Computer: Dell XPS420 Intel Core Duo 32 bit, Window 7 Sp1 -- Update 55.0 corrupted not only FF, erasing all 1800 bookmarks, but negated ability to save passwords. Also, the update corrupted any ability to navigate any website. FF, when loading 55.0 took near 20 minutes to finally come on line. After about an hour of frustration I restored my system using a recent restore point. This brought up a BLANK 54.0.1 version of FF. I manage to search out "old" FF data to recover most of the Bookmarks, but the "Remember logins for sites" check box cannot be activated. I am at a loss as to any further troubleshooting. HELP!

It's been a while now since I randomly started getting the above problem. I've tried the solutions described here: https://cheapsslsecurity.com/blog/troubleshoot-secure-connection-failed-error-firefox/ I've stopped the Kaspersky Internet Security, I've installed and re-installed Firefox, I've tried editing/deleting the damn security ceritficates, mothing worked. And nothing of Firefox's help pages... helped either.
I'm using the latest Firefox, latest KIS version, all the drivers are up-to-date, system (Win 7 64-bit) runs perfectly with no error whatsoever, same for the Inetrnet connection. At this point I'm just about ready to flush Firefox down the drain because of this frustrating problem. It will probably go away after restarting the system, but I don't want to do this at Firefox's notice whenever it feels like it. I just want it to go away period.
Since it looks like it's impossible to attach a simple .jpeg to this message (file keeps loading forever), here's the full text of the error: "Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.google.com. You have received an invalid certificate. Please contact the server administrator or email correspondent and give them the following information: Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority. Please get a new certificate containing a unique serial number. Error code: SEC_ERROR_REUSED_ISSUER_AND_SERIAL The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."
Side note: very funny having to confirm this question by checking my gmail address... which I can't access because of the reasons stated above.

Hi
I am having the typical "This Connection is Untrusted" message visiting a website.
When clicking in technical details, instead of having the button "Add exception", i have this message
XXXXX uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
How can i do to trust this certificate? I have tried to add an exception, as explained in different threads, but still not working
Thanks

The "Add security exception" dialog box that pops up, keeps on increasing in size upon pressing "Enter" button on keyboard. In my PC Its now out of my screen limits, I can not see anything due to the extremely stretched dialogue box. This looks to be a bug in FireFox. Attached image showing the problem.

I've lost all my passwords. They were in my browser Firefox, but it logged out itself. And I didnt remember firefox password, as I have used it only once while creating. I did reset the password, and everything lost. It was registered on most secured mail (protonmail). Having firefox accound is useless, if everything you have will dissapear while password reset. It's not security, it is ill-conceived solution. All my accounts, all my photost now lost...
you were my brother firefox, I have been protecting you always :(
Please return me my accouns data.

Tools>Options>Advanced>"Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload a page"
Un-checking the redirect block is a Global setting. I want to know how to allow redirect/reload pages for sites I use every day as friendly sites. I do not want to turned off for the entire world wide web. Otherwise, why even have this security setting at all? I've already added my usual sites to my Privacy exception list hoping that will work but that list is ignored by the redirect security warning. The "Allow" popup is a real pain so the entire feature has to be disabled. Like I said, what's the point of having this feature.
Firefox - Please provide an exception list for Redirect warnings.

Under privacy and security - forms and passwords - I have checked "Ask to save logins and passwords" - Many times - when visiting a new site - the dropdown that asks if I want to save - does not appear - and/or - the login is there - but the password is not saved. "Password Editor" in add-ons is not compatible with my version of Firefox - Without going crazy - there should be a way - under this setting - "privacy and security" - to Manually add a web-site with login/password. And if not - why not?

Security exceptions have NEVER worked correctly for me, and I'm sick of it. Someone please help with this.
First of all, I posted about this months ago, the thread can be found here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/965352 . No personal ill-will toward the folks who responded, but none of the replies were helpful. Most were not even APPLICABLE. (This includes the final one, that I didn't respond to.)
Briefly: Occasionally, seemingly at random, a site (often one I've previously accessed with no problem) will start giving me the "This connection is untrusted" screen I'm sure you've all seen occasionally, ostensibly because of invalid security certificates, but in reality for no damn reason at all, at least not that I've ever been able to discern. I then click on the "I understand the risks => Add exception" option - unlike some others who have similar issues, I DO get this option, it's not greyed out or anything. This brings up the "Add Exception" dialog as expected, but apparently it's merely decorative, because when I click the Confirm Security Exception button at the bottom, LITERALLY NOTHING happens. The box doesn't close, no error message comes up, there is no visible change of any kind. I hope I'm being clear, when I say LITERALLY NOTHING happens I mean LITERALLY NOTHING happens.
(Sorry if that sounds condescending, but you'd be amazed at the number of times I've said something like that and the *immediate* response is something like "What did the error message say?". And looking at it from the other side, having done tech support, you'd be equally amazed at the things customers described as "nothing happening" that could not possibly be further from "nothing", including error messages that plainly spelled out what the problem was! I'm just trying to (a) avoid the first scenario, and (b) make it clear that this isn't an instance of the second one...)
To belatedly respond to the last message in the previous thread:
* I am NOT in private browsing mode * There are no intermediate certificates involved (and even if there were, I would have no clue, based on that message, about HOW to get them). * Also, it's a very bad sign that this message expressed doubt about whether I had an option that my original post quite explicitly spelled out that I *did* have. Again, no personal ill-will, and I know the OP in that thread was rather long, but even so, that kind of thing makes me wonder what *else* about the problem the person responding might have misunderstood.
Anyway. Hope that's clear enough, if anything isn't, please ask. I'm happy to answer questions about my settings and whatever else might be relevant, much less happy to correct faulty assumptions after the fact. It seems that significantly more people than me have this problem, let's see if we can get it resolved once and for all.

I just updated to Firefox 36.0. I was curious about the new "Hello" feature, so:
1) I clicked "Start a conversation". 2) As soon as it opened, I immediately closed the conversation and deleted it. 3) I also changed my status from the default "Available" to "Do Not Disturb".
About 30 minutes later, my camera turned on! I have no other application that would do this without consent; it has never happened before.
I hate to ditch Firefox, but this breach is too severe to overlook. I imagine it has equal control over the microphone. Embedding third party software with this kind of hardware control seems reckless to me. Firefox Hello...Provided by TokBox, Inc....Powered by Telefonica ?! Did we miss the recent news about Lenovo and Superfish?
I have a lot of respect for Mozilla and all the products it has generated. I await news on this, but not using Firefox in the meantime.
