because of an update. So, I want to completely remove all of my updates back to the one which caused the problem, and prevent Firefox from harassing me to install the new ones.

How do I do this?

Thanks for any help.

I am using the current version of Firefox and when using a particular website (Microsoft CRM Online) I get frequent popup dialogs . The issue I have is Firefox will ask me (in a dialog) if I want to "prevent this website from creating additional dialogs". I understand the reasoning behind this, but I don't want it. I would prefer that the dialogs behave in the same way they do in other browsers.

Can I disable this feature either at the browser

Hi there, since some days i encounter problems with downloading pdf-files. I tried this link http://personendatenbank.germania-sacra.de/books and tried to download a file by clicking "PDF" at any of the links there. I wouldn´t work. I see the download in the history (strg-j) but there is no progress. I encountered the same problem at another site.

In Chrome for example the link works without any problems

This may sound like word games, but I'm not trying to be funny, merely specific.

So I'm on a network with limited bandwidth. Therefore it's critical for me to understand what settings I can configure (if any) that will prevent the DOWNLOAD of video and/or large images from web sites.

For example, your basic site nowadays probably uses HTML5 and may use that vs. the old-style Flash plug-ins to embed video. And yep classic HTML links with references to image files for the images.

Back in the day you could configure a browser to ignore these references and then the browser would not even attempt to fetch the referenced image or video files. I've recently started using Firefox again, and I'm trying to learn how Firefox handles this in the HTML5 era (or rather what dumb users like me are supposed to do nowadays).

I'm noticing most of the help literature is regarding disabling settings of the auto-PLAY feature. However, due to my ignorance of modern Firefox, perhaps I'm reading it wrong, but most of it seems to involve disabling plug-ins that activate after the file is downloaded, not preventing the actual download. Similar to if I'm using Microsoft Word to view a DOCX file from a web site, uninstalling Word doesn't prevent the DOCX file from downloading. What I don't want to do is cheerfully disable the video playing while my browser still happily downloads the video in the background... because my main goal is not to avoid the annoyance of autoplay, but my goal is to conserve bandwidth on my connection.

FYI I'm using the latest version of Firefox Quantum on Manjaro Linux.

Thanks for advice anyone can provide in helping bring me into the "now" of modern Firefox, or who can point me to any further help articles or instructions to help educate me about this. If I'm over-reading and disabling auto-PLAY also inherently disables the downloading of the associated media, super, but that distinction is not obvious in any of the documentation I've seen so far.

Thanks!!

I am having the exact same problem listed here:

But none of the solutions there work.

Of course since I did not already have an account here, I was forced to create this duplicate question.

I was using Firefox fine all day, then suddenly Copy/Paste stopped working. Inside Firefox, the option for Copy still appears and can be selected, but when you Paste within Firefox or anywhere else on the system, things copied in Firefox are not available. Copying outside of Firefox works just fine. Using Firefox 62.0 (64-bit) on macOS 10.12.6

Update: And as soon as I posted this, now Copy/Paste is working, but only within Firefox; Firefox is now acting as if it has its own independent clipboard, accessible only within Firefox. This is happening everywhere within Firefox, regardless of website.

If I'm in Firefox and want to print an editable (to highlight) pdf page, I go to "Print" then choose either "Microsoft Print to PDF" or "Wondershare PDF element". What is displayed is never right. It may show the 1st page . . but not the rest; or nothing at all. I was going to try "Nitro Pro 12" but it appears that there is no way to install its "plug-in" now with Firefox.

The end I want to get to is to have the ability, from within Firefox, to convert or "print" a pdf, that is editable, and will allow highlighting, from the webpage HTML. It would be nice if it could be done, all at once right from the browser, without having to go through multiple steps - like taking a "screenshot" then uploading that image to some other site - which has also had unsatisfactory results (each "step" having the potential for some other unforeseen screw up or incompatibility). I've spent a lot of time searching and can't find anything.
Any help would be appreciated.

Firefox hangs when I open a new tab or new webpage. It's really annoying!

Everytime I do the automatic updates this shit happens. I used to go to one of the articles where it gave me instructions on how to reset my preferences, but that thread has since been modified, it now says to delete my pref.js, but that doesn't fix the issue anymore.

So i'm resorting to actually making a god damn account and asking why this shit keeps happening. I uninstalled Firefox and re-installed aswell, but it saved some of my data which I kinda need (bookmarks). That doesn't help.

I know that resetting my preferences back to default every update used to fix it, but I forget how now. Thanks...

Can someone just tell me how to fix it so I can update without having to do all this shit again.

I have only one extension and that is adblockerplus. Not likely the cause as it does this aswell without.

About a week ago, Firefox suddenly stopped prompting for passwords and no long autofills passwords. I tried rolling back to v. 63, but it still won't work. If I go into options and check "ask to save logins and passwords," it works as long as Firefox is open. But as soon as I close Firefox, the option is no longer checked.

All my passwords as still there in Firefox, but they will no longer autofill. This literally started about a week ago and I have made NO changes to my computer. I do use Roboform, but I have used it alongside Firefox for many years with no issues. I did log out of Roboform, but Firefox passwords still did not work.

I build and repair computers for others, so do have a clue here. Any suggestions?

Dear Community,

I recently switched back to FF from chrome and I really love it. There is one thing I cannot get to work though: I would like to have google as default search engine but without country redirect. In Chrome this is done by using https://www.google.com/search?q=%s&pws=0&gl=us&gws_rd=cr as search engine. What is the equivalent in FF?

I just installed Firefox 63.0 and discovered that the leading (inter-line space) between Bookmarks items has been increased.

Was this intentional? I find it an annoyance because I now have to scroll down more to see lists that easily fit on the screen vertically before. And the change adds nothing to readability.

I am using Hotdocs portal, which is an in-house document assembly tool. Firefox is the recommended browser, but it is recently handling 2016 docx files incorrectly. When we choose a file on the portal site (internal site), we go through the interview and are presented with a link to "download" the assembled file. When you click that link, a pop-up appears showing the file name as abc.docx but then says it is a Word 97 - 2003 document, even though it is not. The original template is not. If I choose to open the file, it ends up opening and showing as abc.docx.doc If I save the file, instead of opening it, it saves as abc.docx.

If we run this same process in IE/Edge, the file opens as abc.docx as it should. I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled. Is there anything that could be causing this? I've tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps and nothing seems to change this outcome.

Thank you.
