It should read "Why does it show the last site visited after I type in only the first letter of that site"? I thought that the Private window did not remember any of the previoulsly visited sites.

I keep getting Firefox request to remember login details and want this pop-up to stop ! All I want is an email address for Firefox to ask they stop asking me to remember my info. Thank You

My Firefox (version Quantum 65.0 32-bit) and Chrome both suddenly require 2-step verification, whereas Microsoft Edge does not. So, what is happening and why? I am using Windows 10 Home Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.523).

Computer: Dell XPS420 Intel Core Duo 32 bit, Window 7 Sp1 -- Update 55.0 corrupted not only FF, erasing all 1800 bookmarks, but negated ability to save passwords. Also, the update corrupted any ability to navigate any website. FF, when loading 55.0 took near 20 minutes to finally come on line. After about an hour of frustration I restored my system using a recent restore point. This brought up a BLANK 54.0.1 version of FF. I manage to search out "old" FF data to recover most of the Bookmarks, but the "Remember logins for sites" check box cannot be activated. I am at a loss as to any further troubleshooting. HELP!

Like headline say, it's new year... also happy to you but I'm just started angry ! Couple time power is off, start system normally but look like is windows restore is kick in, my FF is set only to notify me about upgrade but after last power lost he start automatic update to 57.0.3 , try to go in FB no password, same for google, go to FF sync is say I'm disconnected, connect and now no passwords...  ?! Where I can see my password, how to sync back them to my FF, WTF is going on ? And have focking happy NY !

My current Mozilla Firefox version is 70.0.1

I use Firefox Profiles function and have many different profiles created. It is very important to me that these profiles do not get mixed between each other and that cookies and other profile-related data would remain unique for that profile.

Is there a chance that if I update the browser to the current version cookies and other elements will get mixed among the profiles and those profiles will not be unique anymore?

When I go to Help>About Firefox I get the following:

"Updates are disabled by your system administrator"

So I guess if I decide to update the browser I will need to figure out how to do that first. :)

Hi, I have a thing that's been bugging me for a while. I have Firefox locked down pretty tight. Do not track, no browser history stored and no cookies etc etc.

HOWEVER, whenever I open a new tab I get the blocks of "previously visited websites to chose from" with some sites I have visited in the past (though not all) even though I'm basically running in private mode all the time. I can go to the security settings and select "clear history" and they go away and I get blank boxes again. But every time it builds up and they come back. How do I stop this from happening? Because clearly it's saving my browsing history somewhere, somehow even though I'm asking it not to.

Any help would be appreciated.

Every other site can remember my login details so I don't have to type them every time. But for some reason, Yahoo does not let Firefox remember my login details. So I have to cut and paste from a Notepad file, since I am sick and tired of typing them every single time. Does anyone know how to fix this, so that my user-id and password can be remembered and autofill in Firefox like they used to?

Why it happens? Is it dangerous? How can I turn it off?

I saw that on the latest Firefox release for Mac and on Firefox ESR 31.2.0 for Mac I saw that on Thunderbird release for Mac 31.2.0

Only in FIREFOX, my TITTER safety settings are changed & locked automatically. If I try to change the settings as I desire, I may not be able to do it as it can NOT be changed. I am using FIREFOX for years. I am only encountering this problem recently after I installed a fresh version of FIREFOX.

I have just been forced to use Google Chrome instead of FIREFOX just for this problem. I can NOT change * uncheck either: -Hide sensitive content -Remove blocked and muted accounts Please see the photo & inform me if I could correct this problem so I can use FIREFOX back again. In previous version or via CHROME, I can change these 2 setting as I want, but not the most current version of FIREFOX

Come' on Mozilla, instead of the countless rapid releases, concentrate on the security part.

For example, in the dropdown menu my email address displays twice (both are exactly the same and have the same number of characters). I have tried deleting the autocomplete information manually but the problem persists.

It is VERY URGENT that the following is looked into by Mozilla Firefox and anyone else who uses this browser, as it would appear that the latest installation downloads from Mozilla Firefox (GB-EN) for versions 28.0 and 29 (and quite possibly previous versions) ARE THEMSELVES INFECTED with malware/adware. This is the only conclusion I can come to after repeated resets of my computers to factory settings, and everything is fine until I re-download Mozilla Firefox and select it as default browser, then the following happens when my Office 365 account is accessed:

In Office 365, if I select the 'File' menu and 'Office Account', then click on the 'Manage Account' button, TWO tabs on the default browser (if it is Firefox) are opened and the SECOND tab is a malware/adware page, usually called something like www.74f.com or another URL or server with a number, and sometimes this has an email address on the adware page that opens. This only happens when Mozilla Firefox is the default browser - it does not happen in Internet Explorer. In IE, the second tab is the correct tab for the Account in Office 365.

This has caused me to do repeated resets to factory default settings on my two laptops, one running Windows 8.1 64 bit and one running Windows 7 64 bit, and everything is fine when re-installation of all programs is complete and IE is the default browser. As soon as Mozilla Firefox is downloaded - the latest versions 28 or 29, and Firefox is set as the default browser, the malware/adware tab reopens in Office 365, as above.

On doing a search on what www.74f.com is, it appears to be registered on servers in China.

The malware/adware seems to be directly connected with the download and installation of the latest versions of Firefox. PLEASE INVESTIGATE URGENTLY - as although Firefox has always been my favourite browser, there is no way I am ever going to use it again unless this is solved, as I am fed up with doing factory resets of my computers to solve this. Each time I re-install Firefox it happens again, to a previously clean system.

Cannot stop https from loading on browser on my.yahoo.com homepage. Homepage loads but will not allow access to any yahoo sites (mail, weather, finance, etc.) but I can access news, etc from other sources from the homepage. have tried disabling add-ons, reverting to previous firefox 29.0.1 from 30, manually correcting the address, nothing works. The issue seems to be limited to the yahoo homepage, but I have no idea why, and cannot access any yahoo sites (because of the problem) to try to get info from them.

The message I get is "this connection is untrusted" when I look further, it says "invalid security certificate", but I'm sure that's because browser is requesting a secure connection in the first place.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have been deleting this 'Crypt' file whenever it appears because whenever I have searched on the Internet for info about it, it always says that it is a virus! Suddenly, I wondered if it after all, could be a file created by Firefox whever I use private browsing. I only use this for online banking and it occurred to me that it is the reason the file doesn't appear every time I use Firefox. 'Crypt' could be short for 'Encryption' perhaps? Is this the case?

I've been experiencing problems with the newest update of Firefox since it came out. My toolbars don't right. It crashed on me several times, and now I've discovered that after the crash, it went back to default mode and wiped out all my usernames/passwords.

I tried a system restore on my Windows Ultimate 7, but that didn't do anything. And by toolbars, I mean the Yahoo! Toolbar for firefox.

I have version 43.0.4 as of today.

It's been a while now since I randomly started getting the above problem. I've tried the solutions described here: https://cheapsslsecurity.com/blog/troubleshoot-secure-connection-failed-error-firefox/ I've stopped the Kaspersky Internet Security, I've installed and re-installed Firefox, I've tried editing/deleting the damn security ceritficates, mothing worked. And nothing of Firefox's help pages... helped either.

I'm using the latest Firefox, latest KIS version, all the drivers are up-to-date, system (Win 7 64-bit) runs perfectly with no error whatsoever, same for the Inetrnet connection. At this point I'm just about ready to flush Firefox down the drain because of this frustrating problem. It will probably go away after restarting the system, but I don't want to do this at Firefox's notice whenever it feels like it. I just want it to go away period.

Side note: very funny having to confirm this question by checking my gmail address... which I can't access because of the reasons stated above.

I go to my credit card web account, and I type in my login name and my password, and Firefox refuses to save it. I can save it with any other login -- "Would you like Firefox to save this login for xxx.com?" In fact, my wife can save her login on her account with the same credit card website. That particular website is not listed as an "exception" in my security preferences (in fact, I have no exceptions listed). What's going on?

We're talking FF 58.0.2 on Mac OS 10.11.6.

Before clearing away my history, in firefox's show all history, I saw few mozilla support community website items. One was my profile page and the other was the one with #sign-out written in the end which is the web address when I signed out. Later on when I saw a previous screenshot of firefox's show all history from another time, I saw that in it there was a web address of a question of firefox history and it has a 7 digit number in its end. Now I doubt if I also saw in those two history items I mentioned earlier before clearing history (ie, profile and sign out ones), if there was a certain similar 5 or 7 digit numbers near my username or not. I maybe misinterpreting it after seeing the question history of mozilla support community in the screenshot because I looked the previous ones in an instant.. & now, I can't know for sure since I cleared them all.. Only question web addresses has numbers in the end right?? is there anyway for the profile web address and sign out web address to have numbers in their web addresses? I just want to confirm whether this was a misinterpretation of mine or not
